The only caveat is having to deal with the stream of dumbass comments on the sidebar of this stream.

I love how FOX News personalities generally act frantically as if they're selling OxiClean, even in a sit-down interview about a book.

Although I don't talk to her anymore, I've kept this girl's screen name on my buddy list for the sheer novelty of her bi-polar away messages. Depending on which day you check them, she's either having the time of her life or melting down from the latest crisis of her apparently oh-so-terrible life. She tends to lament the fact that people screw her over all the time, which I think may be an indirect result of her lamenting that people screw her over all the time. The way she airs her grievances so publically is also quite unbecoming. Because it's become such a frequent occurence, I've decided to immortalize such away messages here, for you, the smart marks! More to come, no doubt.

On a sidenote, apparently George Steele was supposed to be in the battle royal. He said he hurt himself coming to the ring and refused to go inside. He just kind of wandered off when he knew he was supposed to be eliminated. I'm guessing he either didn't want to take an over the top rope bump and/or didn't want to do any kind of job. My guess is that if anything, it'd be Gorilla yelling into Vince's headset during SuperStars/SNME shows. That's interesting; where'd you hear that? This was the second wrestling video I ever rented, so I've seen it legitimately at least a couple dozen times. The argument over Steele in the opener was always a head scratcher, since he was clearly outside the ring, even during the intros.

The AIM Away Messages of a Bi-Polar
Bruiser Chong replied to Bruiser Chong's topic in No Holds Barred
She was all on top of the world a week or two ago, posting away messages about how excited she was for her future. Sounded like she'd been getting some male attention. Well, guess not... MySpace.... Break out that extensive vocab and woo her, Czech. -
Is the media still really talking about this? I've got a right-wing cop friend who's bitching now that the slain cops in Oakland aren't getting anything attention "just because Obama was on the Tonight Show." The media spent days talking about the appearance because of what he said, not necessarily because he was simply on the show. And since the Oakland story was developing just two days ago, I haven't seen the Obama story take away any press from it. A friend of his chimed in said he doesn't know or care what Obama said on the Tonight Show, but insists that his mere presence has taken away coverage of the Oakland incident. My head exploded.

As it should be. With all of this country's problems considered, you really want our extended focus to be on a joke the rights are too sensitive to absorb?
-
is gonna be 2009's "Crank dat Soulja Boy."

I like how there's so much focus on Heenan ducking out on Rumble hosting duties when neither he nor Monsoon wound up commentating.

The second part of the show is one of the most confusing collection of clusterfucks we've seen in the 2000s. Starting with this bizarre match in the graveyard, the JJ/Hogan "shoot," the Goldberg turn, etc. What was the deal with this Hogan thing, anyway? I'm sure I've heard the story before, but what was the motive for it? The best part about this show is the commercial video was put out in limited numbers and subsequently can easily get $300+ on eBay.

Milton Bradley is already hurt.

I think he's focusing on how Fox jumped on Olberman for saying it when it doesn't seem that he was even the one who muttered the phrase.

2009 Oscar prediction contest
Bruiser Chong replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Television & Film
I haven't seen the movie...but did it have to be made? Despite strong performances (from what I hear) was that a story people were dying to hear again? If you're referring to Frost/Nixon, then yes. The complications and stakes behind the trio of interviews is a pretty interesting and unknown, story. -
Ye is quoted in this month's XXL as saying he doesn't even listen to rap and that his apartment is "too nice" to listen to rap in.

Superbowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals

I guess if I don't wind up doing shit with my own life, my claim to fame can be I was friends with LaMarr Woodley in the sixth grade. -
It's a "strong possibility" that Rich Hill is heading to the O's. It's not a definite yet, Marvin. It's a shame how this has all played out, but unlike Pie, Hill had his chance. He spent almost the entire 2008 season in rookie ball trying to get his shit together and it never really happened. He's out of options, which makes it a near impossibility for the Cubs to hold on to him. IIRC, he was always projected as a guy who'd have some really good years, but then bottom out quickly. I guess he's a good gamble for a team that isn't doing anything in 2009, but he's got a lot of work ahead of him if his 2008 season was any indication of where he's at.

That's a silly move for the Cubs. Not for what they'd give up, but for what they're trying to acquire.

I was at the show, even though I haven't really followed wrestling in four years. - I've never seen anyone so consistently hated and adored simultaneously as John Cena. I've seen a few of his matches live and it seems like the split crowd spends the duration battling each other - RVD return got a crazy pop. My friend thought it was just going to be Charlie Haas keeping up his gimmick. - Detroit loves Jim Duggan. - Detroit loves Santino. - Everyone around me was chanting for Christian at the outset of the Edge/Hardy match. - Wrestling fans are really embarrassing. According to the guys sitting behind us, Cody Rhodes is Dusty's son and Goldust is Dusty's brother. Mick Foley is also in "Bret Hart's wrestling league." They also thought they were hilarious starting the Rumble countdown during EVERY match. And they said they'd rather see Kurt Angle vs. Kevin Nash than anything on the Rumble card. - My friends have a betting pool during each Rumble match that involves putting numbers 1 through 30 in a hat. Put in five bucks and you're in. There were five of us, so we each got six numbers. My only decent pick was The Undertaker. I had number 9, too, which means I was one off from Orton. We also had dollar pools for the first guy who got eliminated, which I also missed out on despite good odds (I had Carlito and Rey). I did, however, win the other dollar pool for having the guy that eliminated Shelton Benjamin. Things were certainly more interesting for me with money on the line. Though I knew Orton was likely winning from the start, I was PISSED when Taker and Show took each other out.

Oh, Jim Hendry. Another former untouchable dealt for pennies on the dollar.

It needs to warm up/stop snowing so I can go back to wearing shoes. I'm too anal about the condition of my shoes to wear them during these Michigan winter months.

Jumping into this sweater conversation, I'm all for slimmer cut models. Great for layer. It's tough to mess up the collared shirt-sweater combo. I've got a couple cardigans in my arsenal. My favorite's not a traditional model, though. Thin cotton and paired with a hood.

STF = shrink to fit. You're supposed size up an inch on the waist and three inches for the inseam. Even after the shrink, I'll need to get them hemmed a couple inches.

Pick-ups for the week: Much-needed socks x Nike Air Force 1's 07 x Old Navy Flannel x Manifest "Boyz in the Hyundai" Tee x Levi's 501 STF. I wish the 501's didn't have such tapered leg openings, because I love the raw denim. I'm trying to move away from boot-cut jeans, though, unless I'm actually wearing boots or chunky shoes.

This is getting compared to Crash, in that it's being universally praised despite shallow, ham-fisted writing. I really got into the movie, though the terrible acting outside of Clint made it difficult at times.
