There's tons of wrestling references in hip-hop. One of the best examples of recent years is Ludacris' Word of Mouf Freestyle: I got junkyard dawgs, I'm rowdier than Rod Piper Instead of a gun, I'll pull out a stick from woodworkin The black Hacksaw Jim Duggin stay lurkin' I'm Soopafly like Snuka, I smack hoes The black rose with the dozen attack flows

And now Bibby fouls out, which may be an even bigger factor, since he was nailing everything at the end of the fourth. Glad to see he was so mature when he fouled out, though.

Insanity. They were talking about Game 4 and just how the Kings couldn't get too far down simply for momentum reasons. Little did anyone know that minutes later, the Kings would tie it in an incredible comeback. Cassell fouling out when the game looked to be locked looks huge now. I'll say this: if the Kings wind up winning this one, they're going to take Game 4, because the wind will be out of the T-Wolve's sail. To have such a lead at that point in the game and then blow it, it's devastating.

What's Mondesi's deal? I saw that he cited personal reasons, but is there any chance that these are outside of simply being unhappy that he plays for the Pirates? Wasn't this guy pegged for greatness when he broke onto the scene with L.A.? What happened?

Both have been on the DL for a couple of weeks.

That's tomorrow, actually.

I had a DVD one, but really, it was a bad purchase. I never really used it and didn't find it to be of much help. I found that I could get the same information (and more) for free around the 'net.

No kidding. I was getting ready to bang my head on the table again after I realized they were walking Jackson to get to Patterson. The way he's been swinging, I thought that may be caught but nope. Pretty much makes up for his poor performance today and ending the game yesterday with a strikeout.

Yes, because Duke the Dumpster Drose, the Goon, Max Moon, T.L. Hopper and Issac Yankem were so much more realistic than Hulk Hogan or the Ultimate Warrior. And boy, remember that classic workrate they brought with them, too? Man, those were some good times.
-
If they're anything like the others (which I'm sure they are), they're barebones. That's fine, I was just wondering. How much do these go for anyway? Now that I know my DVD player would play them, I might pick them up. I think they're around $20 each. And while these shows are great from a workrate standpoint, they're all very fun shows, especially Summerslam '89 and Royal Rumble '92.

Once again, Sergio Mitre has looked shakey through four innings, giving up 10 hits, but only three runs, thanks to three double plays. He's definitely not looking like starter material, but then again, he'll be pen-bound once Prior returns. And Bobby Cox just pulled a Dusty Baker, leaving Russ Ortiz in for 133 pitches, only pulling him after he loaded the bases. The reliever walked in the go-ahead run, by the way. A shame, as Ortiz was cruising until then, but his pitch count was pretty high going into the 7th.

I'd fine him simply for looking like the spawn of an alien and Emanuel Lewis.

But it's not like anyone cares about what irks you, so why make the thread? Especially when a thread regarding the same thing already existed.
-
Hell no. Good thing no one has to pay for this board. Well, everyone not named "Dames" that is.

Only the Detroit Tigers could score eight runs in an inning, giving them a 10-run lead, and blow it that same inning. Both teams were just insane on the offense today, but then again, over 20 walks combined will fatten the box score.
-
So a couple of things are centered, I don't see why a lot of people were making such a big deal about it. Clearly an error, but even if it weren't, I didn't find it that distracting at all.
-
Well, that Oswalt's a classy guy.
-
I was surprised by Walker doing so, but Corey's been doing that all year. He's got a lot to learn before he becomes a real threat at the plate.
-
Yeah, they handed the other Chicago team a tough loss today, too. The Rockies earned this victory today, as Jennings turned it completely around and ended up being the reason the Rockies won, not only because of his great pitching, but because he supplied the two-run shot that ended up being the difference. I find it a bit sad that a bunch of pinch hitters were able to cause that many problems late in the game and the 3, 4, 5 hitters went down the inning before with minimal problems.
-
I knew once Walker struck out this game was basically over, as Patterson is simply not a patient hitter. If he can learn to take some pitches, he'll eventually improve greatly, but that at bat right there showed his naive ways as a young hitter. Looking back, I almost wish Goodwin hadn't made it to third because it just makes it even harder to swallow that they had the tying run 90 feet away with less than two outs.
-
I just don't fucking understand this team. I selpt through the game, because I had an awful feeling. I wake up to see they were manhandled by the Mariners. I just don't get it. It's called baseball. Have you ever heard of a team going 162-0 or anywhere close to it? As tough as it is to swallow, every team loses their fair share of games during the season. And damn the Twins. This is the second time in a week that I've stayed up to watch the game, just because I couldn't imagine watching so much and missing the ending. Joe Nathan blows his first save of the season after a fairly comfortable two-run lead in the 8th. And Santana gets his ass kicked around, which makes sense since I just picked him up last week after dropping Nomo. At least I had Zambrano's gem level things out.
-
Better move then, since that's the eight-disc version they're only selling on the site and from the sounds of it, they're legit that they're cutting off production after a certain number is released (the specific figure escapes my mind at the moment).
-
Well, Zambrano goes the distance, only giving up two hits, one of which is erased in the game-ending double play. Awesome performance by Carlos, which bodes well especially for me, since I've got him on my fantasy team. The Cubs looked great today and tacked on 11 runs without the long ball. Granted, Estes' lack of control helped matters greatly, but the Cubs were actually able to take advantage of the chances.
-
Can't help but pity Estes a bit. I want the Cubs to win, obviously, but he just fell apart early in this one and I was hoping that they'd go to the pen early, so I wouldn't have these torn feelings about the Cubs laying the smack down on the Rockies. And good god did Burnitz take a hit on that Patterson double.
