I hate the term "reverse racism." No such thing exists. rac‧ism /ˈreɪsɪzəm/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[rey-siz-uhm] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. I see no specific race mentioned in that definition.

The point is, he's saved every game in the postseason in which there's been the opportunity. Why is preserving the lead not good enough? Is it really that horrible to have a guy who saved 40 regular season game and posted a 2.24 ERA? Is it? Because there are plenty of teams who would love to take that terrible burden off your hands. Well, at least you got the "blind eye" part right. Unless by "you" you meant "cheech." The only Wagner-related comment I made in that thread was the disbelief that anyone still cares about him using "Enter Sandman." Your copy of the record seems to be defective. Yes, it is about time we start giving more shit to guys with an ERA+ of 195, a K/BB ratio of 94/21 and a 95% save conversion rate. That's downright awful.

You're a fucking idiot. That's a closer's job. To save games. The important AND unimportant ones. Wagner has done an excellent job of saving the regular, inconsequential games throughout the season. But when the important ones come up...when the Mets need to maintain a 6-6 lead heading into the 9th inning in the NLCS....or a 4-0 lead heading into the ninth inning against the crosstown rival Yankees....he blows it. He can't be depended on in important, tense games and tonight only further proved that point. You really sound fucking clueless when you continue to insist that Mets fans shouldn't boo Wagner. Especially after what he did tonight. A bit high-strung, are we? I like how you say I'm clueless and insist Wagner can't be counted on to close out important games, despite the fact that he has saves in three of the four Met's postseason victories so far. Even the better closers blow game; it happens. But why shit all over the guy for it? You act as if it's a common thing. And I've mentioned the Mets fans booing him, uh, once. How do you continue something you're doing for the first time?
-
Very supportive of Mets fans to boo the man who saved dozens of games for them. I don't care for either team, but when the Cards are rolling, they're fun to watch.

Oakland doesn't even look like they deserve to be here. I'm wondering how much more pathetic the Twins would've looked. Oh well, I'd better prepare myself for another outburst of "life-long" Tigers fans coming out of the woodwork, a la the Pistons. "Yeah, yeah, they're awesome! I love Magglio Rodriguez and their closer Mike Jones!"
-
If the last week has been any indication, I can't see how the Tigers aren't going to win the World Series. We can say the A's have been terrible offensively, but given what the Yankees looked like last week, this is clearly just great pitching. The Oakland defense and pitching, on the other hand, hasn't been there for the team in the first two-and-a-half games.
-
Mets fans: is Lo Duca really the heart and soul of the team or was Brennaman joining the group of people who terribly overrate his ability/presence?
-
That segment was easily one of the best laugh-out-loud things they've done on the show. "No, it would probably take like an hour-and-a-half to tell you."
-
Tigers' pitching has to get some credit for holding the A's down, but the A's have themselves to blame for poor at-bat after at-bat with RISP. This should've been a much closer game. It's stupid to count out a team after the first game, but if the A's don't get the hitting with RISP together, forget about it.
-
Aramis Ramirez would be a cheap replacement only in respect to A-Rod's contract. I'm hoping he doesn't opt out, but with the thin third basemen FA pool, it's probably inevitable. And I know he wouldn't be expected to be THE guy for New York, which is a good thing. Lee's injury proved that Ramirez is a great hitter, but a complimentary star at best.

The rest of their catalog is hit or miss. I would imagine a lot of their staying power has to do with all of the unique personalities within the original set.
-
I'm not saying the Central wasn't bad; it's common knowledge they were. But the two West teams were downright embarrassing and illustrate how terrible the NL is. Two-for-32 with RISP is just ungodly bad. The Cards should've just intentionally put a man at second to lead off every inning and then they would've been ensured not to give up any runs.
-
Or the fact that the West had a 50 percent chance of making it to the NLCS and they blew it?
-
The Central is going to be represented in the NLCS. Padres can go home. Just terrible hitting the entire series and Bochey's looking like an idiot for saving Peavy for a game that isn't gonna happen.
-
The NL West is embarrassing.
-
He doesn't look to have it tonight, but he's lucky to only be down by two. With Woody Williams going, I'm not sure even this Cards lineup will be hard-pressed to plate a pair.
-
But that's a signing that wouldn't take top-dollar. Like Al said, he's terribly underrated. Unfortunately, I sense we'll be getting a Pierre extension.
-
I was actually thinking the Cubs shouldn't worry about re-signing Pierre and instead, dunk the money into securing Ramirez and picking up Roberts at a fraction of what Pierre would cost. Guy has always been a thorn in the Cubs' side.

Joe Torre did not sign Carl Pavano for four years at $39 million. Joe Torre did not sign Jaret Wright for three years at $21 million. Joe Torre did not sign Jason Giambi and Gary Sheffield to lengthy contracts that would ensure part of those years would include their respective declines. Joe Torre did not insist on building a starting lineup of All-Stars that left no money for the bench, middle relief and backend of the starting rotation. Joe Torre did not insist on trading for an aging hurler and then signing him to a lengthy extension. Torre got all of this credit when the Yankees went on a tear without Matsui and Sheffield, but now he's suddenly back to being a terrible manager. He made some questionable moves in the ALDS (benching Sheffield, hitting A-Rod eighth, etc.), but none of these moves would have made the ultimate difference. The team was simply outmatched and that can happen when you face a team that won 95 games, primarily on pitching strength and the best you could counter with was a finished 43-year-old and a perennially bad pitcher with one good season to his credit since the mid-1990s. Get over it.
-
Yeah, maybe next year those losers will win more than 97 lousy games.
-
At the end of the day, the Tigers were a better team. They may have not had a better offensive lineup (on paper), but the opposing rotations weren't anywhere near the same level. I highly doubt Jaret Wright doesn't suck ass in Game 4 if A-Rod gets along with everyone on the team.

Chemistry's something you do in a high school classroom. A bunch of millionaires failing because they supposedly don't have any, is an absurd notion.
-
I am so sick of people complaining about that stupid Lo Duca trade. He's gotta be the most overrated player in baseball.
-
The Yanks dominated the Tigers during the season. The two wins the Tigers had came off relievers not named Mariano Rivera. Speaking of Mo, did he even pitch in this series? When's the last time he didn't pitch in a postseason series? As for Wood, he's already stated he's going to give relief work a shot, so I wouldn't sign him in hopes of him starting. Or pitching.

A few of the selections have me thinking some people misread the title of the thread as "Rap Album Covers," in which the purpose was to just post rap album covers.
