I doubt it'll help things that much, but I've always been a Spade fan and the show is in desperate need for someone who's actually funny, whether it be on his own or playing off people. Spade has his critics, but he was one of the best elements of Just Shoot Me and if used correctly, he could prove to be a boost for the show.

School Suspends Female Students for Kiss
Bruiser Chong replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
I'm not defending her actions, as it seemed like a cry for attention but I highly doubt they would've been suspended had it been a hetero display of affection. I saw that stuff constantly at my old school and nothing was said about it, but you can be sure that gay people doing that would've caused some sort of uproar. -
You guys should have just used a hair dryer on the security stickers. When I noticed that the top one wasn't gonna budge, I quickly went and got mine and just put it on the sticker for a minute or two and then they came off with no problems.

OMG~! Possible return of Family Guy!
Bruiser Chong replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
If it's put on Fox, it'll get lost in the shuffle, I think, where as a network like Comedy Central would make it one of its flagship shows and you couldn't help but notice it. -

The show was funny, but I think it's horribly overpraised. Most of its supporters acted like it was going to be or was the next Simpsons. Well folks, it's not and never will be, and not just because Fox messed with its timeslots, either. Anyone who's going to blame that one reason as being the force behind the show not fulfilling that ridiculous expectation is out of their mind. Fox can actually afford to pay MacFarlane what he wants and what's supposedly needed for the show to run as it once did. Cartoon Network couldn't even come close to matching Mac's asking price, so he kindly declined. In the even that it does get brought back to Fox, I think a lot of you are cutting the network a lot of credit. Who's to say they won't just sabotage the show once more? Because it's had great DVD sales and high ratings on Cartoon Network? This is the same network that thrives on inane "reality" shows and specials we're talking about here. -
At first, I thought the comparison was due to Miller Park being a piece of shoddy crap that was already falling apart. This is worse, I guess...for Brewers fans, that is.

There's similarities, but that's mainly because HHH has been copying Flair's look for the past year. The elegant suits, shades, and all that were all Flair a good decade and a half before he was perping off it.

One thing I've noticed with some of the promos from the WWF sections was that there seems to be a brief "flash" that would indicate a clipjob, yet there doesn't seem to be anything actually clipped out. I'm not the only one seeing this, am I?

I wouldn't say that. The original topic dealt with racism and unsurprisingly, the racism talk almost instantly became deeper and more rooted than what was inititally being discussed. The rap talk pretty much goes hand-in-hand with the racism discussion that spawned from original subject.

Hey, what a terrible comparison! Big difference, guy, as music stores order rap albums and stock all the newest albums of the genre each week. MTV and other music channels and stations are willing playing rap music. So unless things are much different where you live, sidewalks don't order big piles of dog shit, and thus, I fail to see how that "comparison" is even valid.

But some guy dressed in baggy jeans and a throwback jersey, with a hat to the side isn't necessarily going to a job interview, no is he? It's common sense that in situations like job interviews or formal events, there's a pre-set idea of what one should wear and most stick to that. Outside of those events, why should someone avoid certain types of clothing all together just because some people are so close-minded that they're going to instantly label them a thug for dressing like that?

I believe both the post-match interview and Funeral Parlor segment is included. It's an awful match, but let it play through next time, as Heenan and Gorilla really shine (more so than usual) on that match. They always turned it up a notch when the match was awful.
-
No, no, no. The ENTIRE RR match is shown. Even the Fink explaining the rules and Tunney doing his little speech is there.
-
I immediately went to disc three because one of my favorite matches of all time is on there. The RR match is still gold and the stuff that's from his first WWF run on the DVD is fun, too. Already worth the money spent, and I haven't even watched the first two discs.

I was just at BB and while they had one of the DVD sets I was after today (King of Queens), the store was absent of any Ric Flair greatness. It's raining here badly, too, so driving around, getting out and all that stuff was a pain in the ass, but I finally went over to Media Play just out of routine for when BB doesn't have something and surprisingly enough, they had several copies. $32, but I don't care. I'd rather have it right now and pay a little more than wait and pay a few dollars less. I'm not crazy about the packaging, though. I was sorta hoping for a big armary case like all of the other WWE DVDs have.

Man, I must be the only one listening to some of this rap that incorporates more musical instruments into their albums than most "real" musical acts could ever hope to.
-
Because rap is supposedly just some "G" throwing down rhymes over a beat in between slangin' dem drugs, not paying his taxes, and smacking his hos, so it can't possibly be music. Now, take a rock 'n' roll musician who bangs out a few riffs on his guitar, tosses in some lyrics about how life is so painful in between shootin' up his heroin and drinkin' his bottles and bottles of Jack Daniels, and you've got powerful music...yeah, stereotypes are stupid, aren't they?
-
In a word? Yes. Care to explain in more than one word, or are you just talking out of your ass? Why can I find rap albums in every music store I go to then? Why do they play rap videos on music channels and radio stations? Or am I just imagining all of those things? Just because rap doesn't fit your definition of what music is, doesn't mean it isn't. Some would say that heavy metal is nothing but a lot of noise, but surely people would object to that before I could even click "refresh." It's no secret that the majority of the posters here don't see rap as a form of music, so I expect comments like this. Ironic how so many individuals compalin that people don't understand the music they like, yet these same people write off rap as nothing. I guess you guys should call all those music stores and tell them that they're not supposed to be stocking rap albums since it's not music and all, so they can send them rightfully over to 7-11 so they can be put in their true home: between the Big Gulp machine and frozen food section.
-
I can send you screencaps of it while I'm watching my copy of it. Watch karma kick me in the nads and BB be sold out of it.

I'm sure they'll be back now that he's resolidified himself as a heel. Remember, those Matt Facts were always cocky and part of his heel schtick.

A FEUD with RVD would certainly be interesting, if nothing else.

Ah, if we're discussing race issues, can't forget to slam rap, now can we? Why is it that just because the genre doesn't fit in the close-minded criteria of what "real" music is, it's not music? Can just anyone create the beats you hear on any given rap track, or can just anyone create a fluent and creative set of rhymes? Yes, a lot of the rap that gets mainstream attention is trite, but that doesn't mean that the entire genre is like that, yet that's the mindset its detractors seem to have. Heavy metal and all of its offspring and subgenres are a lot of loud guitar playing and screaming, is that more musical than rap? That's what most would have you believe, simply because those guys are actually playing instruments (not well, mind you, but that doesn't seem to be a factor). You've got a right to your musical tastes and that's fine. But really, just because you don't like it or don't care to note any of its positives, doesn't mean you should write-off the entire genre, and imply that it's got a part in the corruption and desicration of black society. If we're going to go that route, then we'll just say that kids shoot other kids because Trent Reznor told them to and others worship the Devil because Rob Zombie made it seem cool.

Anyone think Kane will be involved the surprise ending to the handicap match?
-
I'm gonna head over to Best Buy tomorrow morning when it opens. Actually, is BB usually open after midnight on release days, or is that just for special releases, like LOTR? If it's open, I may stop by later on tonight.

See, I don't get that. He's had two **** matches since returning (on a show where one **** per year from a non-cripple is rare) and he came back for the sole reason that he LOVES the business. I've enjoyed almost all his work since coming back. Perhaps it's because I've just felt that him coming back last year simply wasn't necessary. I know he loves the business and seeing him show ass for the first time in a long time last night was great and reminded me of why he used to be my favorite wrestler from 1992 until he turned face. I find his match with HHH from Summerslam '02 to be insanely overrated, because while it was a great brawl, I think some cut it a lot of slack just because everyone was expecting a carwreck going in. His WM match with Jericho was arguably the best on the card, but the finish tainted it for me quite a bit, since the stage was set for Shawn to put Jericho over cleanly then and there, not several months later with controversy, to boot. Last night was the first night I actually got behind Shawn since his glory days and it hit me later on that him eliminating Jericho didn't bother me in the least. The only negative was that he put over Orton, but then again, I guess that's how it should have been (not Orton going over per say, but rather, Shawn fighting the odds until the last moment and then falling short). I'm not a fan of either Shawn or Austin's, but I was hooked on the match and found myself enticed in a match for the first time in forever. That's something I've missed and it was also a wakeup call that I haven't been looking at the product with a blind hatred, because a truly engaging match and angle will turn me back into the nine-year-old mark I was once upon a time, regardless of who the participants are. Watching Shawn battle it out against the odds last night, it was the first time since his return that he didn't look like a shell of his former self. Until then, his match with Jericho was the closest he had gotten to breaking that spell, but his performance yesterday finally did that.
