What is the funniest TV show ever?

Dr. Katz got the shaft. It was a great show and really a sleeper, since no one really expected much out of it and on the surface, it just looked like a shitty-looking animated show, but it was actually hilarious, thanks in part to all of the patients being comedians doing their material.

    Dowloading/Burning CDs

I knew that thread was behind the link. If it wasn't, I was going to link the thread, myself. Anyway, to burn CDs, you're obviously gonna need a CD burner and a CD burning program. Ones like Nero are good. From there, it's really not there much to it.

    Anime Question

I'm not really into anime at all, but my cousin has lived in Japan for about three years now and has had an interest in the country and everything associated with it for nearly a decade now. Because of this, he's acquired a massive collection of anime videos, as well as Japanese related products like figurines, comics, posters, etc. Anyway, while living over in Japan, he had been keeping the majority of his items at his mother's house, who still lives here. She recently moved to an apartment, which meant that those things either had to go back with him or tossed. The quanity of things he took back with him was incredibly small, since the International postal rates are killer and it wouldn't be worth it to send most of the stuff over. With that said, he handed most of these things over to me. While I sold a lot of the non-Japanese related items on eBay or just kept them for myself, I haven't even touched any of the Japanese things until now. Since my interest in anime is pretty small, I really don't wish to keep the huge amount of videos that were left behind. Roughly five or six large boxes of anime tapes are now in my home and while there are about 30 master videos with boxart, the rest are all "bootlegs" or at least, anime on blank tapes. I believe they're all in Japanese with the English subtitles, but my question is, are there any messageboards dedicated to the category where I could post the titles of all these videos and sell them? I'm aware of several wrestling tape boards, but what about boards dedicated to things like anime? I'm not really looking to make any money off them, and just wanna move them along since I'm in the eventual process of clearing out the house so I can move. I'd try and sell them on eBay, but there are so many whistleblowers out there that getting caught selling "bootleg" merchandise would surely get me kicked off of the site, at the very least. I plan on selling the masters there, but that's it. Anyway, sorry for the long backstory, but any suggestions, links, etc. that could assist with this, would be appreciated.

    Anime Question

Good lord, I think that's the very definition of "biting the bullet." If it's gotta come to that, then so be it. But where would these geek utopias be found, anyway?

    I Give Up

That's a reason why I refuse to ever work in the fast food industry. Not only are you surrounded by idiot co-workers, but the majority of the customers are ready to treat you like shit from point-go, just because they figure you're an idiot because you're working there. I can't stand people like that, which is why it just wouldn't be worth it to me. I'll be somewhat of a smartass if the person waiting on me is really dumb, but I don't go in looking for confrontation. To hell with fast food jobs, I'd rather work almost anywhere else.

All gay high school set to open in NYC

I don't venture into this folder often, but I've just gotta say that for once, I agree with Marney. When this story was still somewhat new, I had to write a paper on it for a class and I felt that while it was a good idea in theory to provide gay people with an environment where they could recieve a good education without being harrassed or tortured because of who they are, it only seperated them apart from everyone else when the "goal" is to just be equal. Setting them in a school just for gays only draws more attention to their sexual orientation and ultimately, adds fuel to the fire, so to speak, in the extreme controversy that homosexuality sadly brings.

    Autograph signings...and the insane prices

That reminds me of when the Lions made their home here while doing their training camp for a couple seasons. I believe the first year was 1997 and my brother and mom had been going there everyday to get autographs at the autograph booths. Anyway, the day Sanders was there, I decided to tag along and of course the line was immense. He finally showed up after like an hour of waiting, and then there was another hour of waiting to get to the front of the line. I should note that my brother had been ahead of me in line, because by time we got up to the front, I had some how gotten ahead of him and low and behold, as soon as they let me up to the table to get his autograph, the guy running the whole thing said, "All right, that's the last one." So to sum it up, I got Sanders' autograph after only going to the training camp that day, while my brother, who had been going everyday and getting signatures from nobodys, got the shaft, by being the first in line when they finally cut the signing off, and Barry left. Needless to say, I got bitched out by both my mom and brother for what seemed like an enternity and finally just gave my brother the damn poster that I had gotten signed. It didn't mean that much to me, and besides, Barry was an ass. He didn't even say one word to anyone who was getting his autograph. Total prick.

    WWE DVD release schedule

Just about anything worthwhile he did in ECW is covered in the ECW comp of his stuff. I agree that more WCW material should be used, as I think his best WWF matches were already on the first Foley disc.

Haha, I was thinking the same exact thing and even gonna post it as "Prior wuz robbed," and then like two seconds later I saw your post. Cubs fans think alike.

    Goonies Pt 2

My exact response when I read the thread title. There is absoultely no reason to even mess with the Goonies name. It's become a cult classic over the years and doing anything further with it would be a travesty. And do I even have to mention that the guy who played Sloth isn't even alive now? Stupid idea if this goes through.

    Smackdown SPOILERS

I know there are a lot of Holly haters on the board (can't really blame 'em), but if they're gonna go through with this feud, I think something along the lines of a Last Man Standing match would be a cool way to end the feud, with Brock going over in a brutal and perhaps bloody match. I don't see it happening (especially since it may seem like overkill thanks to SHANE doing the match a couple months back), but that crossed my mind when thinking about this feud.

White Judge Draws Fire for Costume

Heh, I know that the hick population is ever-growing, but regardless of how many new Uncle Daddies come down the pike in the decades to come, the stereotype will never eclipse this one, since hicks were never oppressed and forced to go through so many injustices (although maybe that's a good idea). Hopefully that doesn't open another can of worms, since it does sound a bit, well, prejudice.

    The Official MLB Offseason Topic

Nah, it doesn't matter until postseason. I don't really care, but if you were actually going to asses the situation, then you'd have to consider what I mentioned.

    The Official MLB Offseason Topic

No way. The Cubs certainly don't need ANOTHER first baseman. Here's hoping to them letting Choi be the number one guy at the position. Sexson would be a great addition, but then that pretty much marks the end of Choi in Chicago and who knows if he'll break out any moment? Definitely ditch Estes, but I wouldn't move Clement up over Zambrano. I like Clement, but he's got more experience than Zambrano, which is why he was better down the stretch. When Zambrano has played for more than one complete season and works the kinks out of his game by going through those growing pains, he'll be a force to be reckoned with. He could even end up being as good as Prior, if not better. I'm a little mixed on Urbina. I mean, the Cubs could use a real closer, but he was pretty lousy when they needed him the most, and the Cubs need to focus on long relief before the closer role.

If you got tattoos WWE doesent want you!

Although I don't disagree with it, what exactly is the reasoning behind the tattoos being frowned upon? I'd assume that there's some sort of reason, but this blurb doesn't clarify what it is.

Ebay - Just signed up and I have

File the complaint, anyway. Either way, it's better to get the ball rolling on this. Every seller on eBay should know that if the buyer is in the same country, they should send their items out within a couple of weeks. Any longer and they're asking for trouble.

What is the funniest TV show ever?

Yeah, the later seasons most likely overshadow anything positive about the series (Roseanne) and thus, few people remember that there was a time when it looked to be on the track to become one of the best sitcoms ever.

White Judge Draws Fire for Costume

Regardless of facts and stats, if that's his mindset, then who's to say that right there doesn't make him a racist? I'm sure you're right that most of the state is minorities, but nevertheless, him sentencing mostly black people would indicate that he has something against them on a personal level. Touching upon the stereotype thing one more time, I'd like to add that most of "our" (white people) stereotypes really aren't that offensive. Yeah you've got the hick, but that only applies to a small number of people. What other stereotypes are there? Oh yeah, we wear khakis with tucked polo shirts with a little animal on the breast pocket. Take that white America!

Ebay - Just signed up and I have

Slapnuts, go here and scroll down to the buying section and click on the link about Fraud Protection. Pick the option that you paid but didn't receive your item and then click on the link where you file a fraud complaint. You'll need the item numbers for each item, by the way. And Boo, no offense, but bidders who bid on things and then retract obviously because they changed their mind, really piss me off. I sell on eBay quite a bit, and I've had instances where bidders retract their bids and the reasons given are bullshit. I've had buyers claim they couldn't contact me (load of crap since it's all through eBay) or that they entered the wrong bid amount, yet they didn't bid again. If you retract, you'll have to give a reason and most of them are pretty damning. If you say you entered the wrong amount, you'll be expected to bid again with the correct amount. If the seller suspects you're retracting for a reason other than a "legal" one, they can report you. I did this to a guy who retracted on three of my auctions and had a history of retracting bids five or more times a week. As a longtime buyer, there've been auctions that I bid on and then realized I didn't really want them, but I never retracted any of them because unlike some people, I understand that when you bid, you're cyber-signing a legally-binding contract and I never wanted to abuse the system. Next time, I simply suggest you decide if you really want it before you bid, or keep a watch on the item without bidding in case you find the same thing at a cheaper price elsewhere. It'll save you trouble and sellers a headache.

    The Simpsons

I'll admit that the animation in past years (like seasons 5-9 or so) were just the way I liked it, but they still give great amounts of attention to details like facial expressions and the like. Paying close attention to Homer or Bart, you'll often see them with a sly look on their face that goes unnoticed if you're not paying attention close enough. I agree that the show should've gone out while it was on top, but you act like everyone despises the show, when in fact, it's primarily all these whiney-ass people on the 'net, who just like to slam any and everything, even things they claim to like.

What is the funniest TV show ever?

My bad, mang, your sig/avatar combos and style are similar, so that was a mental lapse on my part. I'd say Seinfeld is an acquired taste, and some people either just don't get it, or can't get into it. I can understand not liking it, but the people who refuse to acknowledge anything on the show being funny bother me, because it's just a sign that they're not even giving it a chance to be funny. And Seinfeld is so quotable, so I guess you can't really be surprised that so many people were reciting lines from the show. Hell, I still do it in some situations where they apply.

    The Simpsons

That's one perspective on it, but I really think some people take the "it's changed for the worse" attitude so far. It's still one of the funniest shows on there, and although a lot of the characters have gone through changes (some less popular than others), I still stand by the statement that any show that fails to have their characters grow in some way, are pretty much doomed for failure. Obviously there are exceptions, but that's generally the case. Hell, Urkel was funny once upon a time, but the writers insisted on never changing him (I don't count him being turned into Stephan and Bruce Lee and all that garbage as "changing") and the character became extremely stale, as did the show, since the characters and stories failed to change, as well.

White Judge Draws Fire for Costume

Yeah, while each race has its own stereotypes, I'd say those pertaining to the black race are the most defined, if you will. Just like there's a definite racial slur for the black race, there's a definite stereotype, where as there's not so much of a definite racial slur for whites (crackers and honkeys, huh?), as well as no definite white stereotype.

What is the funniest TV show ever?

AoO, I don't recall who said that line about "taking a dump," but I do remember seeing an episode of Beavis and Butthead, where during one of the music videos, Beavis said the exact same line you used. I believe he was quoting someone, but he said the same thing, nevertheless, hence my comment. I don't think Seinfeld had a "look at me" attitude. The buzz that was generated after a couple of seasons by the masses did that for them quite nicely. And there's nothing wrong with using the same old format, if there's something interesting to offer along with it. It's just that it's a rarity to find a show that uses the same format and isn't a cookie-cutter show with the same trite lines found elsewhere. I think most people crap on shows that are different because a lot of them just don't know how to respond to it, and thus, they go resort to mudslinging, something that's comfortable to them.

What is the funniest TV show ever?

I'm not saying you're an idiot, but I don't understand how anyone could appreacite Friends. I've given it many chances (and believe me, with it being on 72 times a day, I've had enough chances) and just don't find it to be funny, at all. I think I've laughed a handful of times during the many, many episodes I've made myself watch. And Seinfeld did get a little more out there the last couple of seasons, but I thought a lot of the episodes were great. Even though they no longer dealt with "nothing," there's still tons of classic material to be found in those episodes.
