LaRoche probably would've been safe had he not been jogging the whole way.

Those messages are depressing. Of course, with it being MySpace, I wouldn't have been surprised to see in the middle of all the "my prayers are with you" and "Rest in Peace, Taylor" messages, one that said something along the lines of "So, so sexi. Hit me up sometime." -
I've heard "Ether" far more times than "The Takeover," so I could be biased since I still prefer the former. "The Takeover" has better production values and there are a few lines where you can't help but say, "damn!" Still, Ether, as one-dimensional as it may be, does a better job at its purpose: dissing Jay.

Like I said yesterday, I still think this series is going back to Atlanta. What happens from there, is anyone's guess.

'Bout time the Braves took advantage of their scoring chances. Grand slam coming with only one hit in the inning, that being the slam itself.

And really, that's how people in any walk of life get noticed. Not necessarily because they're the best at their craft, but because they are great at promoting themselves. You need to know how to promote yourself, otherwise, all the talent in the world isn't going to make you the most recongnizable guy in your trade.

Popularity-wise, Jay is the clear-cut winner. Really no argument about it. If you get your opinions from the likes of MTV, Jay is the better emcee, too. But anyone able to form their own opinions with access to both of their works, it's obvious that Nas is the superior emcee, no doubt.

Just get a DVD player that's region-free. I've got a cheap Cyberhome DVD player that cost $40 and plays R2 DVDs. I've got one of the Tagged Classics DVDs, and if there's a difference, I really didn't see it. If Ventura's commentary isn't here, I'm out on this set. I can stand the WWF references not being there, but when half of the commentary from the first SIX Manias are missing, hell with that.

That's fairly common, actually. A rapper getting as much praise for releasing as much fluff as Jay has done is rare, though.

Is it your mission to be as closed-minded on as many subjects as possible? -
Cam's a lunkhead. He mentions having beef with Nas and retiring people in the same breathe. Is he trying to imply that he put Nas into some sort of fictional retirement?
-
Molina's two-run single earlier proved to be huge. Had he not done that, it would've been a one-run game and probably an entirely different one, too.

This series is brutal. Padres didn't really have a chance going in, but from what I've seen tonight, they look like they've long since checked out and are just going through the motions. At this point, the only thing they have to fight for is not being no-hit on top of being sent home.

I'd rather see the Cards there over the Astros. I felt dirty having to pick a team in the last NLCS, but I'll be forced to do it once again and my choice won't be any different.
-
Well, it was a nice game while it lasted. We're getting dangerously close to the final four teams including the Cards, White Sox, and Astros.

Budden's jab at Banks is w-e-a-k. As was Mike's shot at 50, since it'd make more sense if the guy were about to shoot 50 in that freeze frame, not the other way around. As it stands, Mike's implying that 50's about to shoot a guy because of listening to music he creates.

Al Keiper, say it ain't so!

Who the hell are all these supposed White Sox fans that are showing up now that the team's going to the ALCS? I've never seen these people before.
-
I love Morgan's logic. "His foot was off the base, but I'm not going to agree with that." Huh?
-
Shutup. Just shutup. The offense is going to pick them up again, so quit sweating it.
-
Because since that time, their fans have become almost as unreasonable as most Yankees fans. If St. Louis goes on to win it all, it'd mean Renteria was on the wrong team both years.
-
It's a big deal to them. And to their fans, too, no doubt. It may be routine for teams like the Yankees, but in Chicago, you party like it's, uh, 1999, when you win a playoff series.

This cannot be happening.

My friend went to the concert Sunday night and described pretty much what you just said. Also said that C&C puts on such an amazing show that he didn't think anyone could see it and not like them.

I'll admit it. The second post got a legit LOL from me.
