How exactly are Candido's mic skills? He's never really gotten much of a chance to speak in either WCW, ECW, or WWF. Usually that's a sign that he sucks at that, but maybe I'm just judging unfairly. I don't exactly see what sort of plans WWE could possibly have for them. One would think the fans will have forgotten "Skip," but considering the age of the average fan, he'll probably get constant "Skip" chants and not have chance to develop a new character. I'd say change the hair (color it, even), the tights, etc. and find a character he'd be comfortable with. Of course, this is all assuming when/if he'd come up to WWE. You'd think it would be soon, but Nova was in OVW for 2 years, wasn't he?

From Spirited Away?

They'd rather see Molly Holly's chunky thights and manly face. Alright, I agree with the chunky thighs bit, but manly face? Molly's got a nice face, especially compared to Christy or Carmella, it might just be me but I reckon Carmella facially is pretty average (at best). Christy's photo shoots make her look a lot better than she does on TV. On the other hand, Carmella looks pretty much the same. Number of persons who actually said that, Banky? That isn't the issue. Thing is--we've seen Carmella naked, she can't wrestle, and she's extremely dull as a character. There are already other Divas on the roster who can do her job. Hence, myself and others view her as useless *and* redundant. Carmella brings nothing special to the table except for the "Playmate of the Year" title. Big whoop. Torrie has much larger upsides than Carmella, because--call me crazy, but PMotY or no, I think Torrie *may* have more name value. You're so hung up on that you seem to want to bring it up any chance you get, even if the "point" you make is bullshit.

Or maybe he's overgeneralizing this board *again* (see: "most of you want to see HHH buried"), plus is a PBP?
-
Well, most of them aren't too flattering. Supposedly Asians think of Filipinos as the Mexicans of that part of the world... Quagmire (when he's about to sleep with Trisha....): Alright! I never did it with a Spanish chick before!
-
What net benefits do they bring? They're going to use time that was just going to be used by the other Divas anyway, and unless they're going to do multiple Playboy shoots all in a row, they're not really any huge additional gain, because at any given time only one will be a heavily promoted face, and Carmella, as a heel, won't be put in the position to make any money for the company even if she would be able to. Basically, you hired two women to do jobs that women you already employ do just fine...however, you're paying the current Divas *AND* the new Divas. It's very similar to how WWE signs tons of wrestlers, doesn't use many of them or flat out wastes them, and then releases them without ever giving them a chance to succeed.
-
BBJ: Just answer me this--why does Vince need new Divas when he doesn't use all the ones he already has? We've already got several on the roster (both eye-candy and actual wrestlers) who spend most of their time sitting it out most of the time, and then they apparently have brought in two more.
-
Heheh--that's cool. Sure beats the US-Alex-Kidd looking crap that's on the US one.
-
Ah yes...sucks I only have the cartridge now. For a brief period I'd stupidly sold my SNES and games... Also, the EWJ manual had plenty of corny jokes and the comic strip. While I loathe the game, KI Gold had a VERY in-depth manual, telling you the basics all the way to the more advanced stuff. Even had a cart with quick-referece move lists, ultimates, supers, etc. I seem to recall the SNES KI manual being really good as well. That's quite a contrast to the SF games' manuals. You'd have basic stuff like special moves and throws/holds described, and they'd vaguely hint at those mysterious things called "combos." Nintendo's manuals always seemed to be better. Usually the SNES ones would be in full color with awesome page layouts/backgrounds. Sega's usually would be black and white on the inside, and they got to the point where even the covers of the manual were cheap-ass xerox-looking paper. Of course, Genesis game boxes kick the asses of SNES ones, so it's a trade off. But once Sega switched to the paper boxes which weren't even half as durable as the SNES ones, that was quite lame. Since I own Sonic Jam, I'm well aware of how much cooler the Japanese manuals were. The little illustrations in them remind me of the ones that Versus Books had in their SFA2 strat guide. You and I have both established that, while only the game itself matters to you, to me presentation counts for a lot. Does anything released in the US beat the huge leather-bound manuals found in the Lunar 1 and Lunar 2 Complete editions?

My suspects, in this order: 1. Shane 2. Lita 3. Matt
-
when was that? Not sure. The exact timeframe escapes me, but it was around a month/couple months before the Molly/Victoria Mania match, I believe. I think it was a few weeks before Gail was injured. So we're looking early this year or late last year.
-
Believe me, I haven't forgotten. Why the fuck should we feel sorry for Kane again? Lita yes, if you can manage to keep a straight face about this bullshit for a moment. However, kayfabe-wise, I'd say Kane's character could fuck off, since I'd have no sympathy for him whatsover. There is no *intentional* entertainment to be found in this entire mess. I'm expecting Lita to be revealed as the mastermind behind the "job" Gene was sent out to do...because women normally have guys stage a miscarriage that would incite their psychopath husband to go after the accomplice, and the accomplice would be just dandy with that as long as the pay was decent. It's not like women have any real attachment to their unborn children, regardless of who the father was or the circumstances surrounding it... For those who think that WWE wouldn't have a woman use a miscarriage to manipulate a guy--well, they've already run an angle like that before with PMS/D'Lo.
-
Okay, okay--4 people don't have to tell me that. Yeah, I forgot. So, how many Benoit-less Raws and Heat matches are the minimum we can agree on to justifiably bitch about? We're up to at least 2 so far... Maybe Benoit will make Taboo Tuesday. After all, he made the last PPV, even though it was in a pointless, slapped-together tag match as part of the Retard Brigade.
-
Benoit wrestled at least one other Heat match recently--I think either the night after losing the title for the following week. So Benoit isn't even going to be on the No Mercy card at all? Nope, nothing to that...

*wonders how the WWEpologists would like to spin this*
-
So you not only have no problem with that, but you also have no problem with a character WWE is portraying as a face making murder threats?

See topic. We often take them for granted, some of may even throw them away sometimes. A lot of us like to hate them, though, and hate when EB/Gamestop gets rid of them, since we'd be more likely to buy the games if they had everything with them. However, sometimes the manuals are actually worth reading. Maybe it's actually useful, riddled with mangled Engrish, decent jokes, or is flat out bizarre. Two that come to mind are: the Donkey Kong Country games, filled with wise-ass comments from Cranky Kong which aren't too different from a lot of bitter old-school gamers who diss games for relying on fancy graphics. Ecco the Dolphin's manual...the manual itself isn't the thing, but rather...what's in the very back of them. Anyone who has played the Ecco games probably has an opinion formed about the developers as being tree-hugging hippies, but the back of the manual has an odd, somewhat admirable, if strange appeal... It has a list of recommended books about dolphins. They sure love their dolphins. List yours.

Due to my own inept setup of the tourney, we should have a final 5...however, we can't really do that...so I've decided since the last round ended with a tie between Ibuki and Hanzo, both of them are nixed from the tournament for now. They did well, but better luck next time... TSM Video Game Ninja Tournament (Round 4) Andy Bogard (Fatal Fury/King of Fighters ) vs. Joe Musashi (Shinobi Classic) Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden series/Dead or Alive) vs. Strider Hiryu (Strider series) ...what The Lesser Bogard is still doing here, I have no idea, but hey--you folks' votes. My votes: Joe Musashi (Shinobi Classic) Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden series/Dead or Alive)

At least she acted offended when she was accused of sleeping with some one to win the contest. Although it's kind of contradictory because Molly whored out Gail to Bischoff to get that handicap match where they beat the crap out of Trish. Still, it's funny they're admitting (even if it's in kayfabe) that the wrestlers think a "fan" contest was rigged.

Often I think RRR does get a bit overboard, but I usually agree with 70% or so of what he says. Even when he seems to "overreact" he has valid points to base it on, and he details and outlines them. I still watch WWE, but I'm not a rabid fan anymore. I slept through the first hour and a half of Raw last night...but I don't even really feel compelled to check out a recap, let alone be upset that I missed it. GreatOne really deserves to be ignored, since he mostly flamebaits, but usually has just enough semi-valid points to make you want to say something to him. Then he'll say something really stupid like "most of you would like HHH to be embarassed on camera and then fired." Plus, most of what he says is the same old "smark bashing" points we've heard, debated, and gotten bored of already in the past. He's adding nothing new. Of course, I'm biased towards Rudo anyway, and I think most people who use the phrase "sports entertainment" sound like complete tools. I'm pretty sure Rudo, as well as myself and most of the WWE folder, only continue to watch the WWE as bad as it is because a) we've seen far worse, even though usually it wasn't as tasteless b) there are still aspects about it we like c) out of habit d) it's more interesting to make fun of than it is intentionally entertaining. Of course, most of us completely ignore SD, which seems to be a flaw in theory d. However, it fits in somewhat well with c, because 5 years of watching isn't nearly as rooted in our behavior as 10 years+. D seems to ring pretty close to the truth about the OAO Raw threads. Those of us that buy PPVs and merchandise still--I consider them part of the problem. However, us that watch free TV and don't have Nielson boxes--it's no big deal. ....why did I just get a WWE Shopzone merchandise catalogue in the mail? I haven't ordered anything there but an Eddy shirt, and that was last year.

You're right about that. I guess that Universal (?) decided that they weren't likely to recoup the budget on Sky Captain, so they released it now, and if it makes it's money due to word of mouth, then it's gravy. Considering that the box office numbers you see a) are before theaters take half and b) don't include the marketing budget, it's very unlikely Sky Captain will make it back, at least until video sales. Although if it does fairly well in the end for its lousy release time, that may make them decide to greenlight a sequel and give it a better release time.

Maybe I misunderstood, since I missed most of Raw, but didn't JR say when Orton lost the match to Batista that it put him out of the running as a challenger?

Would the LCD be compatible with the PSTwo, or would they make a separate one? From what I hear, the existing LCD for PSO has a battery pack that will eventually go completely dead, and you can't get any new ones...so that's a problem. Don't know exactly how/if Sony would address that problem with a PSTwo LCD. Also, yes, very good point. Of course, you miss out on the "exclusives" for PSP...which at this point are mostly rehashes of games you can currently get on the PS2.

Corrected for truth. Kane's a face now after having raped Lita and forcing her to marry him (and the grounds for that is really stupid as well). How fucked up is that? Even if Gene did it intentionally (it's pretty much implied there's some EVIL MASTERMIND who sent him in to do a "job"), Gene "killed" something that's technically not alive, but Kane's recent and past criminal actions make Gene's look like jaywalking. Lita wasn't showing, and if she miscarried this early in pregnancy, it's much more likely to be something completely unrelated to this incident (such as a birth defect Lita's system "caught" ). http://www.womens-health.co.uk/miscarr.asp It's completely plausible, especially with wrestling's common "conveniences" that it is completely not Gene's fault.

HAHAHAHA! Fuck you, Sony! I'll wait for the PS3, thank you.
