I didn't know that this was the second A's inside-the-park homer in postseason history. The last one? October 4, 2002. The centerfielder who misplayed it into a homer? Tori Hunter.

I said it somewhere else, but I'd like Dusty in the booth. I can't stand his philosophies on baseball, but he's a personable guy who can't possibly be any worse than the majority of the guys ESPN employs.

Yes. I was in class all afternoon, so this was my first chance to see the Hunter play.

NOMAR! Enjoy the silence.

Apparently the strikezone dips down to the ankles now.

Twins are done. The A's have a history of pissing away series where they just need the clincher, but I can't envision them not sealing the deal with two at home and only having to see Santana once more. Now let's just hope the A's don't look like fools against the Yankees. Or Tigers.

Wanna know what WP has been up to since getting banned?

"You'll probably get to know a lot more about anime if you end up meeting me." That's soooo my opener the next time I'm at the bar. -
I watched the game at Applebee's and was pulling for Detroit until a bunch of ignorant dudes came in and instantly converted the table into Yankees fans. One of the guys said if Inge had gotten a hit, he'd go home and beat his dog. Uh, yeah. Detroit's in trouble, though.

What an ad campaign this could make. The PS3 is infant face-smashing awesome! I shall join Tyrone in hell. -
Lord knows he was probably trying to dump another useless hitter like Adam Dunn for Day and Eischen.

"The loser will be down by one game" I swear, I keep forgetting what he looks like. No matter how many times I see him, the face and voice just don't click and thus, I can't sustain a clear mental picture of what the guy looks like. In fact, I invariably wind up seeing this guy whenever I try to picture McCarver: Never mind the two look nothing alike. It's ingrained in my mind like that for some reason.

I don't know if it's so much the Cards looking impressive (although, there have been some nice defensive plays) as it is the Padres just being awful with RISP.

Wasn't Zach Day supposed to be a pretty good prospect once upon a time? Or am I just making things up?

ESPN's reporting El Duque is hurt and they aren't sure if he can start.

Just to show you how impatient Twins hitting has been, Zito's only thrown 73 pitches through six, despite walking three.

These are the two teams in the postseason I'd like to see win it all, so naturally, they're playing each other in the first round. I don't really mind seeing either team win, but they'd better move onto the World Series.

I heard he was well liked, but wasn't heavy on the technical aspect of hitting. Or something.
-
I hope the Marlins hire him.

Dusty's talking to the press on WGN right now. I think they'll be showing it on ESPN News, too.

Burn. Yankees are the obvious favorites, but this isn't going to be a cakewalk. I'm still jaded in regards to the Tigers getting this far, but curiosity makes me want to see the Yanks exit early merely for the reactions around here.

The Pads are already ahead of the game this year, since Peavy made it through the celebration without breaking any ribs.

Dusty = GONE~!

Game 1 on the 2003 ALDS against the Twins is the last one I recall seeing.

What an utter collapse by Detroit. Making the playoffs almost seems anti-climatic at this point. The division seemed like such a sure thing when the White Sox dropped out. Give credit to the Twins, but this was really a case of the Tigers just dropping the ball when they had everything in their favor. I was sure it was over when they had them loaded with one out in the 11th. Well, I guess I need to become a Tigers fan for the first round.

This has gotten relatively no publicity, but today is Tim Salmon's final game. He's sitting on 299 homers and they've been playing him each game lately, but he's running out of at-bats to pull it off.
