Jose Mesa fucking sucks.

Stupid Mets. I wanted the Phillies to win, but now Gordon gets the W. What the hell was that between LoDuca and Heilman?
-
Part of me's pissed, since I've got Myers on my fantasy team, but the other isn't livid, since my opposition this week has Tom Gordon.

A-ROD IS THE WORST PLAYER EVER! RAR!

Anyone else remember how Yanks & Co. was convinced getting Johnson = World Series?

WHAT, NO JAIL TIME?! //TSM

The sad thing is a lot of Cubs fans are stupidly crying for Brenly to take Baker's spot.
-
It's ironic the Cubs are trying to follow the White Sox blueprint and yet, are overlooking so many key aspects of it.
-
Cubs also brought up another infielder in Ryan Theriot and sent down Michael Restovich. Awesome. Another utility guy who can't hit at all. Restovich got a whopping 12 at-bats in his time up and not one start. It's a shame the Cubs won't accept Jones is a platoon player, since it would've been logical for Restovich to at least start the games they faced lefty pitching.

Our leadoff hitter now sports an OBP of .287. I thought we traded Corey Patterson. The real annoying thing is the rest of the division isn't playing all that great. The Reds and Cards are hot, but there are signs they'll be beatable this season, which makes this anyone's division. Except the Pirates.

I wonder if Jerry Hairston can do anything right. With a RISP, there's no need to be swinging for the fences, especially since it's Petco Park and he's JERRY HAIRSTON. But hey, whatever.
-
I hate how most managers won't use their closer until it's officially a save situation. The Rockies are up 6-1 over the Cards in the ninth and Ray King was bombing. But Hurdle let's him give up a run, and load the bases with two walks and a hit before he goes to get his closer. King obviously had nothing, so why wait until it's possible for the Cards to tie it with one swing before you go get who's supposed to be your best reliever? Because he doesn't qualify for some meaningless number?

Your "out of leftfield" news item of the day: Jose Contreras is heading to the DL.

This was a topic on Around the Horn last week. Not for the list as a whole, but because of Jeter's inclusion. Naturally, the entire panel was outraged. Derek Jeter overrated? NO! He jumped in the stands! Leadership! Intangibles! October Magic!

How about this story about Bonds refusing an autograph to the guy who caught the homerun ball last night? He gave the ball up with no problems and just wanted an autograph, but got shut down. What an ass.
-
Victor Zambrano has admitted he's been pitching in pain since he got traded back in 2004.
-
They were worried it was a groin problem right up until he physically pulled his cup out while leading off third.
-
With Zambrano out for the year, Bannister and this Maine guy still hurt, you probably don't have a choice.
-
Yeah, I'm started to get worried. We've only won seven games this week. Man, it's depressing to think the Cubs barely scored more runs this week than games the Phillies won.
-
I'm no Bonds fan, but that was a BOMB.
-
You didn't actually think they were showing the game for anything other than Bonds did you?
-
Hmm, Cubs finally put up a crooked number (first time in 80 innings they'd scored more than one) to take the lead and Angel Guzman quickly gives it up and is threatening to give up the go-ahead run.
-
Victor Zambrano is done of the season.

I've seen the trailer, read reviews, and know that's all I can do until it drops on DVD. We never get anything like this here. Our city's usually only graced with cinematic gold like Stick It or Scary Movie 4. At any rate, definitely seems like a movie that a lot of people would write off as crap just because of the premise. I know if it were here I'd probably have to go see it solo.
