Blazing Saddles: 30th Anniversary Edition
Bruiser Chong replied to MrRant's topic in Television & Film
See, if you guys read the DVD Discharge, you would've known about this and the specs weeks ago. -
He probably should've also put them up on some of his own webspace.

Apparently Banky lives in Indiana now.

Crazy game with the White Sox and Royals. Sox led 6-0 at one point and eventually gave up four in the ninth to trail by one. Cept the Royals' closer loaded the bases up with no one out, Konerko popped it up and instead of getting to the ball, the RFer let it drop thinking it'd be foul. Except it was fair, which tied the game up. And now it's over after a hit that would've been extra bases had the game not been tied already. And to think, it started with a walk and an error.

I'd be happy if the Cubs could just churn out at least five runs every game instead of double-digit numbers every now and again with dismal offense in between. They're hitting quite well today, aside from Patterson, who's gonna be a good hitter once he learns some patiences. And good lord, I figured the Cards would take at least one from the Stros. I guess not.

Why should anyone have to wade through 100 pages of things like "OMG JERICHO" just so they can find the part of the thread that actually begins to discuss the show? I understand that some people enjoy the show more when they're at their computer furiously clicking "refresh" to see their fellow smarks repeat essentially the same thing on one portion of the show, but hey, isn't that what chat rooms are for?

IIRC, in the book, the Narrator (Norton's character) and Marla both die, as well as Durden, hence the "Hollywood ending" where only Durden dies. As for the movie, I enjoyed it a lot and think it's been very influential, but it's very overrated, IMO. It's a great movie, but too many people carry out the praises too long for my liking. I think it has something to do with Fight Club being a complex movie that on the surface, is easy to grasp a hold to, which makes just about any viewer feel smarter and like they're watching some deep, thought-provoking and intellectual piece of cinema.

BREAKING F'N NEWS!!!! BREAKING F'N NEWS!&#
Bruiser Chong replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Sports
And hopefully we can return to our reguarly scheduled program, instead of cutting to Bonds everytime he wipes his nose. Congrats to him, though, although I'm a bit apathetic, since this is obviously tainted. -
Okay. So it's just whatever Bruiser Chung doesn't think is meaningful should be deleted.... Well thanks for clearing that up. Well, I'm not the only one who thinks it should be deleted, but whatever, I wouldn't want to disrupt your stay on Cloud Nine, where only THA EVIL Bruiser Chong disputes some of the things that go on here. See that's the thing. At times it could be worth reading, but guess what? Up until the show is actually over, there's little to none posts that do anything other than depict what's happening at that very moment on the show. And those that skew from that formula, are quickly buried by the aforementioned posts. That's the whole point of the analysis thread: to discuss the show after it's over, which is essentially when the most discussion takes place now. The only difference is the mods have decided to separate the throwaway PBP from the actual discussion. No one challenged how popular it is. It's clear that many like it, but there are plenty that don't. And honestly, you can't always go by hits when judging a thread's popularity, otherwise there were entirely way too many people who liked the cockshots thread.

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I pitched the basic premise for this idea to Dr. Tom last week, except I suggested the RAW thread be deleted once the show was over since it was such a vast wasteland of nothing and a huge drain on the bandwidth of the place. Because whatever the great and mighty Bruiser Chong doesn't like to read should be DELETED! Nah, I just figured that since there's rarely anything meaningful found in those threads (even most of the people who post in them will admit it), there's really no purpose for them to be retained since they do take up a lot of bandwidth. I'm not alone in thinking that if it's taking up bandwidth while providing no real lasting quality, it shouldn't be kept. But thanks for playing.

That doesn't sound like the talk of any 14-year-old I've ever met.

I would hardly call this idea being put to use any type of abuse of power. Anyone who says so is just being anti-establishment for the sake of it. With that said, I didn't catch most of the show but I will say that the return of Christopher makes no sense because A) I doubt they have anything for him B) He's useless without Scotty and vice versa and C) He got squashed in his first night back. Not exactly the way to get him back over with the fans, if you ask me.

In all fairness to the Cubs, Baker had the same mentality long before donning a Cubbies uniform.

Dudley Boyz Heel Turn?; Funaki Update & Raw Roster
Bruiser Chong replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
This was reported in one of the WO threads a couple of weeks back. This was also reported in the same WO thread, not to mention the whole Dudz heel turn has been repackaged as news (and reported here) three or four times since they moved to SD! Not exactly news here, since all of these were fairly obvious on RAW. -
*looks over to Mark Prior and his bum elbow* Yeah, those high pitch counts make you a man, dammit.

Oh, I see. I cant be happy that the Reds win? I can't be a smart ass like the others are torwards the Reds? Well hell, look at that. I'll gladly leave TSM if you think I'm annoying. I wouldn't want to upset those Mighty Cub fans would I? No way. Dude, don't get your panties in a bunch. You act like everyone done nothing but shit on the Reds, when that doesn't even seem to be the case. You act as if everyone's been all over the Phillies, when the most recent praises I can remember were from Al who simply was being opptimistic. Anyway, this simply isn't the Cubs' day and I've gotta say that the Maddux acquisition was a bad idea unless he can actually even somewhat resemble what he did in Atlanta. Pratt is utter garbage and the Cubs' hitting has been dismal today. The only thing that kept them in the game was the Pirates' god-awful defense. One bright spot today has been the fans, who while they've been brutal to the pitchers, have been highly-entertaining in some of their comments and I couldn't help but laugh at the standing ovation the first strike of the inning in the 8th got. And I agree with the blonde during the 7th inning stretch. I think it was pretty obviouos the camera guy had a little something something for her, since he panned back to her three times.
-
October Blood looks like he'll be to the Reds what Mik at Cornell was to the Marlins all last season, albeit, much more annoying.
-
The Pirates' poor fielding (three errors on three consecutive plays) and mental lapses at the plate (loading 'em up with one out and getting nothing because of a missed sign) has helped put the Cubs back in the game.
-
Jesus, I just got home and Maddux is already down five against the Bucks? Good god, what a poor move this has been thus far.
-
78% of everyone will tell you that.
-
From most accounts, it seems to favor the hitters. That's the impression you'd get from most commentators, anyway.
-
In all fairness, a couple of those pitches looked to be very close to the strike zone and were called balls.

Strong words from a supposed Yankee loyal. I guess anything can happen when you still have EIGHT innings to play, eh? I know you're all about never losing, but seriously, the way you immediately begin to shit on the Yanks everytime something doesn't go there way, is a bit bothersome. Clearly they should be tearing the competition up with that lineup, but you're way too critical of them when they make any mistakes. Why not lighten up? You may think of yourself as being loyal, but loyalty includes being behind your team when it's not all sunshine and roses. And while you've never abandoned them, you certainly throw in the towel at the first bump in the road.

I was at the RAW show, so to clear a few things up: - Molly and Jazz were eliminated from the match within two minutes, leaving Victoria and Lita to conduct a very boring match, with basically nothing but restholds. Technical or not, I'm not a fan of nothing but restholds. At least Lita passed on the punching offense, which she's so horrible at. - Tajiri vs. Cade was dull at some parts, but probably the best match on the card, with Tajiri hitting all of his key spots. People were pretty bummed by the classic heel grabs the middle rope for leverage to get the pin finish. - I've covered what went down in the Eugene match in other threads, but basically, his win was a fluke as he didn't even know he was pinning A-Train. This gimmick is going to bomb. - The Shelton / Orton match a very interesting concept and a chance to train the fans to sit through longer matches that aren't the main event. Unfortunately, at this point, neither guy is really capable of putting on a 20-minute match (and it was 20-minutes, no cutting corners), so it was extremely dull the majority of the match. The only really interesting portions were both falls and the last minute of the match, which featured your typical "attempt as many pinfalls as possible" formual for matches that end in draws. After the match when Orton had already left, Fink of all people got a round of applause going. Shelton wasn't nearly as over as I thought he'd be, although the dismal crowd could have something to do with that. - The Christian / Jericho match was possibly the best one of the show, but didn't break away from their typical match, minus most of the big spots. There was one sequence in the match that I found to be particularly interesting. Basically, it was lifted spot-for-spot from the Matt Hardy / Jericho match this past Monday. I was expecting a Trish run-in once Christian got put in the Walls of Jericho, but nope. - Most people were confused about the Hardy / Palumbo match, since both guys have been playing heels. Hardy wasn't over as a face (or at least, didn't get much of a response either way) and his Matt Fact was pretty lame (basically calling Palumbo a bastard with an endless string of adjectives preceeded it). There was an odd sequence where Hardy was leaning against the middle rope in a daze and slid out of the ring, landing right on the bell, which confused a lot of people. - Benoit was probably the most over and got the best match out of Batista that you could expect. Everyone popped huge for the finish and seeing Tajiri out there with Benoit was a bit odd, but a nice visual (as was the mist on Garrison).

The Braves' intentionally walking Hollandsworth to get to Barrett backfires, as Barrett launches as three-run homer, making this one 7-1.
