    MLB: Week 1 (4/2-4/9)

Philly's bench just got ridiculously better as they've snatched David Dellucci up from Texas.

    MLB: Week 1 (4/2-4/9)

I want it to be done with. I'm aware that it's an important issue, but it's going to overshadow the entire season. There are things pertaining to the game that don't involve Barry Bonds or steroids. I'm a bit surprised ESPN doesn't look to be offering the Cubs/Reds on Opening Day.

Marlins snagged another Cubs prospect that never was, Todd Wellemeyer. He showed signs of having great stuff, but his command wasn't consistent. Perhaps he'll work that out with more regular work in Florida.

It looked like he wasn't going to be getting that final roster spot, but I was still weary of him making the team and somehow landing a platoon situation with Murton. Speaking of the Cubbies, I guess Baker said during a recent telecast the starting SS job is Cedeno's. This either means that Dusty's been in the Arizona sun too long or that the Cubs will trade Todd Walker for a bag of sunflower seeds so Perez can start at second.

He'll turn things around. It's the way of the Cards.

    Your favorite type of food.

Italian. I was partial to it before I met my current girlfriend, but her cooking has just reinforced it.

Glad to see Pena away from the Reds, but damn, that's a steal if guy ever learns to play in the outfield.

They were the only entertaining aspect of the franchise the last two months of the season.

His goal is to have two at-bats this season! Nah, he was getting hit pretty hard right out the gates. I don't think the linedrive even happened until the second or third inning. In his defense, the two doubles to lead off the inning reinforced the idea that the game is indeed one of inches.

I usually do. I know he's not going to give us another 2004, but I still can't figure out why they were so eager to re-sign him to a multi-year deal. Then again, when you have Kerry Wood and Mark Prior in your rotation, I'm sure others look that much more appealing.

I'm realizing that without Prior and Wood, it could be a loooong April. Rusch is our number two guy (so I'm hearing) and he has an ERA of almost 10 this spring. I saw him pitch today and he was getting BLAZED by the White Sox B-Team. They were sure eager to re-sign him, though. Of course, this is the same braintrust that's determined to dump Todd Walker by Opening Day, despite him having a great spring and more appeal than the likes of Mr. Neifi.

My NBC affiliate's not even showing it. We've got the Pistons game instead.

AJ Burnett left today's game with an elbow injury. Doesn't sound like it's nothing to worry about, either.

I would've disagreed with you before, but now that the Nats may be without the might Christian Guzman, perhaps you're on to something.

It wouldn't be right if neither Mark Prior or Kerry Wood started the season on the DL. It's almost hard to get mad at, anymore. It's just so ridiculously predictable that you can't help but laugh it off.

Prior will have his shoulder that has supposedly been fine this whole time examined. Whew, what a break for the organization that this comes out only after they've broken ticket sale records!

    WWE Greatest Managers DVD details

Fuji Vice is included, which suggests Fuji's part of the "and many more" category. Let's not front, though: he was a one-dimensional manager.
  18. He's right on that front. Most people are ignorant about history, regardless of era. Hell, my dad struck up war against my grandparents over Elvis, who they felt didn't play real music. People are getting dumber, though. Most of the teens and kids around here make me shake my head, but then I consider that their parents are but 16 or 17 years older than them and it's tough to pin the blame entirely on the kids.

Anyone in the Twin Cities MN Area

Weren't you the guy who was losing a lot of weight? Consuming massive amounts of beer probably isn't going to help the cause. Yeah, it's tough to find someone who doesn't boast of their beer pong skills sooner or later. I love reading/hearing people discuss variations on the game (a lot of colleges have their own set of rules to the game), past matches, and their overall skills in the game as if the thing's a sport. It's blown up, though. A lot of clubs are actually having tournaments now.

    Best rapper from Houston currently?

I'm sorry, I can't make it past the stupid music video and insipid hook to pay much attention to the verses. The fact that the Ying-Yang Twins pretty much doomed it from point go, anyway.

    School Fights...

in a similar fashion, we played "King Of The Hill"...there was a somewhat steep hill between the fencing of the playground and the fencing of a nearby tennis court...the object was to toss your opponents down the hill, past a line (which was usually marked by a stick or a jacket or something)...the line was pretty much right at the bottom, so if you start to go, you had to struggle to make your way back up as your opponent continued to try to get you down past the line...we had one on ones, tags and all out elimination-rules rumbles. Ah, memories. Thanks to a huge pile of woodchips and a barrage of first and second graders, the big fifth grader with the hearing aid finally got his moment in the sun.

    WWE on Ebay

You know that collection of words that comes up at the end of each WWE program? That's called a copyright. That means that if you try to profit off of it, you're breaking the law. I don't typically side with WWE, but when it comes to pirating footage for big-time profit, I agree. I think fans should be able to exchange footage, but there are people on eBay making a killing off copyrighted footage.
