Making this board viewable to members-only isn't going to change anything. People would just register an account and then lurk. Maybe post a handful of times so their accounts aren't deleted. I still say the registration freeze should've never been lifted. I'm not saying to be an elitist board, but after a while, enough's enough. The place isn't capable of getting any bigger unless you're willing to dump even more cash than you already to for a bigger server.

Butt Plug: Simpsons Season One DVD Review
Bruiser Chong replied to JasonX's topic in Television & Film
I wasn't around to see the Flintstones air in prime time, but I think anyone who's watched the Simpsons over the years should be aware that they were indeed shown in prime time, since Fox made a big deal of it when the Simpsons have finally surpassed the series for the longest-running animated prime time series. -
How deep. It is indeed very homosexual that they made those edits. Anyway, I'm actually pretty intrigued by the cover art and overall look of the package. One of the better looking ones they've done. But seeing as how I was bored to tears with the event, the extras sound like nothing but fluff that wasn't interesting the first go-around, the packaging would probably be the best part of it for me and there's no way I'm shelling out 20 bucks for a nice box.

You know, if funds are short and in need, perhaps it's fate trying to tell you people something. *coughcloseupshopcough* Excuse me, it's been a bit chilly this week. Must've caught something.

Eh, the Pirates are looking absolutely pathetic lately. They've got some young talent, but they seem incapable of taking advantage of opportunities. I thought they were going to make things interesting in the ninth when Wilson led off with a double and they had the heart of the order coming up. Of course, they proceeded to go down in order. And the Yanks looked horrible tonight. AS complaining tonight is justified. And you know things are slow when A-Rod getting an infield hit is considered a big success.

I think reopening registrations was one of the dumbest moves made around here in a while. I don't mean that to be a dick, but honestly, is this what you guys had in mind when you said new posters would freshen things up? I thought glennsoe was bad in the WWE folder, but this other new guy is starting a fresh thread for every minor tidbit that has WWE's name attached to it. I thought that was something that was going to be worked on to eventually be phased out. Or did I just imagine that?

And a game that is totally meaningless even this early in the season, the D-Backs vs. the Brewers, is finally over after 15 innings of play. I saw this was still on when I got back from class at 4:30, but couldn't believe it kept going and going and going. D-Backs finally put two across with two outs in the 15th and the Brew-Crew went down in order in the bottom half of the frame.

Not like I'm a big defender of the guy, but how is it Bowa's fault that his big guns couldn't come through in the clutch, his closer blew it tonight and his defense opened the door for a Florida comeback? You can blame the guy all you'd like, but the manager only has so much control. He's not up there taking swings. He's not out there fielding. He's not out there pitching. Granted his attitude may affect his team, but you can only blame the guy so much before you're forced to shoulder some of the responsibility for your shortcomings.

And it's official: the Phillies are incapable of beating the Marlins.
-
This will be a HUGE disapointment if they can't get him in with no one out and the heart of the order up.
-
I figured that once the Phils retook the lead here, it'd be over since Wagner was coming in. I come back five minutes later after hearing the announcers say what a crazy game it is and see that it's now tied. Phillies fans will riot if they lose.

Great day for baseball. Cubs blow the Pirates out, Astros go down and the Reds manage to blow a two-run, ninth-inning lead and can't come back. Not taking advantage of the LaRue leadoff double in the ninth proves to be very costly. And even though the Cubs blew the Pirates out, they are going to have to address this Borowski situation. He's lost velocity in the offseason and hasn't had a 1-2-3 inning yet this season. He gave up the shutout tonight and didn't look very good at all, as the Pirates hit him quite well. I'd have my finger on the button to bring in Hawkins into the role, if I were Dusty.

I was watching King of Queens but flipped over to the game just in time to see Lowell take one out of the park. Watching him up there, I just got the feeling he'd take it out. I don't like the Marlins, but seeing Phillies fans go apeshit is just something I take a sick pleasure in. Sorry, Al.

When you pitch like that, you're lucky people call you anything that starts with a "J." Mitre was the first out of the inning and that was a sacrifice. The Pirates' poor defense really didn't help matters, as there were three very questionable plays made, two of which were Craig Wilson's doing. Oh well, with Mitre pitching, you never know if the Bucs will make a game of this or not.

The Cubs absolutely destroyed Jason Fogg, who couldn't even get a single out and has been pulled from the game in the Top of the 1st. 5-0 Cubs and 3-0 Cards in the 1st. Things are looking good tonight.

Fluff = not hard news or newsworthy. I.E. what J-Lo had for lunch today and where she shopped.

Matsui's hardcore, mang.

You guys got lucky the Lee messed up the hit and run, otherwise, there could've been some trouble. Of course, had Williams caught the flyball, there wouldn't have been any problems. Ah well, the Yanks look like they're gonna keep tacking on a run everytime the Sox score.
-
It's now 8-7. I'll tell ya, if the Sox actually make the comeback in this one, I think AS will finally be justified in some bitching. In the first inning, the Yanks looked to be on pace to win this one 28-1, but now the Sox have chipped away at the lead slowly, but surely.
-
So what you're saying is they should've used the same gag in this episode that they used that one? Just because they didn't follow the same formula doesn't mean he wasn't poking fun at himself. If you people think he's taking himself seriously in Sunday night's episode, you have some problems because I thought it was quite clear that he was doing anything but that.
-
And the Yanks are absolutely bitchslapping the Sox. Seven - 0 and the Yanks are still batting in the first. Speaking of bitchslapping, the Cubs are laying a pretty good beating down on the Bucs, 8-0.
-
And say what you will, but the Cubs are a fun team to watch most of the time.
-
Good start for the Cubs, as they send the entire lineup to bat in the first, scoring four in the process. Is it always that empty for a Pirates home game? I know they're not exactly World Series material, but that crowd's depressing. And that was a web gem from Walker, if I ever saw one.

I'm not a big Atmosphere fan, either, but I remember thinking he looked a lot like John Cena in the Tryin' to Find a Balance video.

Nah, I don't hate Family Guy, but I think most of the praise it gets is well-deserved. Whereas the praise that Futurama gets isn't. That's my opinion, simple as that. I gave the show a shot and thought it was okay but it was never the "next Simpsons" like so many wish to believe. I think the fact that in almost every Simpsons thread, at least one person saying how Fox needs to bring back Futurama is a pretty good sign that the show definitely gets a good amount of love from this place. No, but people giving mad props to a show that I on a personal level found to be average at best doesn't exactly make it any more endearing to me. On the contrary, actually. I don't try and go against the trends, but when people obsess over something that honestly isn't that good, it tends to appear even more flawed than it already is.
