Lou double-switching out Derrek Lee, leaving Henry Blanco to man first and pick Ryan Theriot's pathetic throws was just one of the many boneheaded moves the Cubbies made tonight.

They're the worst kind of bad team, too. They're the type of team that's made expensive signings the last several off-seasons. They've got some decent players, but just about all of them are making far more than their worth.

The most entertaining part of the game was the spat between Jackson and Van Gundy. Meow.

When did Mets fans turn against Jose Reyes?

It's $4.18 here. I'm considering bringing the rickshaw back.

Barry Zito's perfect season is over.

Does such a team exist that has a fanbase who regularly makes less noise during the game than when they win a game?
-
Oh man, you mean they made more noise after they won the game. Ladies and gentlemen, we've got our new best fans in baseball.

It's been in the 50s-60s the last couple of weeks. I love it. Supposed to hit the mid-80s this weekend. That weather I love not so much. I'm just not a big heat guy. I get uncomfortable if it his any higher than the high '80s. I'm not a fan of frigid winters, but this middle ground coupled with overcast skies is perfect.

I've never seen any of them either. Just about anyone I've revealed this tidbit to has responded with shocked disgust. -

I'd be down, so long as the selected time jives with my schedule. -
What's with the NL East and the fans of its teams sliding down the handrails after games?
-
No. I don't know what he's talking about. All he did was glue his hand to his dick. Nothing that unusual.

Also, I'm interested in more details about Skywarp's weekend at Woodstock. What a disaster that event was.

The only fond memory I have of that Limp Bizkit song is the half-second spot in the music video where the hot brunette with the big rack pulls her shirt up. I should revisit that, though, since I doubt it holds up well considering A) I'm not 14 anymore and B) she was wearing a bra.

I have nothing to add except to say that I enjoyed Milky's Ordell Robbie-esque way of introducing his solo Beatles pick.

But they're fighting for our freedom! Or supporting it. I'm not sure. I usually go to the bathroom or concession stand before the point can be made.

I loved the Edmonds catch last night, but the guy is DONE. He's got zero bat speed. He looks over-matched at the plate and when he makes contact, it's weak.

I won't lie and act like I don't have an unusually large amount of '90s music on my hard drive. Not necessarily the technically quality stuff, either. We're talking about one-hit wonders and stuff that'll make you go, "Oh yeah, I remember that" in a tone that denotes a mix of nostalgia and repulsion. I can't be alone in this respect. So let's create some '90s mixes...

It's ok, Czech. Best laid plans and all that. I'm glad someone recognized Jimmy Ray, by the way. I was reminded of his existence while going through a box in storage that contained a lot of CD singles, one of them being the aforementioned "Are You Jimmy Ray?" You see, I went through a snap for about three or four years where I would only buy CD singles and not the full albums. Not the most efficient usage of money, but it saved me from owning an entire ALBUM full of Jimmy Ray songs. And now that I mention that box of singles, has anyone mentioned Luscious Jackson's "Naked Eye"?

Carlos Marmol, dude. Serious man crush. Stranded all the runners despite getting jobbed on the botch call at second. This has turned into a hell of a game.

That's the first inside-the-park homer I've ever seen as it happened. And Soto of all people, even though the replay shows it was clearly a straight-up homerun, anyway. Wasn't tough to tell even when it happened.

I didn't expect this thread to blow up like it did, though I originally envisioned it being a dumping ground for everyone's '90s playlists and not a retread of the other '90s-related YouTube thread. Most of the obvious choices have long since been recognized, so here are a few off the top of my head: - Lisa Loeb: I Do - Jimmy Ray: Are You Jimmy Ray - Goo Goo Dolls: Name - Counting Crows: Mr. Jones - Matchbox 20: Push - Better Than Ezra: Good - Orgy: Blue Monday - Beastie Boys: So Whatcha Want? - White Town: Your Woman I think the next phase of this thread should be us putting together some compilations where the songs in each mix have some vague tie. This will ensure that Nirvana and Lisa Loeb don't wind up in the same compilation.

Well, they just keep getting more and more appealing.
