I'm on the West side of Chicago, lookin' for a bust down / Make me throw my two arms up, touchdown!

The Speakerboxxx intro has one of the best bass grooves to grace a hip-hop album in many years.

Maybe it's a good thing I only saw have of the game today and by saw, I mean kept tabs on via MLB Gameday. It's too early to overreact, though. The Tigers are 0-2, pegged to win the wild card, if not the AL Central, and they're playing the Royals.

Jason Kendall's thrown out two runners already. We'll ignore one was a result of a baserunning blunder and the other was a missed hit-and-run with Aramis on the basepaths.

The plaque on the new Ernie Banks statue says, "Lets play two." A century without a title AND we can't grasp rudimentary grammar.
-
Seriously. It wasn't as if he just faded away after that. He won the King of the Ring, was part of two fantastic feuds, and won the WWF Title within a year of losing to Yokozuna.

Juan Pierre's consecutive game streak ended with him not getting an appearance in today's game. It's too bad, in a way. He's the same player he was when the Dodgers inked him to that deal. Not a good one, but still the same.

If anything, today did much in Fukudome's favor to ensure he won't be in the fifth spot long. Theriot leading off followed by Soriano is a recipe for futility.
-
Rhodes' performance was actually an option for the most memorable Cubs' Opening Day earlier in the broadcast.
-
Holy hell. Fukudome just made himself a Chicago legend.
-
Oh well, at least we get to enjoy Ryan Dempster: Starting Pitcher.
-
What a shocking development.
-
We aren't a full day into the season and the White Sox crew has already put together a video package of plays where the Sox players have been screwed over by the umpires.
-
Is Ernie okay? It sounds like he's got a baseball cap lodged in his throat.
-
And naturally he leaves the game with cramping (hopefully) soon after.
-
Playoff caliber pitching thus far. Zambrano's made it through six without: 1) issuing a walk 2) punching a teammate

Lastings Milledge just went deep. Good things the Mets dumped his sorry ass.

I've seen some lineups that have Fukudome in the two-slot, which makes sense if his numbers in Japan were any indication. I guess I'm just cold on The Riot at this point, although I'm not yet ready to jump on the bandwagon that has made Ronny Cedeno a fashionable candidate once again.

Man, Ryan Theriot leading off, eh? Oooooooookay.

I started out on MySpace because Facebook wasn't available for my college at the time. They both have their perks and pratfalls. I find my allegiance to either one depends on how many messages, comments, and the like I'm getting at the time. MySpace is more prone to obnoxious layouts, but things aren't much prettier on the Facebook side thanks to applications. You can avoid them on your page, just like you can dodge the stupid layouts on your MySpace page. But that doesn't stop others from adding every silly application sent their way.

Rod Allen is going to be even more intolerable than usual with the addition of Miguel Cabrera.

Elijah Dukes is already heading to the DL.

Unless I'm mistaken, things went sour with Prior when the media started suggesting perhaps part of his problem was a poor mental makeup. This, of course, was before they decided to clean out Prior's shoulder, so whatever. My beef with Prior isn't so much the untapped potential. It's not his fault the media built him up as one of the key components to a Cubs rotation that was supposed to dominate baseball for years to come. My issue with him is that he didn't seem willing to bend when it came to contract negotiations. I think after four years of injury issues, he owed it to the Cubs to take an incentive-laced deal of sorts like Wood did.
-
He may come back, but isn't standard not to expect much from guys in his situation?

I watched Savage-Hart twice yesterday; once on my own and then later on with a couple friends. I can see some people not digging it, but I love how much emphasis is placed on injuries sustained during the match. We also watched the 10-man tag. Vince and company look like absolute geniuses for having planted the seeds of the Hart Foundation angle months ahead of Canadian Stampede. By time they got to the show, everything was firmly established and the heat is off the charts for just about everyone involved in the match. You know you've done a good job at booking when Jim Neidhart circa 1997 is getting big reactions.
