Jason Isringhausen sure sucks sometimes.

In a shocking turn of events, the Cubs failed to push across a run with a lineup that featured Freddie Bynum batting second, Tony Womack and Neifi Perez playing second, and John Mabry DH'ing.
-
Tony Womack left with back spasms, so we get Neifi Perez instead of Todd Walker. Not sure I understand the logic behind putting Walker in there against lefties and then benching him against righties. Oh, and the new Macias (Bynum) leads off with a single, (barely) steals second and then for some reason, tries to steal third and is caught. Bob Brenly really ripped into him for trying to steal third with Ramirez, Nevin and Jones coming up.

The word "clutch" is being used to freely on this page it's beginning to lose any meaning.

David Ortiz just hit his 293rd walkoff homer of the season to cap it for the Sawx.

Don't they have to make a pitching change if they visit the mound twice in the same inning, excluding ones for injuries?

Hey, how 'bout that Astros bullpen? I hope Roger Clemens can pitch complete games.

And here I was watching the E! True Hollywood Story of 90210 earlier this week. Odd, since I never watched the show or any of his other shows, for that matter. -
Looks like another typical Sandler affair. I feel for the guy, though. He tried to branch out and get away from the stale character he's basically played in all of his movies and it got crapped on by his so-called fans (re: Punch Drunk Love).

As much as it pains me to see the Indians fall out of the fold and the idea that I may have to deal with suddenly confident Detroit Tigers fans, this postseason has the potential to feature a fresh feel to it with "new" faces like the Tigers and Mets involved.

I wasn't much a fan of the series when it was on or even when it came to DVD. The praise it got from people about being better than The Simpsons just amplified my feelings. I've watched a few episodes on Adult Swim and it's better than I remember, but it's still not a show I'm gonna dance a jig to in celebration of its revival.

The lack of Ventura is really annoying and in the past, has killed the atmosphere of the overall matches that have been presented on these DVDs. The talking packaging is sort of embarrassing, too. I was in Wal-Mart last week and pressed it, expecting a short sound bite. Instead, I got this intesified Dusty Rhodes, spewing a heated promo for everyone in the entertainment department to hear. I just slowly backed away.

Against the D-Rays, no less.

Hey, the Cubs scored a run off Santana. They've surpassed my expectations for them on the night. I guess the Sun-Times writer who was insisting on a near-daily basis Dusty Baker's extension was imminent is now saying his days are numbered. Let's hope his "sources" on this one are a little more reliable than those who were feeding him tidbits on the alleged extension.

And he's also a piece of trash. The quote, "I'm not going to let you do this to me anymore" suggests this wasn't an isolated incident. Of course, I'd say if you're beating your wife in public, that much can be assumed without the quote.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend looks okay the first minute of the trailer, but once we get into the super-hero part, it starts looking like a terrible parody of a movie.

Oh and may I add that Ozzie in sensitivity classes has the all the makings to be the best reality show we've ever seen?

Uh oh, Brett Myers has been a bad boy. I always heard he liked to box. King, I wouldn't worry about Mueller. From what I've read, the surgery may not only mean the end of his season, but career, too.

Al, at this point, there are no better options for left. I've heard perhaps Nevin in the outfield, but that could be disasterous. The only other options appear to be Bynum and Womack. Maybe Mabry, but you get the idea. If they're going to work from an in-house perspective, Murton's probably their best choice.
-
Derrek Lee is expected back Monday and I've read that MATT MURTON is the possible candidate to be sent down when that happens. I'm gonna break something if Murton's sent down and Freddie Bynum remains on the MLB roster.

Just got back from the Indians/Cubs game that was cut short due to heavy rain and OMG LIGHTNING! Anyway, the Indians' defense cost them this game, even if there were no errors. With two on and no outs, a grounder to Broussard was thrown home, even though Neifi wasn't going home. That loaded up the bases. The next play was hit to Belliard, who wanted to throw to second or first. He double-clutched in both directions before making no play. From there, the Cubs just laid in single after single to eventually drive Sabathia out. Later on, Todd Hollandsworth gave the Indians fans the most they had to cheer about on the night. With two on, he hit a ball right to a charging Nevin at first. Knowing that going back to first to get the out would mean the runner at third would attempt to score, Nevin just went towards Hollandsworth, who sort of inched his way back to homeplate, occasionally looking over at the runner at third. There was a point when Nevin and Holly were just looking at each other before the tag was finally applied. Not sure if it'll make the highlights, but I'd never seen such a drawn out play like that before. P.S. some drunkard went apeshit during the delay when Wagner couldn't nail down the game. We were watching the game on the big scoreboard and I guess I was the only person who was happy to see him blow the game. Good times.

Red Sox pick up Jason Johnson after the Indians designated him for assignment yesterday. I know they need starters, but I wouldn't like this move if I'm a Sox fan.
-
I forgot to mention it, but tonight's match-up in Cleveland is Zambrano and Sabathia. Should be amazing.

The Yankees are interested in Jacque Jones. I know he's come on to be on of the Cubs' better hitters, but if they can make this deal, dear god, make it. Unless that means like, Freddie Bynum: starting rightfielder.
