They can take solace in the fact that Carlos Marmol has gone from a lights out pitcher to Jorge Julio in the span of about four weeks.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Certain pet names, when used in a serious context, are real dated. My brother and his fiance frequently call each other "honey." I'm not sure if I've heard anyone use that particular pet name without any sense of sarcasm since like The Donna Reed Show. -
God damn it, Bob. Quit posting press releases and elaborate on Carell being an ass thing.

Your house must smell awful.

The Piledriver video is just dripping with gay overtones. Some of the facial reactions to the women walking by the construction site inadvertently make some of the guys look like they're cringing because a woman is walking by and breaking up the homo male bonding session. You know what? This show really sucks. You get the occasional good match, but were it not for the studio segments, I'd skip it almost every time. As it is, it's the one 24/7 staple I never miss.

Up All Night With MarvinisaLunatic Part 2 Non Gulag Edition

Especially when they reveal a preference of roller coasters over vagina. -
I didn't know it was possible not to have a general idea when that show was from. The majority of the guest villains were either dead or not far off when the series was getting its second life via syndication.

Or '60s even...

That'll happen against shabby teams. This might be it for Mulder. He's said he doesn't want to have any more surgeries. Zambrano's dealing right now. One hit (an Adam Dunn solo shot) and no walks.

I still don't buy the Cards as legit contenders, but if they absolutely feel they must make a move, Burnett is probably not going to cost any team a lot.

This week's PTW is worth watching if for nothing other than the Piledriver video. The sudden and completely random Vince McMahon as "one of the boys" near the end and the look on his face is priceless.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

I don't mind the cats that like being outdoors (so they don't meow all day) + are behavied and stay in their owner's yard or at least out of other's way/property. But yeah the ones that meow all the time because they, gasp, DON'T WANT TO BE OUTSIDE are annoying. Ditto with barking dogs that are left outside all the time. I talk to its owner pretty regularly and she says the cat always meows because it wants to go outside. Even if that's the case, deal with it. Our landlord allows cats if you keep them indoors, but no one's supposed to let their pets outside. A lot of people in the complex have cats and yet, hers is the only one you ever see outside. It doesn't help that this jackass in my building puts food and water out on our porch for the cat, even though its home is like only 20 feet away. -

Marvin's mindset is one of the reasons there are so many fatasses waddling around. "It's not that bad for you!" -

OMG IT HAS JUICE! Don't be silly and think you're drinking something that isn't shitty for you, just because it has juice. Juice, contrary to popular belief, isn't that great for you. Almost every juice has tons of sugar crammed into it to deaden the tart flavor. No sense in trying to argue with the nutrition label, Marv. It's not like I just pulled those numbers out of the air. -
Nice surprise to wake up to. Harden's a huge risk to stay healthy, but like Al said, the Cubs didn't give much up. Murton wasn't even the team's fourth outfielder, Patterson is pretty useless unless he's playing second, and Gallagher, while a decent prospect, is a bit redundant in the Cubs' system. The Gaudin addition just makes this a risk worth taking. Billy's got a habit of winning these allegedly bad trades, but even if Harden's arm flies off into the stands, the Cubs won't have given up much to get it there.

I hate people who own cats and then let them roam around outside all the time. I've got a neighbor who lets the cat out of the apartment constantly, and often leaves it out there over night. The damn thing was meowing like an infant all night yesterday. I subsequently got a stellar 30 minutes of sleep, which made me useless at work this morning. I'm considering taking the cat to another area where maybe the owner will give a shit about it. -
The NL needs all the help it can get. I approve.

Re: energy drinks. I don't really understand the reliance on them. Most of them, anyway. The majority are just glorified cans of pop. That Rock Star you're rockin' in the pic, Marv, has 46 grams of sugar, 48 grams of carbs, and 200 calories. And you drank THREE of those bitches? -
Czech's main problem is that he's lumping this in with all comic book movies. Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3, X3, and junk like that shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as TDK unless it's to state how inferior they are to the latter. Honestly, this isn't just any comic book movie adaptation. This is the second installment of a legendary comic book finally being done justice on the big screen. This isn't a lot of pretty CGI effects and colorful sets for the dummies and kiddies.

The Brewers are showing how important a good draft is. The Cubs could get in on trades like this if they weren't hung up on toolsy position players and pitchers who want to moonlight as football players. Anyway, this is a trade that you totally do if you're the Brewers. The NL is so weak that the Brew Crew had to be the wild card favorites before the trade. Assuming Sheets stays healthy (never a sure thing), they have a real shot at the Central. They're within striking distance of the Cubs. Unless the Cubs counter this trade with a trade of a Burnett or Harden, their regression could mean the Brewers overtaking the Central. It's a complete "win now" move, but when you're in the Brewers' spot, you make that move. Sheets is gone after this year and you can't just assume you'll only improve next year. The 2006 Tigers and 2007 Indians are proof that if you're in a position to make a real run at it all, you go all in.

I'm late to the party, but The Cool Kids' Bake Sale is the all-in-fun rap album my summer's been missing. I'm not generally crazy about materialistic-driven lyrics, but it's a forgivable if said material goods are classic shoes with a lime color scheme.

From everything I've read, no other team was close to offering a package comparable to the one the Brewers put together. And again, no team is going to unload its farm system for three months service, regardless of the stakes. Just because Seattle is an incompetent organization doesn't mean the Indians should or could have sat on C.C. waiting for a better offer to come around.

The Braves finally beat the Astros in 17 innings. It took the Tigers a mere 15 innings to put away Seattle.

But they got six players, Al. Six is better than just three. Check it. And with those six players, well, the O's will get that Sunday win, damn it.
