Let's settle this, once and for all.

I highly doubt you've heard anything similar to that too often in many years. Unless you're talking to someone who's living in another universe.

    history of ECW DVD

I pulled this one out of my DVD backlog this morning and it's gotta be one of the best features they've ever done for any DVD. It avoids being a fluff piece and considering they had to cram nearly a decade into three hours, I think they did everything justice. It's informing even for the most knowledgable fans (I didn't know about the workers have side jobs within the company) and works as a great nostalgic piece. Still, anyone who thinks that they need to revive the promotion is dead wrong. There's a reason why it didn't work out and it's much more complex than Heyman's logic about failing because they had no TV deal. The days of the hardcore style that made ECW what it was are long gone and any attempt to bring them back into style would just undo much of what WWE has been trying to accomplish over the past year (a safer in-ring style). This may lead to a less interesting product from certain points of view, but everyone needs to accept that the boom period for this type of wrestling is long past us now; there's no need to going trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. And for those of you who were complaining about the lack of matches, why not check out the ECW DVDs from a while back? A lot of the matches I see discussed about not being included in this set are available elsewhere on DVD. I know we often complain about material being recycled for WWE releases, so why would we want the same to be done with ECW footage? I'll take the in-depth feature over lots of matches since there are many other releases out there on DVD that can whet my appetite for the latter.

    Where to Get Tickets

It's in Detroit this year, so some friends and I would like to hit it up if possible. I believe tickets are already on sale, so I wanna get a move on finding tickets. Where's the place to look and does anyone have any approximate figures for what decent seats are going to fetch?

    Need Excel Spreadsheet

Long story short, my insane mom needs to view a file that can seemingly only be viewed through Excel Spreadsheet. Usually this progam is a part of Microsoft Works, but for some reason, it's not included in her MW package. So where can I get the program and download it on to her computer so she'll leave me the hell alone?

I'll give it a shot. Thanks, MiB.

    Where to Get Tickets

Obviously I'd be interested in a few tickets if possible.

    Chyna Doll on Stern 1/14/05

I was about to post that it wasn't so bad until I looked at it more closely. Ugh. And I for one think it's comical that she's sunken to this level. All those years with the company during one of it's best financial periods ever; she should've had a nice nest egg set aside, so there's no reason to feel bad about what she's become or been reduced to doing. To hell with people like this who think they're something special because they air their dirty laundry everywhere they go.

    Where to Get Tickets

I probably should've added a question mark in the title, too.

Let's settle this, once and for all.

What he said. I use it on rare occassions, but I usually try to avoid terms like that, as well as referring to it as MY team. They're my favorite team, but they're not MINE. No matter how much time and money you devote to a team, you're never really part of it, so it's stupid to use terms like that. We may pay their salary, but they're out there doing all of the work. We're just the cheerleaders and critics.

So with the "DVD War" coming up...

I wouldn't see a point in repurchasing several titles for the new format. Maybe new action movies or something like that, but classic films and TV shows probably aren't going to improve enough to warrant a repurchase. Plus, can you imagine how long it'd take for EVERYTHING to be released? The DVD format is almost a decade old and there's still a ton of stuff not out yet.

Is a Wrestlemania DVD set coming out ?

WM 2000 and WM X-7 are tough to find. Even though 18 is OOP, it's not really in high demand.

Who reads the TSM content site?

Article Manager was always a bitch to use for some reason. I seemed to encounter my fair share of issues with it while I was regularly contributing here.

Jeter. He makes some nice highlight reel plays, but he makes some asinine plays in between.

    And So it Begins

Uh yeah, that's why I said I must've thought it was 1994 or something when I originally read Mik's post, since I for some reason initially thought that there was no need for the Marlins to continue talks with Delgado since they resigned LoDuca. Delgado was a catcher when he came, but injuries sent him over to first base.

    And So it Begins

I read about the LoDuca resigning, saw that they still have interest in Delgado and swear to god I must've thought it was 1994, 'cause for a second I was wondering why they'd be in the market for another catcher (Delgado) when they just resigned LoDuca.

    Hotel Rwanda...

I had Tom Joyner in the Morning on the radio the other morning (for whatever reason) and they were going crazy over this one. They think that Jamie Foxx and Cheadle could both be up for best actor because of their respective roles, with Foxx being the likely winner between the two because of his name value. This sounds like my sort of flick. They described it as the kiss of death for an inter-racial couple and even regular couples (although I think they were joking about the latter).

    TV Shows on DVD

Feb. 8 is gonna be a big day for TV on DVD. In addition to the aforementioned Night Court S1 set being released, the first seasons of Fresh Prince, Murphy Brown, The Jamie Foxx Show, Miami Vice, The Wayans Bros., and even Full House are all dropping that day, too. And even though I swear this thread was asking for which shows you buy religiously on DVD and not what TV on DVD you've got, I'll throw down my list, too. - Aqua Teen Hunger Force V1-3 - Batman TAS V1 - Cheers S1 & 3 - Clerks TAS - The Critic - Dawson's Creek S1 & 2 - Dawson's Creek Series Finale - Family Guy V1 & 2 - Freaks & Geeks Complete Series (Yearbook Edition) - Just Shoot Me S1 & 2 - King of Queens S1 & 2 - Looney Tunes Golden Collection V1 - Malcolm in the Middle S1 - Married with Children S1 - Mary Tyler Moore Show S1 - Best of Mr. Ed V1 - Pee-Wee's Playhouse V1 & 2 - Sanford & Son S1-4 - Saved By the Bell S1 & 2 - Seinfeld S1-3 (Gift Set) - Simpsons S1-5 - Original TMNT S1 I've got basically all of the TV series on DVD that I want (speaking about the ones that are currently available. I plan on filling in the holes of subsequent seasons missing from series mentioned in the list, though. Since most of the shows I've got only have a few seasons out at best, I can't say which ones I purchase religiously. The Simpsons, Seinfeld, King of Queens, Batman TAS, and The Critic are the only ones I've gone out of my way to get on release day, though. Of all my TV sets, ATHF, the Simpsons, Seinfeld and King of Queens get the most play.

    Six-Disc HULKAMANIA DVD Set?

I'd be down. The first three releases are excellent by Hogan standards and include some fun stuff from WWF TV in the '80s that wasn't within the squared circle (i.e. Alfred Hayes getting sick from the Hogan health shake on TNT). The last three are pretty lackluster, although there's some good stuff here and there sprinkled in, like a SNME match against Bad News Brown, a lumberjack match against Ted Dibiase and a match from one of the Japan tours against Stan Hansen.

The OAO Jakks Classic Superstars Thread

I can't find the likes of Dibiase or Jake the Snake anywhere. For those who've got them, where'd you find them?

    Recent purchases

Once Upon a Time in the West ($6.99) and Leon the Professional DE ($14.99), both from Circuit City this afternoon. I also scored Big Fish at Best Buy for $10.99 thanks to some employee's error. I was there with a friend checking things out and happened to come across that and noticed a yellow sticker stating that it was $10.99. I'd figured it was bound for a price drop eventually, but this seemed to little for a movie that was just $19.99. It had another sticker on it that said it was $19.99. I checked the rest, and sure enough, all of them only had the $19.99 sticker on them. I looked closer and mine and saw the yellow sticker was for some Muppet release. I went to checkout knowing they more or less had to give to me at that price. The cashier rang me up for $21 and I asked why it said it was $10.99. He looked at it, checking to see if I had been low enough to actually change the sticker myself, but then accepted defeat and filled out a pricing error form and rang me up for the new total. It's odd, since I was looking into getting this title eventually, but getting it new for such a great price was a big pick-me-up this morning.

Talk me down from the ledge

That doesn't sound that fat. Maybe if she were like 5', but at that height, I can't imagine her being more than a bit chubby. And she's Italian, so I'm sure she was stacked.

    And So it Begins

Their chances look bleak, but no one knows what the future might bring. I have the feeling the Yankee dynasty will crumble within a few years. Remember the Blue Jays fared well in the AL East for a number of years. You mean it hasn't already? I'm aware that as a Cubs fan, I have little room to speak, but I'd say that for all intentive purposes, the Yankees' dynsasty at this time is non-existent. Kudos for getting to the postseason each year, but just because you do that and shill out millions for over-hyped players doesn't qualify as a dynasty.

The "K" key is only two over from the "H" key, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a mistake, as fitting as the typo may be.
