No, I've always liked the blue ones, as well, but then again, blue's my favorite color. I think the grey ones are just too dull, while the blue ones simply stand out.

Bad base-running from the Cubs, who just ran themselves out what could've been a more productive inning. Hopefully that doesn't come back into play before the game's over.
-
Yes! That's the spirit. With "fans" like yourself, the Yankees really don't need any of their detractors.

That's 1 Eastern time, folks.

The Eugene Character Was Nick Dinsmore's Idea
Bruiser Chong replied to BoboBrazil's topic in The WWE Folder
I was at the RAW house show tonight and Eugene had a "match" with A-Train that was basically A-Train dominating, while Eugene kept going back to the torn stuffed Easter Bunny that A-Train had destroyed before the match. Eugene had minimal offense (all punching and the like) and eventually won, after A-Train knocked himself out and Eugene was just leaning up against him as he put his attention on the torn Easter Bunny. If you guys were expecting him to actually bring it in the ring, prepare to be disapointed, if the house shows are any indication. -
Care to explain why I'd even comment on them if I hadn't heard them? I've never made a habit of forming an opinion on something I hadn't been able to evaluate myself, so that makes absolutely no sense.

On the radio, yes, they own everyone, but on Fox Sports Ohio, no. But when did I say they were? We were talking about TBS and WGN, moron. Hilarious how you change it to the Reds. Typical garbage. But I will give you this .. there is nobody as bad as Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. I'm aware of which teams we were talking about but as a Reds fan, you don't have a whole lot of room to talk about poor commentating teams. There's nothing really wrong with the TBS announcing duo, except that they lack any semblence of emotion. I'm quite aware that Carey isn't that great, but you can tell he really loves the Cubs and isn't just out there for his paycheck. Also, I see nothing wrong with Stoney.
-
Yeah because the Reds' announcers are sooooo much better.
-
Certainly not the worst team ever or even of recent times, but the 1997 Cubs' 0-13 start got them a spot as one of the worst Cubs teams in the last decade or so, even though, the 2000 and 2002 teams were worse, standings-wise.
-
Why are you watching TBfreakingS? It's all about WGN, yo. And the Cubs win, my heart hurts a bit, but it was worth it.
-
IIRC, there are a handful of games throughout the season that aren't carried but for the most part, they are. And the Cubs finally score in the 15th and thank god, since it looked like they may blow it again. Now let's see if they can hold them down in the bottom of the inning.
-
Perez came a couple feet from one a few innings ago. These guys are running out of bench and pitchers. It's reminding me of the Cards / Cubs game last September that went 15 before Sosa hit a homer to end it.
-
Yeah unless you watched the replay where he was clearly safe. But god, you just gotta feel that all these wasted chances by the Cubs are gonna come back to bite them in the ass. Patterson looked awful in that at-bat. I'm sure I just jinxed it.
-
Yeah, the Yanks' bats better start coming to life because there really isn't a truly weak bat in the lineup the majority of the time. No way should they be getting crushed or barely winning games. Although in all fairness, they're in the spot they're in today because of poor pitching and defense.
-
Well, the Yanks and Brewers simotaneously fell apart here. Both games were tied and now one's 11-2 and the other's 7-1.
-
Wow. The Yanks draw four walks in the same inning...and do not score. I'm not sure if even the Cubs could've pulled that one off. Now, a single turning into an inning-ending double-play; that's a different story. And Al, I agree that speed is overrated, but it also helps to have a couple guys in the lineup capable of getting on base from a bunt and generally causing havoc for opposing pitchers once they get on base. When the Cubs do get on base, it's rare that it's a guy who's a base-stealing threat.
-
Precisely. This is where they were showing improvements last season after they acquired Lofton (a true leadoff hitter). Him usually getting on to start a game often set of a chain of events that usually equated to at least one run. They've really got no speed in there aside from Patterson and you can bet that they'll have him run less once he starts piling up the big power numbers.
-
Because he posts every single little tidbit, regardless of how insignificant. Nevermind that there's zero opinion added in to make the post seem somewhat justified. Seriously, shit like this is what needs to be erased from the folder and the same trash that people like Loss was trying to stop in here. Well, it hasn't stopped (gotten worse actually) and gee, I wonder why he's stopped his mission to turn this folder around.

I think that the Cubs should just move Patterson to the leadoff hitter's slot. He's got the speed, makes more contact and is more of the leadoff man type in comparsion to Grudz, who looks like he may not live up to last year's career season. I know they have Patterson batting second because they want him to produce instead of leading off, but with Grudz getting out everytime to lead off the game, it's basically Corey playing the leadoff guy anyway. That would be an incredibly stupid move at this point. Zambrano's going through the growing pains and that's to be expected. So to ship him off somewhere in exchange for a quick fix is ridiculous. Once he hones his control and mechanics, he's got a shot at being at Prior's level, if not better.

I just had to post to proclaim that complete ownage that are the Braves' throwback uniforms this evening. I've always liked the hat and I'm digging those jerseys.
-
I don't know..... you might want to consider hitting the panic button when Reds pitching is doing that to your hitters. I will if this hasn't changed in a month's time. That's the glorious thing about baseball, the season's so ungodly long that there's still time to turn it around for a couple of months. The Marlins, anyone? They need more patience but in addition to that, one must remember that Lee and Sosa are both notoriously slow starters, so expect to see them starting to turn it up within the next few weeks. The middle of the Cubs' batting lineup is looking a lot like the Braves' did last year (with about five spots of potentially good / great hitters).

Voice Of Lisa Says Simpsons Movie Won't Happen
Bruiser Chong replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
It's only been around for four hours. Give it some time. Even the most positive Simpsons thread usually end up having stuff about how it sucks now sprinkled throughout. -
Just out of curiosity, once everyone gets their desired name change, will there be another freeze on the name changes? I don't mind so much having to figure out who a lot of these people are, but I'd like to keep it to a minimum if possible.

Voice Of Lisa Says Simpsons Movie Won't Happen

There's seriously no point of ever starting a Simpsons thread on this board, because regardless of the topic, it almost always turns into "discussion" on how bad the show supposedly is now.
