Tampa owned the Yankees this year. That team can hit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My point exactly. TheDon speaks as if the D-Rays are some push-over team.
-
Not from you.
-
Yeah, you have to absolutely SUCK to lose against the D-Rays. I can't think of a single contending team that didn't whip those guys around during the season. All the regulars were in there for the White Sox today, by the way.

Biggio hits a 300-foot bomb on the first pitch from Williams.

This is strangely reminescent of the Cubs' final week of the season last year. Poised to take the WC, they, like the Indians, had their fate in their own hands. Things look to be heading for a similar conclusion, sad to say. Clemens got into minor first-inning trouble, but Nomar decided it'd be good to swing at the first pitch following a walk. He can't be gone soon enough (as long as Neifi Perez doesn't = everyday SS next season).

Impatient lunkheads.
-
Silly me, I thought the score was the only thing that truly mattered at the end of the day. I suppose you guys would prefer to be the ones down 7-3 if it meant having an expanded strikezone for your pitchers?
-
Are you never satisfied with anything?
-
That homer may have just ended the Indians' postseason hopes.
-
The thing about today's game is that it doesn't even look like it's going to be competitive, whereas the Sox/Indians game is.

I have college football. I guess we get the Cubs/Astros game at 4, which is just fine by me.

As a Cubs fan, I'm supposed to strongly dislike the Brewers (which I do when the two teams lock up), but something keeps me from being against them otherwise. Something about their fans during home game impresses me greatly. Perhaps it's the loyalty, creativity, or mixture of the two. Their announcers also are genuine fans of the team and together, it just has a great feel to it. I couldn't help but like the countdown they had going the last couple of weeks for the ensuring of a .500 season. It shows that this team's still got a ways to go before their serious contenders, but they've come a long way in a short time.

Looking back in this thread, I find myself hoping Deon is a gimmick poster.
-
Posada's state of mind with the bases loaded with less than two outs with a vet known for his control like Wells pitching, was likely that he'd see something right down the middle on the first pitch.
-
Man, it'd better not be Sox and Yankees getting the East and WC. But you just now that's how it's going to go down.
-
Man, this is how baseball should be. Cubs have been DONE forever, but I was pacing back and forth and a nervous wreck during the final innings of tonight's game. Mostly because I'd like to see Philly get the WC, but it'd be nice to see the Cubs at least end at .500. Whew, I'm spent.
-
And Novoa promptly gives up a two-run homer. It'll be Lidge time, so I'd say this just about kills the Phillies' WC hopes.
-
Nomar singles to give the Cubs the lead. Tavares bobbled the ball, but Lee was thrown out trying to score from first on the play.
-
Tribe have the tying and winning runs in scoring position with no outs in the ninth.
-
TheDon is quite easily the worst "fan" I've ever seen a team be so unlucky to attract.
-
It's sad to see how ungrateful the Boston media and much of its fanbase has become since last October. This is the same team that hadn't won a championship since the beginning of the 20th century. Finally winning it all last year obviously didn't give them a free pass for another eight decades, but the way this team has been lambasted from all directions, is unsettling, but not all that surprising in the grand scope of things.
-
Where the hell were you when we needed another White Sox fan to defend them?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, no kidding. Have you even posted in a baseball thread this season?

Pugs are disgusting. My girl's cousins have one and that fat bastard is constantly jogging around the house, wheezing and sneezing on anyone it comes near.
-
Wow, what a catch by Vernon Wells. That was quite the scoring opportunity that just went by the boards.

That Static-X one was pretty easy, even though WDT is fairly awful.
