And it takes one inning to show why Macias has no business being in the outfield.
-
He had a poor 2004.
-
I fucking hate Dusty Baker. Nomar's in the lineup, but he still manages to get Neifi in there AND bat him second. Then he's got Macias starting his fourth straight game in center. This is a guy who was signed as a utility player, not a god damn starting player. And Hollandsworth is in right because, well, he is 3 for his last 34, so he must be due! And Murton rides the pine again. Fuck Dusty Baker.

The Cardinals are ridiculous.

It's so true. For years, I watched little more than Cubs games and whatever was on ESPN. Getting the MLB Extra Innings package has opened a whole new world for me. Now I've got the option of seeing virtually every start by the likes of Johan Santana, Chris Carpenter, Jake Peavy, Roger Clemens, Ben Sheets, and essentially everyone Al listed. I watch my fair share of Yankees games and to be honest, they get a bit monotonous. If you stick soley to the Yanks, there's so much more that you're missing out on. It's also stupid to blame expansion, since only four new teams have emerged since the '80s.
-
It's baseball. Over the course of 162 games, even amazing teams are going to drop some to terrible teams. Just how it works out. You seriously don't expect them to win every game, do you?
-
If he hadn't done so well in the derby, ESPN wouldn't be giving Abreu's slump any kind of attention. Even great players slump. It's stupid to judge a player's ability by a lone month of stats.

Well, of course! Don't you know that anything we say or do is connected in some way to CJ? Hell, he and I are the same person, remember?

You'd be right if the majority of my posts over the last year of so weren't within the sports folder. But nice try. Really not that much trouble at all. It isn't as if I sit around thinking of these things. I've explained my beef with Dames before. He seems like a nice guy, but a shameless self-promoter, who was more interested in having the connected site be a vehicle for anything he wrote instead of whatever was best for the site. Insipid, why? Because I wondered aloud why it's such deemed odd when someone actually knows something? I know you've always been on the "fun" side of the Content vs. Fun argument, so I wouldn't really expect you to agree. Posting pictures of Super Chicken is pretty fun, anyway. At any rate, I don't really wish to drag this out too much further. You can bash me for the types of posts I make, but to each their own. The majority of your posts around the circuit consist of flames with a variety of insults or threads about drinking a Big Gulp. I apologize if we can't all be as mature as you, Dave.

Never mind that you're ragging somebody for discussing pop culture on the internet (excellent work, btw). Let's get down to the real issue. You do know you're not ragging CJ, right? This is Bruiser Chong, Dave. You do know the difference between them, right? Because this seems like you just dug into the box of unused arguments for CJ, rather than actually rebut any part of what Bruiser had to say. In arguments, I think they call that a strawman. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's fine. Dave's clearly going a bit senile in his old age. But if being completely inaccurate while trying to crack jokes makes him happy after a long day of playing with inner-city kids, then god damn it, so be it. It'd be stupid to expect anything mature from the guy, even though he's old enough to be the father of half the board members here. This is the same guy who got his panties in a knot over board drama and created his own SUPER DUPER HAPPY FUN SECRET BOARD that only his dearest and closest "friends" (read: ass-kissers) could view.

There would be many broken items in my house if I had watched the end of the game instead of listening to it. But thanks to Ron Santo's reaction to Barrett throwing away the game, I was laughing too hard to get mad.
-
Come on now. I mean, if Bruiser had taken a shot at Dames, and then was so impressed with himself and so proud of that witty little comment that he went to all the trouble of quoting HIMSELF in his own signature, at another message board...now THAT would be whining. Oh wait... Never mind. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And where did I do this?
-
Funny you should mention this. My friend just went through this intense month-long thing with an incoming freshman who turned out to be quite the headcase. I'd say all the signs were there from the beginning, but he got himself in deeper. They finally met and she looked nothing like the pics she had sent him. He didn't wanna get into a relationship, anyway, so he sorta weasled his way out of the whole mess a week after meeting her. It was twisted, though. They had "known" each other a whole week and she was posting on her Xanga about how great he was and basically obsessed over him. Think Swimfan and that chick from Wedding Crashers. If you all want some light entertainment, I can give you her Xanga handle.

Don't worry, I'm sure things will balance out tomorrow. It's still a bit of a downer that they let Padilla get into the 8th.
-
It's funny 'cause Perez was a pinch-hitter, too.
-
Well, nice to see the old Dempster hasn't been completely washed away.
-
Isn't that what he has been doing?

What is said investment, if you don't mind me asking?

Paul Abdul under investigation in Fox 'Idol' probe
Bruiser Chong replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Who's Paul Abdul? -
I should add that the Angels have looked like ass against the Yankees. Cabrera should've had that grounder that would've ended the game. Instead, he bobbles, they tie and eventually win in extras.
-
Sorta wish they would've added another reliever, but with Lawton in there, Todd Hollandsworth should not start another game this season. There's absolutely no excuse for him to be in there with Lawton and Murton on the roster.
-
ESPN is reporting that Matt Lawton has been traded to the Cubs. No details on who yet, but I'd imagine Gerut would be involved.
-
Cubs en route to losing the four-game set with the D-Backs. Only the Cubs could give up a grand slam with two outs to the number eight hitter batting in the low .200s.
-
You may need a new sound card. I had the same problem a couple years ago and it was the sound card.

Not so much when the first place team is a game under .500. I don't think the Giants are legit contenders, but yeah, their in a pathetic division. I find it funny that they dealt their good, younger catcher.
