Jesus Christ, the Indians are hitting like ass tonight. They've had a baserunner in each of the first eight innings, but have one run; a solo shot by Grady Sizemore. At this rate, they'll be a non-factor before July rolls around.
-
Thank god for Jeff Nelson. I must say, the Tigers are playing the game the right way, but they've had a TON of breaks coming their way. It is indeed a game of inches.
-
And Brian Giles kills a rally by getting picked off first by Molina to end the game. He would've fit in perfectly with the Cubs!
-
Is that Ryan's first blown save of the season?
-
If the Cubs had re-signed him, he'd be on the DL right now with something like a sprained ring finger on his non-throwing hand.
-
Whoa, let's not say things we can't take back.

Yeah, she sounded like morbid obesity was what was keeping her from being able to reach it.

This woman caller right now is reinforcing the stereotype women should stick to traditional women sports like foxy boxing, hot oil wrestling, and so forth.

Eleven of the first 27 Cub hitters today swung at the first pitch today, according to WGN Radio Guy.
-
Who HASN'T left the Cubs on bad terms?
-
These WGN Radio guys sure are Cubs apologists.
-
As terrible as they are, the Cubs still have an immense fanbase. If they're drawing ratings, obviously Fox is going to show a lot of their games.
-
Good thinking, Dusty. Get the leadoff man on and have Pierre give himself up, leaving it up to John Mabry and Todd Walker. I guess Dusty's trying to revive the Dead Ball Era.
-
So the Cubs have allowed a guy who is making his first start off the DL to throw less than 90 pitches through seven innings. And what a statement on the sad state of their bench that Neifi Perez was in the on-deck circle for the pitcher in a one-run game?
-
Boy, that Jim Hendry sure is full of doo-doo. Braves are letting the Cubs hang around here, but the club's fixation on grounding into double-plays is effectively killing any ralleys.
-
Juan Pierre now 0-for-22 with RISP. The way he hits in those situations, Dusty just should've let Marshall hit instead of having him move Cedeno to second. He's got almost as many RBIs as Juan does, after all.

GLAVINE'S THROWING A NO-NO! JINX JINX JINX!

Boy, that Sean Marshall sure is fun to watch. Get to quick outs, get ahead of the catcher and then get cute with him, walk him, give up a hit to the pitcher, double to the leadoff man and make a bad throw to the cutoff man that allows said pitcher, bad hammy and all, to score from first. Longest sentence ever.

Dusty Baker was quoted yesterday as saying he just doesn't know what's going on. I wish someone would point out that maybe having Neifi Perez batting second isn't exactly a good way to jumpstart the offense. Oh well, I'm sure he thinks Tony Womack will be the answer. In other news, Chris Carpenter may be DL-bound. Maybe the Cubs will pay attention and note how even if the Cards struggle during his absence, you'll never hear them go, "We'll get going as soon as we get Carpenter back."

Who is the defining artist of this generation?
Bruiser Chong replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Music
Jay's a good choice, although from a personal stand-point, he leaves me a bit empty lyrically. Flipping through his discography, there's little growth. He steps outside his circle here and there, but for the most part, he's one-dimensional on a substance level. There are too many folks who think the guy can do no wrong and stupidly look back on his career through rose-tinted glasses and act as if it was blemish-free. -
Fair enough. I'll still attest to a good chunk of the audience I saw it with not getting it, mostly because they thought the follow-up line was just as funny.
-
I doubt it. You may have a case if this were an isolated thing, but the equally bad, "Who's hiding, dickhead?" line that followed indicated the writer simply tries to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Then again, I guess that's about all you can expect from a duo whose screenplay credits include: - xXx: State of the Union - Fantastic Four - Mr. & Mrs. Smith - Elektra
-
Yeah, I think you're giving the audience and writer too much credit here.
-
Oh, I guess I don't get this "cult" reference, either. Please elaborate.
-
It's amusing cause it's a reference to something that has developped a cult following not because of "TEE HEE! HE SAID BITCH! LOL~!" I assure you the mostly teenage crowd I saw this with laughed because he said bitch.
