Kane wears glasses? Whoa.
-
The way things have been going, it would seem that Zambrano isn't far off from passing Wood by, as well.
-
Contacts are a pain at times, but they're way better than glasses. Most people look better with contacts and you don't need to go through the constant troubles of cleaning your glasses or having them get in the way of what you're doing. Glasses are only good when you're lying around the house and don't plan on going out or anything. I too plan to get the surgery in two years, but I'm fine with contacts until then.

I didn't expect to her to be a "mega-hottie" since no females on a message board have been (the ones I've been around, anyway). It may sound harsh, but it's true, not trying to slam them. As for people being too hard on her looks, oh well, she posted the picture and she just like everyone who's posted theirs, has to expect that they're going to be evaluated and not everyone is going to trip over themselves and proclaim her to be "hawt" or whatever. Opinions vary and that's certainly true when judging anyone's appearance.

I just think it's funny that if the slightest thing goes wrong, people are shitting all over each other and Big Stein goes into Mr. McMahon mode by threatening to fire people if they don't please him.

Footloose would be a good pick. I haven't seen the movie in forever, but I was on the stage crew for the local playhouse's production of it this past spring (I was conned into it) and although I thought it'd be dull, the music's very catchy and it's actually pretty funny at times.

The one positive about big lists like that are there's usually something for everyone. Just so happens nothing quite grabs me this week. There are a couple of titles I wouldn't shun from my collection, but nothing I'm going to shell a total of 30 bucks out for, especially since I'm already looking at an expensive week, as it is.
-
I think utter crap would fit this week's special better, especially when you think about what sort of specials they've had before. Don't bother with Fight Club since it's the single disc version and they're re-releasing the 2-disc one in a few weeks. J&SBSB rubs me the wrong way the more I watch it and besides, if you still don't have the DVD, something's wrong, because it seems like everyone has it. Barbershop might be a good pickup, even though I already had it and just gave it to one of my friends for Valentine's Day since she loved the movie. I'm not too broken up that this special sucks, since there's plenty of stuff that's dropping this week that's already got my funds tied up.

Ugh, that's correct. *has terrible flashbacks to the school song and drunk driving episodes*

Before this thread gets back to "normal," CJ's comment about his clothes reminded me of something I forgot to mention. While the jersey thing is extremely popular right now, I've yet to meet a single person who wears nothing but that. If anything, they'll have a jersey peppered in here and there throughout their wardrobe rotation. As for the caps, hey, millions of people have worn 'em through the years, regardless of what was "in" at the moment, so I don't even think that's really an issue.
-
Just the good lord trying to make up for everything below it. As for the whole jersey fad, like anything else that's popular, it has its ups and downs, periods where it's not as popular and periods where it's the most popular thing out there. In the early to mid 90's, NBA jerseys were the rage among the younger (anywhere from 10-25-year-olds) demographics and now it's all about the throwback. Yes, the jersey/cap thing is a very popular fashion statement at the moment, but it's not like it hasn't been before.

No, that's Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which is considered a different series. The ones that came out were seasons 1 and 2 of what's considered Saved by the Bell. It was the first appearance of Kelly, Jessie, and Slater.
-
That's just an idiotic comment, my friend. Even I wore sports jerseys and Starter jackets "back in the day," which translates to the early 1990's. I had a ton of NBA jerseys and every winter I had a new Starter coat, and believe me, I'm quite far from a "thug" or "masterflexpimp" or whatever stupid label you give the people who dress like that.

I bought the set and I've realized something--Despite the show having an undefinable charm, if you to were to see any of these episodes for the first time, having never seen a single episode of the series, you'd hate it, they're just that corny and "out there." I've seen each episode more times than I care to admit, so I'm fine, but even a lot of the lines are still to corny for me. When WWE has more logic and continuity than you, you know something's not right. As for the set, it's a nice pickup for any fan of the show, although the abscence of even a single extra is annoying, especially since I heard of a documentary and deleted scenes being included. The quality of the picture is pretty lousy at times, even though it was never great to begin with. There's some compression issues at times, which causes posters and signs in the background to look just awful. I think my main gripe is that when you remove the security sticker, it takes some of the cover with it. I had heard about it, so I used a hairdryer when taking it off, but still have two spots where the color is gone now. I'll gladly take the next two seasons (although season 4 is awful) and the College Years. I don't have a problem with Good Morning, Miss Bliss, but the New Class is just awful. I wouldn't ever buy any of those.

Because Smoltz has blown save opportunities, as well as blown games in non-save opportunities and is now on the DL at a critical time of the year. Gagne has only looked human once and that was in the All-Star Game. Smoltz has shown signs of mortality plenty of times.

He's not bad as a pinch hitter or relief pitcher, but he only found himself in that position because he failed at being an everyday hitter twice.
-
Indeed he did hurt his game and IIRC, he was never quite the same again after that.
-
They're impressive when you compare them to the typical starter these days, but considering many had him pegged as the next Nolan Ryan five years ago, they're disapointing. He's got good stuff, but he's just way too inconsistent and it seems like guys in his own rotation are starting pass him by.
-
Interesting concept, although I'd let Wood have a couple more seasons in the starting rotation before I'd move him. He's not what we saw back in 1998, but he still puts out a strong effort most of the time. I hadn't heard that idea before, but it would make great sense for perhaps the 2005 or 2006 season. If the Cubs could in fact add another ace or if Cruz could work out the kinks in his throwing game, then moving Wood into the closing position would be a nice idea since the Cubs haven't really had a reliable closer since Randy Myers and that was damn near a decade ago.
-
Well then it's obvious that they need to dump him. I wasn't aware he had been playing for so long, but I do know that Dusty's tendancy to stick to something too long, even if it's not working, is why Estes is still around. Estes looks especially bad when you put him next to the rest of the Cubs' regular starting rotation of Wood, Zambrano, Prior, and Clement.
-
Play-by-play = boring as hell. If you're going to make it so long, don't let it be because you're doing exact PBP. I felt like I was reading a SK rant, except without the jokes peppered in here and there. Cut down on the PBP and try and create a more unique style and you should be fine.

Well, he's still a young guy, so he's working out all the bugs for now. If he's still pitching like this next year or the year after, then forget about it, but he's just going through the growing pains right now, which is understandable, but at the same time, quite annoying since the Cubs are in the race for the first time in years.
-
The Cubs' pen deserved the flack they got for the series in St. Louis. Had it not been for them, game one wouldn't have been so tight at the end, game two wouldn't have been a lose, and game three would've gone to extra innings keeping a Cubs' victory in the realm of possibility. They were however quite good in this game (especially in game two like I said). Whenever they were a little shaky, the offense would actually come to life and smooth things over. Estes is the only guy in their starting rotation that I just don't have faith in. He got by yesterday but only because the offense and bad Cards' pitching came through. I prefer Juan Cruz over him, even though Cruz has a tendency to make things a little too interesting at times.

I just wrote a walkthrough for FeeDVD4Me.com...

I did everything you said to do and all that. I cancelled all of the offers/memberships right after I signed up for them and got my confirmation via email, as well. And to boot, I only got points for three of the six offers I signed up for. You can call the company if you'd like, but I don't know if they'll tell you anything that they didn't tell me.
