Will Chappelle's Show go the way of the dodo?
Bruiser Chong replied to syxx2001's topic in Television & Film
I've always liked Attel's stand-up act, but Insomnia is incredibly uninteresting. -
- Owen (hearing JR make the announcement was so surreal; I was almost numb, like, "He did not just say that.") - Hedberg (like I said, the first death in a while to take my breath away in shock) - Rick Rude (somehow didn't find out until a month after it happened) - Chris Farley - Christopher Reeve - John Ritter Plenty others, but can't remember at the moment.

Fallon isn't funny and I'm still mucho bitter over the Sox run last year. Take a guess if I'm seeing this or not.

Will Chappelle's Show go the way of the dodo?

Man, I hope so. I love Dave's material, but I've never gotten too much into his show. The fact that fringe fans quote it endlessly took away a lot of its appeal, too. -
And promptly released Johnson.

I think this was the first death in years that actually took my breath away and sent a chill down my back. The guy was clearly a drug user, but I never even considered the possibility of him dying anytime in the future. I'm glad that I caught the Hedberg/Lynch show back in November. RIP Mitch.

That'd be Push. One of Thomas' ex-girlfriends saw the opportunity to get her 15 minutes of fame and some cash out of the situation and sued him on the basis that the song was about her.

Why, are you gay?

Nope. My dad was an ass about perks like toys and videos, but he never did anything like that. My mom had that stuff happen to her all of the time when she was a kid, so she's never done anything remotely close to that. Hell, she's got more junk than I do. And he should be appreciative that his dad raised him and whatever, but like IDRM said, that comes with the territory. I can't stand parents who think they deserve some award for doing what they're supposed to be doing, just because there are so many parents out there half-assing it.

And what exactly is wrong with him? Other than only being able to understand about half of what he says, the awfulness that was Mr. 3000 and is his TV show, and the fact that he is playing a role originally performed by Spencer Tracy, not much really. Might wanna clear the wax out of your ears, because I have no problem understanding anything he says. And whoopdeefuckindoo, he's playing a role originally belonging to Spencer Tracy. Yeah, good reason to write it off. And for the record, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner has not aged well at all, so this is one of those rare occassions where I'm not vetoing the idea of a remake.

Have any of you actually seen the movie? I usually stray away from the run-of-the-mill "comedies" that flood the box office throughout the year, but this isn't one of them. It's not hilarious by any means, but it's got several legitimate laugh-out-loud moments and the story manages to run deeper than you'd expect. I think too many of you are writing it off because of Kutcher's participation in the movie, but he actually pulls his part of without a hitch.

I guess I'm the only one who prefers the track to the overrated crap that was Matchbox 20 after their debut album.

Stoney's back in the booth!

Eric Gagne's clearly hurting on the mound right now, but they've yet to yank him. I question the logic behind keeping him on the mound in a spring training game in this condition.

I grew up on Nick-at-Nite. When I got into it, they were airing shows like Mr. Ed, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dobie Gillis, Get Smart, Green Acres, F-Troop and even the occassional late-night SNL or Looney Tunes. The network was quality up until the mid-90s when they started to just import more crap from the late '70s like Maude.

Your 21st birthday isn't that big of a deal, since like Brian said, those who take it seriously enough have long since found a way to get wasted every weekend. Still, being legally able to buy booze can change people. I've got a friend who turned 21 in late January. He was never a big drinker, mostly just a social drinker. Now it seems that everytime we go out to eat or something like that, he's gotta have a few drinks. He mostly drinks beer, so it's not a big deal, but it's still annoying to see him suddenly be this self-proclaimed big drinker when it wasn't a big deal three months ago.

Jesus, how can anyone like Candy Shop? The lyrics are something a 13-year-old wannabe rapper would create and thing was gold.

Since purchasing MVP 2005, I've noticed that there's an occassional grinding noise (presumably where the disc is) that causes the game to freeze up for any given period of time, until the noise stops, the game resumes like normal and then the cycle repeats itself later on. It seemed to be getting worse and today, I noticed that it finally put a deep scratch into the game. Now it won't completely load when you go to play something in it. My girlfriend gave me this back in the fall and she had owned it since Christmas of '02, but rarely used it. Reading around, it sounds like there were issues with older models of the PS2, so perhaps this is connected. Anyway, any suggestions on what I should do? MVP 2005 is now worthless (and it's my second one) and the PS2 continues to have these issues. I'm considering buying both a PS2 and MVP 2005 and then doing the old switch-a-roo, and returning them, but if anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to shoot.

Yeah, I do miss walking through garbage-filled halls, pseudo-riots breaking out because someone stepped on another person's kicks, fake people, busy work, and constant headaches. Wait, no I don't. I've been out of high school for almost two years, and while I still bitch a lot, it's above and beyond better than my time in high school. Anyone who yearns for the days of high school and considers it to be the best time of their life is a sad person. That's fine if you had fun in high school, but you're really not saying much for yourself if you've experienced the best time of your life before you hit 19.

No, it was a metal piece that connected to the cable and plugged into some cheap tin-like prongs of the printer. I had my friend look at it today and he said it looked like the metal piece had broken off (which I thought, too) and that even if it went back in, the connection wouldn't be too secure. So basically, I'm going printer shopping tomorrow because this one can't handle to be sat on the floor. Goodie.

Here's an odd one. I have a postage scale on the same table as my printer. There's little room to begin with, so when I had to weigh a huge box this afternoon, I set the printer on the floor. When I put it back on the table, I noticed that a piece is no longer connected to the back of it. I believe it's the metal piece that connected the USB cable into the printer. There are four flimsy pins in the hole of the printer where this went, but I can't get the metal piece connected again. It actually looks like it may have broken off. Is this something than can be replaced or am I going to have to buy another printer because I set this one of the floor for three minutes?

Long relieve should be used when you have to yank your starter relitively early in the game (say fourth or fifth inning). Middle relief is exactly what the name implies. Set-up is in the eighth and closer's in the ninth, but usually only if you're winning by three or less runs. Otherwise, there's no need to run your closer out there in a non-save situation. It may not be a bad idea to bring your closer in when you're tied in the ninth or extra innings, though. Closer's are often the best pitcher's in the pen, so it makes sense to use them when the game's on the line.
