From todays Observer update Meltzer has this to say about the rumors of Cro Cop having discussions with UFC: Regarding Mirko Cro Cop, he has been given an offer from UFC after his current deal with Pride expires. All the top marketable stars from every group are going to get offers from every group with big money. Negotiations are not even at the prelim level. This is an amazing story. How this got out is that an anonymous person on the Sherdog message board claimed to have looked over the shoulder of someone at UFC with figures that claimed Cro Cop was getting a $4 million offer for four matches. Because it made the message board, and this really speaks to the profession today, a newspaper in Croatia picked it up like it was a news story. Cro Cop in the story, denied it and laughed about it. He did a TV interview later where he said they've made an offer but again said the offer is nowhere close to what the internet has. Interesting for both UFC and Pride. If he goes to the UFC does he immediately get a title shot? Who would you like him to fight?

WON News + Notes, December 18th Issue

Court Bauer on the Smackdown writing team? When did that happen? Isn't he the same guy that ran two indy feds into the ground within a month? -
I was thinking HBK just to add something different to the show. Then Rated RKO cost him the title or Umaga comes out to cause a DQ. Orton or Edge is too easy of a solution.

TPWW was my first introduction into the IWC and I have many of fond memories.

I just got the DVD yesterday and watched it with 2 of my friends. I would say we all have pretty good taste in movies and give every movie out there a fair chance and dont pre-judge. I was expecting this movie to entertain me and be an enjoyable time. Boy was I wrong. I don't know what it is about the movie but I just didn't like the way it was put together. I am a media production major in my senior year of college and as a novice in the business there was just a lot of shots that were not put together well in my opinion. The story developed very slowly. I will admit that the acting was very good which was the strong point of the movie. It is just that it didn't compel me to keep watching and it was hard to get through. Thats just me though. Maybe I should give it a second watch and see how I feel about it.

They (Hardys) issued an open challenge to any team from the universe (their foes on the PPV will not be a team regularly in WWE--at least not as of this week although I presume they will be regulars again)-From Meltz. Him saying again makes me think it is a returning team. Who though?

I know this is kind of random but with all of us reading things from the Observer has it ever been speculated or talked about by Meltzer himself who his sources are? Anyone have any guesses?

They are with out a doubt all going to come together to fight Sylar. I smell a heel turn coming with one of them soon though. One bad guy and all these good guys. Now come on people we aren't that stupid.

Any idea what the WWE would plan on doing with Bob Sapp if they brought him in and he must be commanding huge dollars considering the amount of money he can make in Japan. Maybe he is considering WWE as a way of getting more mainstream attention in America and to continue his acting career (possible in a WWE film.)

So Angle failed for steroids?

Just went to the Lowell,MA show last night. Mastodon played before Children of Bodom and we didn't catch Mastodon. Saw about half of Children of Bodom's set. I have seen them before and it was about the same as it had been the 1st time. Lamb of God was fuckin insane, 3rd time I have seen these guys and they never cease to amaze me. FUCKING SLAYER. Thats all I have to say. This was the 1st time I have ever seen Slayer and it was the pinnacle of my metal life. It was fucking insane with the pit erupting into the whole floor of the show for the 2nd half of their set. Absoutely phenomenol.

Oh come on guys I can't believe no one has mentioned Metallicas cover of 'Turn the Page.' Much better than the original.

I think this is pretty good news for ECW getting a time slot on a fairly big cable station. I think something like a Wednesday night slot from like 10-12 or something a long those lines would suit them well and I think if they do this right could bring in ratings somewhere between 1.5 and 2 which would have to be considered a pretty decent success considering the ratings TNA has been getting and the relative down time of wrestling right now. Now the next thing the WWE has to figure out is when to tape it. Taping it before Smackdown to me is not a good idea because it isn't going to give ECW a unique feel. Bring it back to smaller arenas around the Northeast and some of the stable regions in the Midwest. Doing a tape on a Saturday night every 2 weeks or so would be a great idea in my opinion.

Angels and Demons was better than Da Vinci. Dan Brown's other two books Digitial Fortress and Deception Point are both really good as well and deal with new age issues.

What was the biggest crowd pop EVER?
BigPoppaKev replied to JimmyHendricks's topic in General Wrestling
I was at the show where Austin returned during the Mankind/Rock match where Foley won his first title. My ears were ringing for days after that show it was insane. Another insane pop was Austin's entrance and win against HBK when he first won the title at WM. -
I'll save my money for Sounds of the Underground 2 and Slayer/Lamb of God.

pretty much the only one i got is mashed potatos/french salad dressing combo

From Da Meltz (I didn't see this posted anywhere else)....... WWE was very close to making a celebrity deal for a debut tonight and tie-in through Mania of someone nobody would expect. Not a huge name. Any idea on who this might be/what they might do?

This is a tough one that me and my friends were talking about the other day. One band that came up that we all agreed with was Incubus. They have enough radio friendly songs to keep up on the radio as well as a pretty devoted following.
