I say let Prior get out of this inning and then go to the pen. No need to overwork him and you should get the pen some innings. Remlinger in the 7th, Farns in the 8th and maybe 9th since it prolly won't be a save situation.
-
That has to be the most apathetic reaction ever to a homerun.
-
That's pretty funny. Agreed. It's great that they've got people coming out to the park, but flashback to two months ago and you've got tumbleweeds going through the majority of the good seats.
-
Even with the unusual offense for the Cubs, funny to see them still not taking advantage of a bases loaded situation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not begging for more runs, but 11-0 or not, it's not a good thing to leave runners in scoring position.
-
And my god, after a pathetic second-half, Alex Gonzalez's bat has just come to life in the last week.
-
Al seems like a good guy and would prolly be a good announcer if he could just get a better flow to how he talks. How often has he commentated, because if he could get that together, he'd be pretty good.

Truth be told, regardless of stats, I think the Marlins have the more lethal offense compared to the Braves. Just watching the Marlins over the past couple of months, they seem to come through with the big hits almost any time it's needed, aside from tonight. They've had runners on every inning but don't have a run to show for it. But alas, Prior seems to be able to work his way out of jams most of the time.
-
Even at 8-0, I'm still not resting easy. It's great to watch, but after watching the Marlins hit all postseason, I don't trust any lead. This is certainly refreshing to watch though, as the Cubs rarely break out the lumber and if they do, the other team's usually doing the same.
-
WOW. He KILLED that ball. Nice to see more and more of the Cubs' homers going to centerfield or the opposite field. Prior's been a little shaky so far, but if he settles in, the Marlins could be in trouble.
-
Thank you.

If this weren't the Cubs, I think the bags full would be a good thing. Prove me wrong, Randall.

That bothers me too, Kingpk. It took me a couple games into the first round for me to realize that they never started close to 8:00. I don't expect them to start at 8 on the button, but some opening words and it should be game time. Otherwise, advertise the first 15 minutes being a pre-game show and SAY you're gonna start the game at 8:15.

Jake Roberts got his own video...just saying. I'm there for the set, as well, but I'm surprised some of you are acting like this is current news. These were in the making a year ago and the official sets were announced months ago.

Not to rain on any parades, but IIRC, the last time Willis started against the Cubs, they promptly drove him out of the game, which was pretty impressive, since it was during his little stretch where no one could hit him. For some reason, I don't see either team ever getting a clear-cut advantage, much like in the Braves/Cubs series.
-
Dude, you're like two days late there. The Braves got eliminated on Sunday.
-
Prior.
-
Welp, the Cubs pen is well, yeah. That's about all you need to know. Guthrie and Veres have been garbage in the postseason.
-
Funny how people slam the FOX announcers for getting so worked up over the Manny thing but they find the Cubs fans doing the Braves Chop a horrific thing. Yeah, they're not playing the Braves, but seriously, why's it such a bad thing? What do you want Cubs fans to do to get the team hyped? ROAR?
-
That has to be one of the greatest moments of this postseason. I was thinking it was all over and then bam. What a great time for the first postseason homer.
-
That's pretty much what I said. Nothing against the Marlins, but it seems that the chances are good when you've got Prior on the mound. Clement's gonna have the ball in game 3 though, not Wood. Or did I miss something?
-
Welp, that should pretty much do it. Deja Vu on that at-bat. How big is it that Goodwin didn't get the job done now or their chance to score in the 7th?
-
Goodwin's come through so many times in those situations. Isn't going to happen everytime. Without Gonzalez's glove, the Marlins are down by two by my count.
-
Both teams are blowing big chances here and you know it's going to come back to haunt someone. Grudzielunak who's a great contact hitter pretty much fucked things up by popping out. That was a great play to get Sosa out, but truth be told, it shouldn't have been on his shoulders to get the run in.
-
Looks like Beckett's getting into a groove which isn't good. Zambrano (if he's still in) is gonna have to settle down and put that uncharacteristic inning behind him.
-
What do you expect with the wind blowing out at Wrigley? This game's far from over but that was probably the worse I've ever seen Zambrano pitch. Ugly inning.
