You know, the Brewers are gonna be a real contender if they don't mess things up in the coming years.

Aaron Rowand sure makes a lot of bad breaks for flyballs. His latest blunder results in a double and Mr. Jenks blows yet another game. Indians don't look like they're about to give up their lead, so we're looking at a 1 1/2 game difference in the AL Central, people. This is incredible.

My friend's going to that, too. He finds a way to bring it up at least once a day. Hey, I just noticed my city's mentioned in your sig! Hooray ghetto Saginaw.

So can we expect more insane gas prices in the coming weeks?

Maddux was brilliant today, throwing 78 through eight scoreless innings. But for some reason, Dempster's in there for the ninth with the Cubs up 3-0. Maddux hadn't thrown more than 11 pitches in an inning, so I don't see why he's not out there to complete it.

Seven games with the Cubs. Say "hello" to your 2005 NL WC team, folks.

Cubs impressed me with the comeback against Turnbow, but how can you think Dusty's NOT trying to lose when he brings in the erradic Van Buren in a tied game in the bottom of the ninth? As soon as I saw him in, I knew it was over. PS- the Phillies would be nuts not to rob a team blind by trading Howard.

Corey Patterson reminds me of the kid in little league who didn't really wanna be there and was day-dreaming most of the time.

It's clear Prior isn't right. Another high-pitch outing, as it's unlikely he'll make it past five. Then again he does have eight strikeouts and has driven in the only two runs for the Cubs. Christ, that's depressing. I still don't understand Dusty's logic of having Neifi godamn Perez batting leadoff.

Jenks blows his second save in as many nights. Hawk's reaction to Rowand misplaying the ball that wound up being a double was priceless. "That one's hit to center...and Aaron broke the wrong way and he's got...no...NO...NO"

Could be worse. You could be a Cubs fan.

The downward spiral of the White Sox is getting more entertaining by the day. Now they're implying that Peralta may have his bat corked because the third base coach went and picked it up from the infield so quickly. Hawk: When's the last time you saw that? DJ: Makes you think. They're really reaching for straws now. They sound worse than the Cubs.

Derrek Lee has struck out swinging four times tonight, including just now with the bases loaded. Cubs managed to load the bases with no outs and then have the top three guys in the order do absolutely nothing. Doug Davis looks like Cy Young facing the Cubs, I tells ya.

Oh, but he's just playing the numbers! Seriously, if it works, it's all good, but I cringe watching tight Sox games in the late innings because Ozzie seems to empty his pen to get three or four outs.

AARON BOONE, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD! Put that in your micromanaging pipe and smoke it, Ozzie.

I was watching and the ball wasn't nearly as inside as Jeter would have you believe. Just because he does that stupid "stick his ass out as far as he can and lean over home plate real fast" thing doesn't mean it's inside.

My beef with the White Sox has been their shitty attitude all season. Ever since they got the cushy lead in the Central, they've done nothing but run their mouths on a near-daily basis. It's one thing to be sure of yourself and your team, but a great deal of these guys turned into arrogant assholes the moment they got some success. When they were on such a role, all you heard was "smartball this" and "Ozzieball" that. Podsednik's involvement on that roster created the illusion that this team wasn't a homerun-hitting team anymore. They were all about moving runners along and blah, blah, blah. Well, they still hit lots of homers and they still move guys along. But without the great pitching, that's not exactly a formual for winning. I can't stand Dusty Baker, but Ozzie isn't much better. He plays scrubs like Timo Perez because of "intangibles." Those are debatable, but the fact that he has god-awful numbers isn't. You wanna talk about how bad the Cubs fans are; hey, I'll give you that one. 2003 is beginning to look more like a negative than ever before. It gave us hopes of success each year and the fall from grace hasn't been taken in stride. But it's great how all these White Sox "fans" come out of the woodwork when the team is finally winning and now that they're not, they're freaking out like whiny bitches.

Off the top of my head, I recall DJ not talking about what they did IF they made the playoffs, because "we are going to the playoffs." And then on another telecast, Hawk was talking about their struggles with the A's and wrapped it up with, "well, I don't care, we're gonna kick their booties in the playoffs."

That includes their pompus announcing crew, who were talking about what they were doing in the postseason nearly everyday way back in late June. I'll be watching every White Sox telecast that I can from here on out just to hear those jackasses finally be humbled. And it's funny how many Yankees fans are damning teams losing to Boston, when none of it would be necessary if the Yankees themselves had actually taken care of their own business.

Bonds came within a couple inches of homering in his first at-bat of the season. It looked like a homer at first because a fan grabbed it, but they called it a double.

Cleveland last played the Sox when they couldn't get anything going offensively. It'll be interesting to see how the team, as it is right now, stacks up against the stumbling Sox.

Man, I thought I was bad with the Cubs. Some of you guys are ridiculous with "your teams." Relax already. I still don't buy Farnsworth. Let's see him come postseason.
