    Reds release Ryan Dempster

It usually takes about a full season just to get all the kinks worked out because of the surgery, but most guys seem to come back stronger than ever. Not saying that means he's going to turn it around, but that's something to consider.

    Padres have new uniforms

And for a damn good reason, too.

    Padres have new uniforms

The brown jerseys they were sporting in the 70's and 80's are the shit. I've got one of those, matter of fact. Of course, worn in a "serious" context, if you will, those look way too dated now.

    Padres have new uniforms

I like the alternate jerseys. I think they for the most part, look better than the, well, other alternatives. Don't tell me you don't think those Cubs alternative jerseys don't kick ass. And I don't think the Padres will be half bad next year. They'll be putting out a pretty impressive lineup and this offseason may prove to be profitable in their pickups.

    Crash Holly passes away

Banky, drinking is your own choice, but if you're going to let it get so out of control on any given occassion that you're too shit faced to even control bodily functions, then that's your own fault. Crash entertained me a great deal with his 24/7 gimmick and his early days with Hardcore, and was sad to see him part ways with WWE, but you've gotta keep your shit in check, otherwise, crap like this can happen. Obviously millions of others do exactly what he did, and to say they deserve to die is stupid, but you've gotta accept responsibilty for your own choices.

    Crash Holly passes away

Forgive me if this sounds harsh, but just getting the news, I didn't even flinch. Deaths in wrestling are becoming so common and then to find out he choked on his own vomit, well, that's a fairly strong indicator that it was because of something of his own doing. It's a shame that it happened, but I doubt it was something that couldn't have been avoided. RIP Crash, and congrats, you've become another statistic and blemish on pro wrestling's image.

    Smarks EZBoard alumni roll call

I wish you two would stop. This isn't gonna go anywhere, so why bother? You both clearly don't get along, no reason to spend half the night at your keyboards drilling the point home even further. Act yer age, for god's sake. As for Dave posting at SNKT, that was an issue discussed by the admins over there and we were all in favor of Dave posting over there (yes, that's including CJ who had no oppositions). I won't say that no history will ever show up at SNKT, because no one knows that for sure, but at the moment, SNKT is a board that stands on its own, so to speak. If you've got history with someone else posting there, leave it at the cyber door, because it's not wanted, and ya know what? Thus far, that's exactly what's happened. There are a few parties over there that haven't gotten along in the past and they've all been mature about things and posted and gone about their business without starting a load of garbage. I don't wanna give off a "SNKT's better than all boards" vibe here, but it is quite different than other boards. Over here, Banky can be considered a troll of sorts, a guy who stirs up shit to pass the time. Banky happens to post at SNKT and I must say, I have to wonder if it's the same guy, because honestly, you'd never know he had an tendencies to start trouble just for the hell of it. So to sum this part up, you two should chill out, and please, don't bring up "SNKT affairs" over here because we don't need to open a can of worms that's going to find its way back over there. NOW, as for the original point of this here thread, I joined up during April of 2001, about two weeks after WM X7. I was simply taken by the place and was in pure bliss up until near the end of the summer, when trolls and stupid shit got out of hand and the board just eventually went into a tailspin. I posted there as Daredevil21 (becoming the second "Main Eventer" aka guy with 600 posts, second only to Choken, of course). I was quite the avid poster over there, getting around 1500 posts before the board closed up shop and moved on over here. I registered with the same handle, but eventually grew disenchanted with everything and sorta just went over to WDI to the majority of my posting. I registered this name in July of 2002, at the suggestion of someone, who thought it'd be a good "alter ego" to DD21. As some of you'll recall, I had quite a few people calling for my banning during my "first" posting day, and eventually, stopped posting for a while, before starting up again in Decemeber of 2002. Of course, it seemed by that point, no one questioned why that "asshole" Bruiser Chong was posting "normally." Of course, there are some (actually a lot) who will still say I don't do that, but that's neither here nor there. Good lord, did I just use an emoticon?

Explain the concept of the Beverly Brothers

MM explained it nicely. The cracks in the foundation of the WWF's tag team division was really showing around this time. On the face side, you had LOD (who were the champs at the time), the Rockers, the Bushwhackers, and that's pretty much it. Don't forget the Rockers were already on the skids and were soon to be broken up and any credibility that the Whackers had as anything other than a sideshow act to amuse the kiddies in the audience was long gone. On the other end, you had the Nasty Boys, Beverly Brothers, and the Natural Disasters. Slim pickings, indeed. And let's not forget the additions of teams like the New Foundation and the Money Inc. to "enhance" the division.

I'll take GAB '89 and Royal Rumble '94 if they're in their original, uncut boxes.

    Philles Get Wagner

Quite obviously I'm exciting about this trade, as well, since it no longer means that a Astro's lead after 8 innings means the game is over.

    Crucifixio Jones question

Banky, you're gonna have to accept some people around here simply have diplomatic immunity when it comes to things like being banned. There's a circle of people who will never be banned, regardless of what they say, and that's not to slam this board, as most boards have a core group of people who are likely to never be banned. CJ will tell you himself that he didn't really bring much to this board in recent months simply because there almost seemed to be no point, as no one wanted to discuss certain things (and NO, I'm not talking about porn). As he put it, his banning was for the best, and everyone should prolly move on. I don't usually fight other people's battles (although I don't really view this as doing that), but it can get old seeing someone who wasn't a straight-up troll get banned and then everyone comes out of the woodwork to talk shit about them, knowing full well they can't respond. Dames, one thing I'll say about threads like this or ones you've closed, is that you should just get rid of them. Close them if you'd like, but why keep them around? This board has its bright spots, but there's far too much shit that's kept around here taking up precious bandwidth space, and what's the end result? More money out of your pocket. And really, it doesn't seem that many people realize that or at least appreciate that little tidbit.

    WWE Bloodbath DVD

I'm talking about the tag team cage match between Savage/Adonis and Sammartino/Santana. Probably one of the best WWF tag team cage matches I've seen. Sammartino also had a fun cage match with Piper at the Boston Garden back in 1986, as well, that would've been nice to see there.

    WWE Bloodbath DVD

Yes that was Rave/Scotty Levy/Johnny Polo. He was doing the commentating with Gorilla for CV during this time and while he was no Heenan, he certainly wasn't the worst. I take it you've never seen any matches called by Sean Mooney and Alfred Hayes? The match itself is quite bad, although what can you expect since it was a small crowd and a dark match. I would've loved to see Steiners/Money Inc., as well. If they were gonna go with some older WWF footage, they should've added in the steel cage stuff with Sammartino, Savage, Santana, and Adonis. Those were great matches.

    Who's on the injured list?

Y'all some injury-prone suckas. Not that I'm much better with my groin strain that I recently obtained. Guess that's what I get for trying to stretch too often after not doing it at all for years.

    Write your own McDonald's commercials

Not saying I could do a whole lot better, Professor, but there are quite a few parts to that rap that just have no sort of flow and seem to only included because the words rhyme. Buncha crackas~!

    Explain THIS TO ME

Little late here, but I wouldn't suggest learning Russian if she's Ukraine. You may wanna try learning, oh I don't know, Ukraine? If you're still hurting for something to talk about, you could find out some things about her native country and strike up a conversation based on that and it could eventually evolve into something else. She may be impressed that you know something about her country and don't just write her off as being, "Russian." But lemme warn ya, you're treading into dangerous grounds, since she is Ukraine. This coming from someone who's half Ukraine himself, we're a crazy bunch. Now, since I was born here and raised under the regular American structure, I like to think I've turned out fairly normal, but those who are actually from the Ukraine simply have a different mindset on things, as you'd expect from someone from another country. It can be a case-by-case thing, but a lot of the Ukraines I know (family, basically) who were born there, can be a little well, crazy. Like I said, the mindset is just something that can really surprise you in many ways, as well as what can come off as a their twisted interpretation of reality. Those who were born and raised there are often still stuck there from a mental state, as they naturally still go by the values and traditions they learned over there. My father's parents are a perfect example. But back to your deal, since she's lived here for a while, she may be "normal," but from the sounds of it, she seems pretty void in the personality department. Just because she's hot doesn't mean she's worth the chase, especially when there's a good chance that the sex you may get could end up being very "traditional" and thus, unexciting. Just my two cents, though.

    Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Yeah, that one's a little more acceptable to say in public.

    The HULK!

I haven't seen it yet (did buy it, though), but it seemed that most of the people who weren't pleased with it were disapointed it didn't have more action and had more material that caused you to think.

    World Series of Poker

There was a time when I thought that bowling was the poorest excuse for a sport being shown on ESPN. I can now state that in the past tense.

    Whatever happened to John Henson?

Please tell me you're joking. Hal wasn't that bad, but the show definitely went on the skids once John left.

Yet another horror remake - Prom Night

Exactly. I'm no fan of the "horror" genre (at least not the stuff passed as horror in the last couple of decades), but a lot of the movies being remade are pretty crappy, so them being remade isn't the biggest travesty, although it is pretty stupid, since more times than not, they're likely to be as bad or worse than the original.

Indeed I am. Or as we like to call it sometimes, "Sagnasty."

Any big league sports stars from your hometown?

NBA star and spousal abuser Jason Richardson went to my high school. So did former MLB pitcher Curt Young. Charles Rogers went to the rival high school here. Those are the only three I can think of off the top of my head. A couple more will probably make it big in football once their college days are over, too.
