    King Kong

I'm not trying to say that the line was well-delivered by Black, but even films with strong dialogue have some clunkers in there.

    Question about Seinfeld...

This is actually a question in the '90s edition of Trivial Pursuit.

    King Kong

Well, that was the last line in the original. A running theme in the film (which is more prominant in the original, I've realized) is that Kong is indeed King until beauty comes into the picture. He could've remained safely in the jungle, but it was Ann who inadvertantly lured him out and made him fair game for the crew. Jackson expanded on it, but that's essentially what the original is from the moment Ann's kidnapped by the natives. Even if someone tries to watch the original in a historical context, it's hard to ever feel like the key characters are in much danger. The effects are still amazing for their time, but watching it now, there's not much suspense in these types of scenes, even in ones where casulties occur. I said earlier that these aren't my cup of tea, but the CGI made them as suspenseful as they could be.

    Ebert's review of "Wolf Creek"

Maybe he dislikes "horror" movies that rely on blood and guts to provide the scares. I don't put much stock into most self-proclaimed horror buffs, anyway. You'll find there's a surprisingly high number of them that completely write off any classic horror, which would seem to cancel out their opinions on the genre. What are you basing that on? From the sounds of the movie, that's exactly what he did.

    Tony Dungy's Son Found Dead

I thought for a moment that Downhouse was actually just Downhome poking fun at himself. Lame either way.

    King Kong

Man, don't bring Lucas' name into this. The god damn gorilla projected a wider range of emotion than anyone in the SW flicks. Even then, I didn't have any issues with the dialogue. I guess I'd like some examples on what was so bad here. It should also be noted that the original is more or less a B flick, only with amazing (for its time) special effects. It was worse in the original. At least here it was telegraphed in a sense. The original shows Driscoll warming up to Darrow a tad and then delivering one of the movie's best unintentionally hilarious line. "Say...I guess I love you."

Damon's signing, as overpriced as it was, still did damage to the Red Sox. Still, I can't help but think they set themselves up for all of their current problems. With the contract demands Damon was making, it never seemed likely he'd stay with Boston, so they should've been trying to secure a centerfielder long ago. And as smart of a trade as the Renteria deal was, they still should've had an idea of who was going to take his place once he was moved. The Beckett and Lorretta deals were real big, but if those hadn't been done, Boston would be in the lead for the worst offseason thus far. Speaking of Lorretta, why isn't he being mentioned as a possible leadoff man candidate? The guy posts a nice OBP each season and I thought we were all past the notion that all leadoff men have to be speedy. The idea is to get on base regularly, not necessarily have the fastest guy leading off. Corey Patterson's one of the fastest guys around, but he's an embarrassment as a leadoff hitter.

Troy Glaus just seems too overrated to me. Guy's always hurt and now you take him out of a good hitter's ballpark and place him in a considerably less hitter-friendly home field. On the flipside, the Jays aren't giving up a ton for him.

    People Who Tailgate

I can understand going the speed limit in the fast lane at times. Depending on where you are, cops are sitting pretty in arbitary spots, so even if you normally drive above the limit, you may be on the look out for them. I know that's how I am. I never see a cop around when these idiots are going 90 for the sake of it, but they'll appear for a minor infraction of the speed limit.

    People Who Tailgate

Doc Ock seems like one of those guys you come across frequently on the freeway that you're never going fast enough for. The speed limit could be 70, you could be going 85 and they'd still be on your ass, yelling, "Your car says you can go 130, so go 130!!!" These people typically drive oversized trucks they don't particularly have a use for, except telling everyone around them that they're not going fast enough.

    Worst Song of 2005

That's the problem with The Neptunes. They've got a quality catalog, but at the same time, it doesn't vary much, which means that a lot of the artists they work with end up sounding out of place.

    People Who Tailgate

A couple weeks back, I was following my girl on the Ohio Turnpike when it was quite slippery out. She had someone tailgating her and I was behind them. I saw her tap on the brakes out of nowhere, which made the car tailgating her do the same. Since it was slippery, I came close to hitting them, even though I wasn't all that close. I knew she'd done it on purpose, since she'd always told me to do that when someone was riding my ass like that.

As a closer. Guy's great elsewhere. The Damon move doesn't really surprise me. It's odd it actually went down, but it's been reported for weeks that it was basically between the Sox and Yanks and I was under the impression the Sox weren't going to do much to keep him.

Patterson's a real Catch 22. I don't want to see him regulated to being a deep bench player this early in his career, but at the same time, don't want him to go elsewhere and become the star everyone's been waiting for.

I love how within the same minute, there was more than one person citing Jones having an OBP above .300 as the only noticeable upgrade from Jones to Patterson.

Well, his OBP actually breaks .300. Other than that, who knows. I wonder how his numbers will be affected by the move from the Metrodome to Wrigley. Neifi can play short and second at the same time. Ask Dusty. We still have Walker, don't we?
