It's also this man's birthday:

I don't agree with Dam too often but this is exactly what I thought. The fact that Groening was practically begging everyone around him to let him give them his autograph among other things seemed to be a shot at himself. Not some weak subliminal promotion for Futurama. I guess I'm back to disagreeing with him. I can't stand Futurama. It's an okay show, but the way people slob all over its knob, the show suddenly drops a few (hundred) notches in my book.

I'm a G-Unit fan but I can absolutely not stand the laid back singles they've got out right now (Wanna Get to Know Ya and the one with Joe). They've always rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it's just because it's so different than what they do the rest of the time. And Banky, why are you disapointed at how the thread has turned out?

I ask for the sweet love of god that you avoid J-Kwon like the plague. This guy has one hit wonder written all over it and the track isn't even that good after hearing it approximately 103,832 times since it became a popular tune. If you're more into the production and not the lyrical content, that sounds like the recipe for almost anything Lil Jon has ever touched. The Diplomats (Cam'ron's group that includes Juelz Santana) is also a good source for hot beats and even some okayish lyrical substance. Since the Neptunes basically backed up Clipse on their debut, most of their songs are good in the production department. Here are a few name tracks you can check out from these guys to see if you like the general style: - Knockin' Heads Off (Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz) - Throw It Up (Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz) - Bia Bia (Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz) - Put Your Hood Up (Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz) - Never Scared Remix (Bonecrusher, Cam'ron, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes) - Dipset Anthem (Diplomats) - Santana's Town (Juelz Santana) - Virginia (Clipse) - Grindin' (Clipse) Keep in mind that not all of these have the commerical appeal that shit like Nelly, J-Kwon and Chingy, so if that's your cup of tea, you may not like this. I think a lot of it's underated, but that's me. If you have to get a Chingy song, get Represent, which is one of the less offensive songs I've heard from the guy. And just so the mainstreamers don't feel left out in the cold, you may wanna check out Ludacris' Blow it Out and Southern Fried, probably the only two tracks off his latest CD that I can stand.

Get ready for HD-DVD format confusion!
Bruiser Chong replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
This has been all over the place and I think we've got nothing to worry about. Everything about it is so uncertain at this point and while I'm sure there will be those who make the upgrade, too many people have invested so much into the standard DVD format, that they'll never fully abandon it. Hell, VHS is still around. It's not as dominant as it once was, but DVD has yet to fully eliminate it and it's become the primary form of media in the last several years. So don't toss out those shiny discs and DVD players just yet. -
Did we really need yet another topic about how the Simpsons fall from grace continues? You people are beating this dead horse more than the folks in the WWF folder are with the HHH horse. Calling it the worst episode is beyond stupid and I guess it won't surprise you that I thought it was pretty funny. I didn't care for the Homer / Marge subplot, but I though the overall show delivered some good laughs. The series is clearly not what it once was, but for the love of all that's holy, stop making threads every week to announce it.

Cubs are lucky they got the Lee GS, since they ended up loading them up again with no one out and didn't get anything out of it. Still, barring some horrible Reds comeback, it looks like we'll be splitting this series.
-
Clement stumbles in the seventh, Baker wisely pulls him and Farns gets them out of the inning with no damage done. And Lee finally gets his first home HR as a Cub with a grand slam off of Wagner, who's looking like the complete opposite of how he pitched against the Cubs opening day.
-
I'd just like to point out that Clement is nearing 100 pitches and we're heading into the seventh. Since he just hit for himself, you'd figure he'd be left in for that inning, but hopefully, if he stumbles in the least, they'll pull the hook, as they can ill-afford another incident like Saturday. Speaking of Clement, if that first inning hadn't been that way, this would be an excellent outing for him, but it could've been much worse. He's been in the zone since then, but one has to wonder how much longer he'll keep it up now that the pitch count is really becoming a factor.

She's also out of the industry now, almost as quickly as she got into it. I saw her in action and she wasn't bad.
-
Nah, I think the Dodgers would be getting the shaft on that deal.

13 games in and A-Rod is still not hitting?! Blashphemy. Might as well trade him for Antonio Alfonseca and Bobby Cox's pet bird, eh? Unless someone else is posing as A-Rod, he'll come around. Relax.
-
Actually, I think the way they're used on the show is quite clever. I know it's a sitcom and those almost always involve kids, but I get tired of the same old family sitcoms with the annoying kids. I like how in this show, they're more background characters than anything.
-
I'd agree that the Reds are looking better than the Cards at this point, but once the injuries begin to pile up for the Reds (which you'd have to figure they will), I'd look for them to cool off considerably.
-
When you just barely edge out the opposition by a game to win the division, it's never to early to worry. I expected a back and forth game today, and unfortunately, it didn't go our way. I think the starting pitching has been okay lately. Mitre is of course going to have his ups and downs, Zambrano is still very reliable, Clement is definitely spotty (but then again, he always has been), Wood is still solid and Maddux didn't look awful today like he did during his last start. I think things will pick up once Sosa and Lee really start to heat up, as they're traditionally slow starters.
-
Which should be out of the question considering how much is spent to keep the current forum and site running. And with Dames out of the picture, I highly doubt any of the current mods are going to be reaching into their own pockets to foot the bill for this joint anytime in the near future.
-
I still say you can't completely blame this all on Maddux. Wrigley is nearly impossible to pitch in when the wind is blowing straight out and it was doing just that today. Granted, he got tagged for seven runs and had several BB, but he looked a lot better today than he did in his first two outings. He was also not getting too many calls going in his favor which has been a trend in this series.
-
Welp, Reds got a break in the way of Sosa not picking up on the ball and the Cubs had their chance in the 10th, so the Reds earned this one today. I think they need to evaluate the Borowski situation, because he's clearly lost something over the offseason and it's starting to cost them.
-
We go to the ninth in Chicago tied nine all. Hawkins has been lights out so far, so one has to wonder if they'll stick with him for the ninth, since if the Reds are kept scoreless, we could be looking at extra frames.
-
Yeah, but sometimes, it's just too annoying to overlook. And the Cubs have tied it on an odd triple from Patterson. Unfortunately, Sosa grounds out on the first pitch to end the inning. A lot of the guys are clearly overanxious to hit it out of the park today because of the wind and it's causing them to swing at some pretty bad pitches.
-
Yeah, but the umpiring has made it a very frustrating one at times. Reds back in front again, but still, a long way from over.
-
And as an aside, the umpiring for the Cubs / Reds game has once again been very questionable, especially at home plate.
-
In Maddux's defense, he's been pitching very well today aside from a few select pitches, several of which have left the park. But then again, the wind is blowing straight out at about 45 mph, so you can't place all of the blame on Maddux here. High scores from both teams were to be expected today. The wind is crazy here today as evident by a great play by Griffey taking a hit away from Sosa and Alou following it with a TRIPLE over Griffey's head after he misplayed it. And that was followed by another one over Griffey's head from Ramirez. Alou's just a single away from the cycle. This one's a long way from over. And the highlight of this game so far is the obese shirtless guy in the bleachers with "I ate Bartman" written across his chest.
-
King.of.Queens. That is all. I've been waiting for this one to drop since last November, when season one was released. One of the most overlooked sitcoms of the last 10 years, right here.
-
Hey, what do you expect? The umps have been just horrid all weekend in this series. Unfortunately, we've still got two to play before it's over.
