Oh yeah, and Aecas was JL Champ for a little while, and I believe there was a good two week span where there were constantly booked "Swimming Pool" Matches, or something, that nobody was showing for. I think he ended up losing it to Todd Royal on the same show I beat Maddix for the Euro Title, but I could be wrong there. EDIT: A quick check of the JL title histories confirms... 11/23/03 ...probably one of (if not the only) day in JL history where every title changed hands (though with only two belts at the time, that isn't saying much.

I still say Coach's disappearance was more so Styles could attack Lawler rather than Coach. You can believe that Lawler was being kinda playful and Joey just went off, so Lawler socked him. With Coach, I wouldn't buy "playful" and I wouldn't buy him punching Joey either, regardless of how big or small of a guy Joey is.

I said it in other threads but I'll say it again. I am excited. The possibilities are out there and rumors are rampant about what could happen on either brand. Some of the news is great, some of it is horrendous, but it could at least be a baby step in the right direction. I hope they can carry everything over to next week and have it work just as well.

Amazing. You damn right.

The idea was more Joey asking why he was told to go out and act like the guy they fired. If anything, Ross will simply have to spout out some stupid company line about being a "storyteller", and knowing JR, it'll get played off like "I am an emotional person in this booth and sometimes those emotions get the better of me and blah blah blah". And how will they be booked? That doesn't matter, it's almost too obvious the fans will cheer ECW over anything else just because. Hell, probably the only time the ECW name has been booed for the last 8 years was when Stephanie was named "president". It's going to be more about tradition vs. revolution than face vs. heel.

I thought about this... I believe one of them will turn face due to Joey's "fucking cheerleaders" comments. I think one of them needs to stand up to Vince as the "Why did you make us dress up like f'n cheerleaders for?" guy. Play a little outside of kayfabe and maybe talk up some Ohio Valley in the process... The other ones can play kiss ass to Vince and still be his crew, or maybe one or two more of them can follow the first one.

He did it last week, though it was kind of in the middle of a huge brawl thing...so it didn't get alot of coverage. Also... I thought about it today, and ALOT of things they did from step one in the show last night helped build toward the ending... 1. Vince's "God" egostroke. 2. The entire Vince/Candice thing...including the extra shot during the tag match (i think), which was PERFECT in a "Forklift" sort of way. 3. NO COACH. It doesn't seem a big deal, but Joey 'attacked' the WWE brand of announcing...which most people see as being JR/King. King was "playfully heelish" perfectly, because had Coach been there he would have had to play the heel against Joey, and that wouldn't have made Joey's explosion as good. He needed to have one single target, and with JR not there -- it had to be King. He would have gotten heat for going after Coach, but not the kind of heat that the segment needed. 4. The various mentions Styles makes of "smark" news during his interview capped it off nice while still playing the kayfabe side. Meaning, him bringing up his meetings with Vince about how he commentates, but then talking about how they "fired" JR. Other things were good too, including Edge and the Squad mocking Joey when they could, which nobody has really done on screen before. I can sense next week's little Edge/Foley match might have more going on than we think, but we'll have to wait and see. It's fairly rare that a segment can be layered like that, setting up not only a match but also a completely "unrelated" storyline just because of a few randomly dropped sentences. Did someone spike the WWE writer's water again?

I don't think I would want to get EVERYONE involved in depth... just a few key people here and there... it's more the idea that, should it happen, everyone in the company should be talking about it and reacting to it because it's big news. If RVD won the belt and then threw it down and did the old Shane Douglas routine at ONS...wouldn't you suspect that on Raw the next night THE ENTIRE COMPANY would be buzzing? It would be weird going from "This title is worthless" to Carlito or Haas yelling "You suck Masters!" or some other such nonsense. And, the best part of the nWo was the unpredictability in it's early days...they just took the swerves and shit too far. it seems ECW's mindset as a whole should be "Wrestling is better than Sports Entertainment and we are going to prove it" ... if it splits up the fanbase then so be it... some of the best wresting fan discussion i've seen live involves people with completely different mentalities about what is good and what isn't as far as the 'wrestling vs. entertainment' aspect is concerned

Cena would not go anti-ECW ... at least, not in the way you are trying to put it. I believe Cena, when surrounded by an ECW crowd that is calling for his head, would instinctively go on defense and attack them back instead of trying to be their friend. Regardless of what happened tonight. It's the face/heel dynamic of Raw going against ECW that is an interesting angle in all of this. Also, I don't see HBK ever going after the title again outside of maybe his normal "oh, tonight you are fighting HBK for the title" like they've done a few times. I don't think a long-term program/feud would be in the works. HBK, like HHH, is actually above the world title due to his tenure and overness. EDIT: And what I meant by the "face/heel dynamic" is that if Raw and Smackdown both went after ECW, guys that hate each other (Masters and Carlito for instance) would be forced to be sided with one another to go against the larger good, but would still have to show tension towards each other...and it's that kind of layered storytelling i'm most interested in seeing how it's pulled off.
