    How was your day?

This thread reminds me of why I dislike the typical blog so much. "OMG like, today was okay. I totally went to class, which sucked lol and had a ham sanwitch."

    Thinking of getting an Ipod.

I love how people act like the 20-60GB iPods are too big. When you consider that the latter holds 12,000 freakin' songs within but a few cubic inches, it's incredible. After lots of research, I went with the 60GB model. The 20GB had been my plan for the longest time, but when it came down to it (and the Apple student discount) it seemed more logical to plunk down an extra C-note and get 40 more gigs. Will I ever use all 60 gigs (actually, it's less than that)? Probably not, but I'll definitely use all the 20GB model can hold. Not wanting to even deal with CDs on the go anymore, the model I got made the most sense. The Nanos are the hot, new fad, but realistically, there are only a handful of reasons you should actually get one: 1) You don't want your entire music collection to have in the palm of your hand. 2) You're mainly in the market for an MP3 player you can work out with. 3) You must have the hot new item, whatever that may be. For $50 more, you can get the 20GB instead of the 4GB Nano and honestly, that's the way to go unless any of the above apply to you. And since my 60GB can fit comfortably in my pants pocket, I don't buy into the "it's too big" statement.

Didn't we have a mini-discussion on how good TZ and AHP really was a year or two back, Milky?

    Angels/Yankees ALDS Thread

So you praise the Angels' defense and claim Wang was the only Yankee to show up, all in the same breath? Yeah, the errors hurt, but the Angels had a myriad of web gems crammed into nine innings. Nothing the Yankees could do about that.

    Braves/Astros NLDS Thread

I'd just like to note how silly it is to take a stat like ERA so seriously when it's taken from such a small sampling.

I thought Vern (Culloden) was a Twins fan. Did I miss something?

    Angels/Yankees ALDS Thread

The Angels remain one of the most uninteresting winning teams in baseball.

DVD Releases: Week of October 4th

I was referring to the TV series, which I'd probably get regardless of price. Unfortunately, they're using DVD 18s again and to the surprise of no one, there are already issues being reported. The 15-disc film set from Hitch would be an ideal purchase during the DDD sale in November.

WWE news on the Ultimate Warrior DVD

They think Savage is as crazy as the Warrior. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't they very much correct? No, thank God. Seeing that woman in the audience bawling over a wrestling angle insulted my intellect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was 1991. Wrestling was still "real." Plus Bobby Heenan's comments on all of it is excellent.

That's the worst 60 I've ever seen in my life.

    Cardinals/Padres NLDS Thread

He's awful. In my two seasons of getting Cards' baseball, I've often hoped Joe f'n Buck would cut him off everytime he tried to talk, and then say something himself. This series is already like last year's NLDS with LA.

Yeah, I heard Abreu just runs on batteries.

Goodbye and nice to know you

Well, I would blame him for their poor season. Those injuries had nothing to do with it. SIGN DUSTY, LA~!!!

    The MLB Playoff Prediction/Preview thread

I love how people are crying about Showalter, when this wouldn't even be an issue if the Yanks had beat the D-Rays now and again.

Andruw didn't start coming around until late June. Until that point, he had been just as bad as everyone else.

Simpsons Season 6 DVD Set Complaint

I totally forgot about sending away for this. What was the deal again *doesn't feel like looking through the thread to find the answer*?
  18. The line between gigantic dumps being great and terrible is fine, to say the least. There are times when they make you feel like a new person. Like recharging your batteries and being left feeling as if you could conquer small nations if so desired. And then, there are those times when they're such a struggle to actually, uh, dump, that you are pro-choice by the end, because you don't think anyone should be forced to squeeze something that's bigger than whatever it's coming out of.

    The MLB Playoff Prediction/Preview thread

I suck at making predictions, but it'll be interesting to see if the ATL/Houston series plays out like it did last year. The Astros were on a major roll at the time and still had Beltran, Kent, and a healthy (sorta) Jeff Bagwell. On the plus side, they now have a dominating Pettitte, which they didn't have at all last year. Pitching is obviously going to be the key to Houston's success. I'll go out on the ledge and say... Atlanta in four Cardinals in four Angels in five Red Sox in four

Andruw Jones singlehandedly resuscitated the Atlanta Braves, so it should be him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think this is a misconception that could probably be proved wrong by stats. The emergence of the rookies is what got this team going.

I can't pick which WS outcome I dread most!

Astros and White Sox would surely result in my passing. I don't like the Cardinals, but it's tough to HATE them when they did all this without so many key pieces. Some teams would have you think that once you lose a couple of pieces, you're allowed to lose.

    This Week in Baseball

Considering how things looked at the outset of this week, this is all very depressing. There are essentially THREE, perhaps four teams in this postseason that I can stomach to see win it all. Damn me and my soft spot for the underdogs.

I couldn't help but laugh at little Jose Macias running back to the dugout in the swarm of red jerseys.

Heh. The Phillies' season rests on the shoulders of Jose Macias.
