Derrek Lee just hit an inside-the-park homer to the stupidest centerfield outside of Houston.

White Sox pitching is always helpful. Good thing the Braves mortgaged the future on this season, right?

Quick, someone make a racially-charged comment about poor peripheral vision.

Given the right selections, this has the potential to become a recurring kind of thread. "Next week, let's get to know Drury. Thanks."

Brett Myers: Model Level-Headed Citizen It's how I'd picture things would go if Czech were a reporter.

I usually don't get into bashing umps, but the home plate ump in Arizona tonight is atrocious. The strike zone for both teams seems to vary from inning-to-inning. Craig Monroe just got called out on strikes in a huge situation, with the third strike requiring some sort of oar to make contact with.

In the event the Cubs win the Central, they'd better pray a team that doesn't reside in Arizona wins the west. They've won a grand total of nine games in Arizona since 1999. Oh, and Kerry Wood still sucks.

What do you think of framed album covers vis-a-vis being used for interior decor?

Glad we got a competitive FOX Saturday game. Methinks it's time for the White Sox to reboot their "sign hard throwers and don't worry about where the ball ends up" philosophy.

Wickman's a fun pitcher to watch. He just looks like someone's mid-age dad out there grimacing and struggling for breath between each pitch.

A friend and I found one of the new Blackberry phones on the ground of a club last weekend. We were visiting a friend and the area is easily upper class. We figured it probably belonged to some rich college kid, so we decided to hang onto it to sell off later. In the end, my friend's girlfriend (the one we were visiting) talked us into calling one of the contacts in the phone to set up a return after we'd gotten back to their place. P.S. we were right about who it belonged to, as the guy actually had the nerve to ask us to drive the 25 minutes back to the bar to give it to him. He picked it up the next morning and didn't offer any sort of compensation for being honest about it. He just asked where he could get a good breakfast. So, were we wise to give it back for karma's sake or should we have gone with first instinct and sold that sumbitch?

I don't condone dog fighting but the way some people are reacting (not necessarily here), I get the feeling that before the dust settles, I'm going to be the owner of a "Free Vick" shirt.

What, seriously? Unless he's injured or something, I don't understand that move. If the Braves wouldn't mind letting the Mets have him (which they almost certainly would) he'd be a hell of an upgrade over Guillermo Mota. He was creating controversy over not being used in the closer's role. Guys like that aren't needed.

Is it me or do the Pirates and Astros seem to play one incredibly long extra-innings game every year?

They got three out of it, so everything else is gravy. DLee still grounded into a DP, which makes four on the night for the team. It's almost like watching a game of MVP Baseball.

To the best of my knowledge, your dick never appeared in your avatar accompanied by a stupid expression on your face. -
Craig Monroe has an infield single to begin his Cubs career. That loads them up with no out again. Also Felix Pie has a consecutive walk streak going here (TWO!).

I must've misread Ron's original post.

Juan Cruz is one of the few former Cubs of recent years I actually miss.

The Cubs just broke out an old classic: loading the bases with no outs and not scoring. Shame too, since it took Sean Marshall out of the game, even though he'd only thrown 72 pitches through six innings. In San Fran, we've got a pitchers dual brewing. 8-6 in the Top of the 4th.

Do you think Billy Martin will come out and use home plate to check and make sure they're using the allowed amount of pine tar?

It's not so bad right now, but we've had some powerful rain the last two nights. I had the windows open during the day on Wednesday because it's back up in the high 80s. This led to some interesting redecorating throughout my apartment when the rains and WIND came that night. My bed had rain on it and it's at least four feet away from what was a partially open window. Traffic lights were out near the downtown area yesterday morning, which made driving conditions real fun, since half of the motorists out there don't know what a four-way stop is. It was nice out again today, but when I left work around 4:30, it was getting crazy out. There were times I could barely see the car in front of me and driving in the far right lane would've required a paddle. I always seem to get the big pick-up trucks behind me who don't understand why I'm not going the speed limit in these conditions. During the aforementioned stretch of almost non-visibility, a pick-up truck got behind me and started flashing his brights because I was going about five under. This just reinforced my theory that the majority of truck owners are impatient assholes.

Gonna be tough. I live less than an hour and a half away from Detroit and feared for my life on my drive home this afternoon.

I don't even know who this is. But she's not as bad as that SuperSweetSextSwingingDiva or whatever the hell her name was. I swear she just showed up one day to turn the porn folder into a "I'm a woman, so ask me questions" forum. Plus, she had a ton of cleavage shots and closeups of her eyes, which usually suggests the other aspects of her are not fit for viewing. And that was exactly the case.
