The Cubs will be sending a lefty from the 40-man roster to the Tigers in exchange for Monroe. That means it's Cotts, Ohman, or Rapada. Given how things went down after Ohman's demotion, I'd be pretty surprised if it's not him.

Oh please. We all know Billy Wagner isn't any good and will just blow every single meaningful game. Ignore his 29 saves. And his 1.64 ERA. And his 66 K's in 55 innings. He's a lousy closer who will only secure 40 wins for you each season and then be the lone reason the Mets fail in the postseason. Any team would be cursed to have him on their roster.

I'm not more than three days into my new job, but it's already caused me to fall terribly behind with baseball. I got out at five and saw the Craig Monroe news and didn't even note that the Cubs were already midway through their game. I came home a half-hour ago expecting to see the finale of the series. Blessing in disguise, though. Sounds like one of those aggravating games.

Craig Monroe to the Cubs. Just trade Murton. He may never pan out to be the guy some pegged him to become, but at least give him a chance to fail on a full-time basis.

They got 30! I'd probably kill myself if I were an Orioles fan.

It's funny their nine-run inning wasn't even their highest-scoring frame of the game.

I take back every bad thing I ever said or thought about Cliff Floyd. As it stands, Lincecum is on the hook for one of the toughest losses I can recall.

And not more than two minutes after posting that, the Cubs tie it in the ninth.

Leave it to the Cub offense to muster a whopping two hits, one walk, and no runs in a rare great outing for Jason Marquis. Poor guy went seven and only gave up one run. Of course, that run came without the benefit of the hit, as he walked three in the first. But still. Lincecum has OWNED them tonight. He's through eight and only thrown 22 of his pitches for balls.

Worse signing: Jason Marquis or Adam Eaton?

    First day of school tomorrow

Whether it's for good reasons or bad, this'll be the first time in 17 years I need not worry about heading back to school in the late summer slash early fall. Heading back for college wasn't ever that bad, but it was often the dregs during middle and high school.

    Ask Milky.

Do you think it's okay to find a sense of gratification when you see that an ex isn't doing so great (i.e. their looks have declined) or should it not matter to you one way or the other?

    Ask Milky.

As mentioned earlier, my sleep schedule's been messed up. I've been up since 11:30 a.m. and need to be up in less than two hours to take my brother to the airport. I'm then supposed to leave as soon as possible to make a three-hour drive to see my best friend graduate from police academy. At this point, I don't see much more than maybe a 20-minute nap squeezed in here. What can I do to ensure I don't die in a graphic car accident because I fell asleep at the wheel? Energy drinks, cold air, loud music, food? I'm still pretty alert, but can see fatigue slapping me in the face in a few hours and that could throw everything off.

I'm not sure I can watch such shitty baseball coming out of the NL Central much longer.

Jeff Suppan's a key member of it, for starters. Ben Sheets has been MIA for a while. And shit, Claudio Vargas is Claudio Vargas.

Major restaurants and stores not in your area?

I seem to see a Sonic's ad during every commercial break, regardless of what I'm watching, even though I think the closest one is a legit seven-to-eight hour drive. The closest IHOP is almost an hour away. White Castle is about 45 minutes away, although I'm not necessarily complaining on that front. No Jack in the Box, either. Or Chipotle. Or Panera Bread. Is it any wonder I'm not usually hard-pressed to indulge in fast food?

    Brian "Crush" Adams found dead

There was an WWF-themed episode of Family Feud from 1993 on the Game Show Network this afternoon and Crush was one of the participants. On a slightly-related note, Tatanka is as dumb as a post.

Not if you're using brown rice. You still get a fair amount of carbs, but a meal like this is perfect as a post workout meal. Good mix of carbs and protein, which are essentials your body needs following a workout. Some people think you need to abandon carbs in all cases to follow a healthy way of life. I still eat pasta, bread, rice, and the like. I just make sure it's whole wheat (or in the case of rice, brown) and the majority of the time, include it a PWO meal or breakfast if I'm actually up that early.

I've never been much of a salad guy until I realized how insanely good they are with the right ingredients. Last night, I threw together a tasty salad that included: - Couple tablespoons of balsamic vinegar - Two ounces of extra virgin olive oil - Four cups baby spinach - 1-2 ounces of blue cheese crumbles - Handful of cherry tomatoes - Black pepper If it hadn't been so late, I would've thrown in three or four marinated chicken tenders. A quality meal, right there and best yet, it virtually catches you up to speed on your recommended daily veggie intake, provides good fat, and a decent chunk of protein. I feel like making one right now.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - August 2007

I really need to invest in a DVD recorder. I'm not the kind who can sit and watch a two or three-hour show in one sitting. With the selections, I'm usually having to pass over at least a couple programs I'd like to watch, but just don't have the time for.
