Torre better let Vazquez finish the game. He's through eight and only at 92 pitches. The way he's been throwing tonight and the way the Jays have been swinging, I don't see why he shouldn't at least let him go out there to start the ninth.

Al's looking like a baseball genius, as he advised me earlier this week to pick up Matsui. Since then, he's belted four homers and driven in more than 10 runs. Good stuff. And I think some of these umps are taking the hit batters thing too seriously. These are pros, but there are times when a pitcher unintentionally hits a batter. Thanks to the Red Sox/Yanks series, it looks like almost every hit batter is going to result in a warning or ejection.

That's what SNKT is for.

Thread already in the music folder where it belong, although it was started by an idiot.

The words of the reappointed WWE mod, Loss. I think it's a bad idea. I don't think your demeanor will change anything in that folder, nor is it nearly as entertaining as quasi-evil Loss. Whatever happened to that damn "heel turn" a lot of people thought you should make? Basically, Evil Loss > Nice Loss. Let's see how this nice Loss rolls, though, I guess.

I don't say shit about the "Thanks." It's that you're a complete idiot about things and barely post coherently. If this is what you're like after four years of refinement, you were probably bottom-of-the-barrel LivingWithStyle.com/SomethingAwful.com quality. Seriously, I've never heard anything insightful or new in a post of yours, and that you think you've got quality because you've been here a long time is laughable. Choken One was here forever and a day but we banned him for posting diarrhea that wasn't nearly as bad as yours. Exactly my thoughts. I think most people refine or improve their posting skills as their tenure on the board or any board increases. Even a lot of the good posters today were pretty bad when they first broke out onto the scene. Most of my posts at the old EZBoard were quite bad, but as time passed, I learned to do simple things like spelling, grammar and punctuation. This may be just a messageboard, but I don't think that it's asking too much for your posts to be readable. Not every single word needs to be spelled correctly, but simple stuff like basic grammar and those weird dots called periods should be a given when you've been posting on boards for a lengthy time. With that said, Drury, your posting skills haven't changed a bit since you began posting. It's a shame, too, since it's past the point where your age could be used as an excuse. It's too bad, though, since even when you stop posting things like, "Why do I get attacked oh well fuck it my Monday nights will be fine without having to be mentally abused by a bunch of people," you'll still have to learn to say something original or something that is an actual contribution, instead of echoing thoughts of others or saying something that's obvious, albeit, in a less comprehensive manner. Thanks.

Should be a good one tomorrow, as Clement goes head on with Schmidt. I'm torn, since I've got both guys on my fantasy team; then again, I need to tell myself it's freaking fantasy baseball. I think the Cubs have a shot if they can get Schmidt's pitch count up high early, since that Giants' pen is a mess.

Carl Pavano pisses me off. I've got him for my fantasy team and he looked to be on his way to a two-run complete game, until the wheels completely fell off in the 8th. He was at 90 pitches when the inning started and could only retire one guy, which was on a force out. As it is, he's given up four earned runs and knowing this Florida pen, will probably be charged with at least one more. Okay, I'm done.

They make Nair for Men now. Why not give that a shot next time out?

I'm not the only one who sees the irony of a statement like this about an Internet messageboard, am I?
-
On behalf of the incoming Cubs, I thank you for wearing down the Giants' already horrible bullpen.
-
Man, the Reds just plated 10 runs in the 8th inning to basically put away what was a 2-1 game going into the inning. Yep, real smart moving trading away Felix Rodriguez.

I'm always confused as to why Lee bats sixth, too. Barrett has been improved this season, but Lee would definitely be better served in the three spot. Personally, I think the lineup should read something like Patterson, Nomar, Lee, Ramirez, Sosa, Alou, etc. Veteran experience or not, Alou and Sosa aren't nearly the run-creators Aramis and Lee have been this season. Of course, there's some stupid notion among vets that they're entitled to things like hitting in the coveted spots of the lineup, but they've gotta put their selfishness aside and realize it's not what's best for the team. This was Bagwell's problem in Houston, when he was dropped to the fifth spot in the order. Past contributions shouldn't be forgotten, but by the same token, you can't keep guys in spots they clearly don't belong in just because they've succeeded in the past. As for Zito, I think he just had a career year. He doesn't have overpowering stuff and when he can't get that breaking ball for strikes, he's in hot water.
-
Pretty much how he's pitched all season long. Five earned runs, not that many strike outs. He's lucky he's got the Yankees offense behind now to back up his mediocre outings. And it doesn't hurt that the Dodgers have gotten to face the Pirates, but I think we've seen the end of the Marlins in 2004.

It may not be the role he's good at, but it's the role that he's been put into, nonetheless. Hawkins doesn't care for the closer's role, but he's doing what he can because that's what the team needs. Speaking of which, I heard that Borowski is going to meet up with the team in San Fran. Gotta wonder if Baker will stick with him or go back to LaTroy if he falters. Personally, while LaTroy has been shakey in the role at times, I much prefer him there than Borowski, who made just about every appearance into a rollercoaster of events, fast heartbeats and tingling left arms.

This week's fucking garbage. It's all about 8/10/04.
-
Kyle Farnsworth is trash. Absolute trash. His job is to get ONE out and he gives up a two-run homer. Loser.
-
Corey Patterson has to be one of the worst hitters in key situations. He just struck out with the bases loaded. Cubs are up by one, but Kent Mercker's coming in, so I doubt that'll be enough.
-
I don't even post in there, so nope. But nice try.
-
Or it could just be because the Expos are actually one of the hottest teams in baseball right now and the Cardinals pitching staffed issued about 247 walks last night.
-
Could be because the WWE folder has precisely five people who have a clue about what they're talking about and 500 who pretend that they do. Those who are genuine tend to go with popular sentiment, which is exactly why you've got a folder of hundreds who are seemingly all saying the same thing, while other boards, whose wrestling folders have about 10-15 regulars, have differing opinions, but are backed up with some substance. Hmm, interesting.
-
Just another thing. It's too bad intelligent discussion is such a taboo thing in that cesspool folder at the top of the forum. People get on the two mods who actually want to take on the unwanted task of making that laughing stock of folder somewhat credible and decent to go through. That's why I don't even get why both of them signed back up.
-
I'd imagine it's not because you have the opposite opinion on just about everything WWE-related, but rather, you come off at times as having such an opinion for the sole reason of standing out from everyone else or to start crap. And Drury fucking sucked. I'm glad someone finally got rid of him. Thanks.
