That's nothing. Some folks at DVD Talk are spending close to a grand. One guy, a college student, spent over $1600.
-
Jeter UNclutch for the second day in a row.
-
Ronny! Good to see the Cubs hitting it out with runners ON. To think this game was one pitch away from having an entirely different complexion a half-inning ago.
-
David Ortiz is just unreal sometimes.
-
There we go, three singles. Good thing, too, since Neifi and the pitcher are due next.
-
Eric Milton's no-hitting the Cubs through four. Uh oh!
-
Carlos Marmol will get his first start in the bigs after looking quite impressive out of the pen since his call up from Double A. This should be interesting.
-
I'm not sure why the first two were signed to begin with.
-
Punto's dumb defensive play means no save opportunity for Ray. Damn it.
-
What an at-bat from Thomas.
-
Oh, A-Rod, you're so unclutch.
-
Another blown game by the Indians' pen. They aren't going anywhere without some work to that portion of the team. Of course, with all the baserunners they had tonight, the game shouldn't have been decided by one run.
-
Both Indians announcers think it's a good idea for Michaels to bunt the runners along with no outs and take the bat out of Hafner's hands. None of it matters, though, since Michaels can't get it done and K's.

I dunno. That called third strike was REAL close and considering how wild Dempster had been and how slim the zone had been in the inning, it was not a necessarily bad take for him. But I guess with two strikes on you, you have to defend. I hope the Cubs took note on how to put together a nice late-inning rally. Don't swing at everything and maybe the opposing pitcher will make a game of it without making you take the bat off your shoulder.
-
I'm not sure WHY Todd Jones is still the closer. Especially when you consider how amazing the rest of that pen is.
-
Whew. You're killing me Dempster. Note to Dusty: don't let your closer sit for a week in between appearances next time. My heart.
-
Brandon Phillips has hit into the worst luck tonight. It's up to Griffey.
-
I hate Dusty, but it's tough to blame him for Dempster being just awful lately. Two-run game in the ninth and Dempster walks Dunn to lead it off, gives up a single and walks Valentine. Oh boy.
-
Jays still ass at hitting with RISP, but not as badly as the Indians. They have two more on in the fourth and strand them again. Vazquez is almost to 100 pitches, but he's got eight strikeouts and has somehow managed to give up only one run despite allowing 10 baserunners.
-
Boy, Beltran's been on fire lately. Naturally, he's on the opposing team in my fantasy league this week.
-
Cards now up 8-6 after being down 6-0. Six walks in four innings will cause some problems.
-
The Indians should probably be up by 10 by now. They've had the bases loaded the last two innings and had two on in the first. For that, they have one run, which came in the first frame.
-
Why on earth would Jason Michaels swing at a 3-1 count with the bags full, one out and Hafner on deck? A Podsednik error doesn't wind up costing the Sox any runs because of the Michaels doubleplay. Meanwhile, the Jays can't hit with RISP and Mark Mulder gets roughed up again.
-
Jays just pissed away a great chance to rough up Bonderman.

He's looked incredible early in the going; Stoney compared his stuff to Angel Guzman's prior to his arm troubles. Speaking of Guzman, he's been called up, which probably means he's going to get Wood's start. I'm hoping Marmol gets to go in place of Rusch next time out.
