Dubois is making the most of a rare start in place of Hollandsworth.
-
He should just head to the AL where he doesn't have to worry about playing the field.

Giambi, Torre, and Cashman are having a closed-door meeting. Let the speculation begin! And just when Giants fans thought things couldn't get worse, Jason Schmidt is DL-bound.

Some buddies of mine and I usually get some football games going when it snows. Lot more fun than in the fall. We also partake in the occassional homerun derby during the summer.

Major League 2 was among history's worst sports movies. Blasphemy. Roger Dorn's reaction to getting hit in the back by the fastball alone is worth watching it.

He wasn't until his confidence was destroyed by being forced into the closer's role.

Ooo burn. I'll remember that one if I ever go back to the third grade. It's not really a joke when you think about it. There's no burn. It was incredibly lame, all the same. Dusty's defying the Tribe Co. by starting Hollandsworth, even after they reported that starting today, Dubois would be the starting leftfielder.

Ooo burn. I'll remember that one if I ever go back to the third grade. And on that note, the White Sox finally lose, hopefully shutting up their arrogant fans for a moment.

You know it's bad when Yankee fans have to celebrate victories over early season A's and typical M's.

As soon as the ESPN announcers get done blowing Jeter's defensive abilities, he boots a grounder up the middle from the slow Adrian Beltre.

Stewie's becoming the best thing about these new episodes. I thought it was a weak follow-up to last week's great episode. I don't get offended easily, but even I thought some of the gags were too over the line. But maybe it was because they weren't really funny.

I hope they show this on Sportscenter- foul ball goes into the stands at the Giants game and rolls near a girl who couldn't be more than seven or eight. She's excited about getting it, but it rolls into another roll and when she realizes it, she throws the most ridiculous tantrum over a foul ball I think I've seen. She sat down and started SLAMMING her water bottle into her leg and then pulled her winter hat completely over her face and buried herself into her mom's side. She was crying for so long that one of the Giants' crew members in the booth went down the next inning and gave her spoiled ass a ball.

It probably wouldn't have come to that if Mike Piazza could throw anyone out trying to steal.

Man, the Nationals are getting jobbed. Up 3-2 in the bottom of the eigth and a runner on first, a ball is hit down the left field line and touched by some dumbass fan. The Nationals immediately made the sign for a groundrule double, which would usually mean the runner who was on first goes back to third. But the umps decide to let the runner score tying up the game. What a crock of shit.

Charlie Manuel's stupidity leads to the first Cub win in over a week. Zambrano walked the leadoff man (Abreu), who then advanced to second on a wild pitch. A groundout sent Abreu to third, and a Ryan Howard groundout couldn't get the run in. So with Marlon Byrd do up, what happens? JOSE OFFERMAN TIME BABY~!!! Offerman K's in a good battle, but the real kick was that Burrell was available to pinch hit. Phew, my nerves are shot.
-
So the Cubs are still up 2-1 barring some offense from them in the eighth (HA!) and Zambrano is gonna try and finish it off despite throwing 114 pitches already. Could get interesting (which I don't want it to), because Abreu leads off in the ninth.

Gregg Zaun got his neck snapped back going into second trying to break up a double play and hasn't moved since. They're prepping to take him out on the stretcher. Hopefully he's okay.

Ooo, Cubs signed Darren Oliver to a MLC. In October they'll look back at this as the turning point for the NL Central champion Cubbies.

Celtics sure don't know how to go down with any class. Funny to hear the fans hopping off the bandwagon.
-
Doesn't really matter, since every team outside of them and the Brewers are playing like shit so far.
-
I'm hoping for a Sox downfall if for no other reason than to shut their annoying fans up. Go around the 'net and you'll find all these "fans" coming out of the woodwork to boast about how good they are and how bad the Cubs are. And they'll be gone once the Sox don't make the postseason again.

Yes it can. Derrek Lee is still hitting above .400 with nine homers and 32 RBIs and that certainly won't remain the case. If Roberts is still hitting this way in late June, then we'll talk.

*wonders if anyone ever reads ISportsFan's daily White Sox game summaries* And the streak rages on to seven! A shame, too, since the Cards have dropped three in a row.
