Man, I need quite a rally in the late games to top Verne.

For people sick of the Brady-Montana comparisons, skip this post. Jerry Rice's first big season was 1986, when Joe Montana was 30 (though Joe only played 8 games of that season) With his first year with Moss, care to guess how old Brady is? Yes, 30. Though I don't think they will have quite the numbers that duo had since Moss is a 10-year vet already while it was just Rice's second season. Still, that's kinda eerie.

Oh, come ON! Taking a ranked team to the brink is a nice moral victory, but I'm probably the best 1-3 team in this whole thing right now. I think I've lost my three games by a combined 3 or 4 picks

Season 2 starts tomorrow night, but I have to work so I'll probably miss most of it. Huzzah for NBC's free episode streaming.

We're doing another MLB awards ballot this year, right?

At least link to the right one: EDIT: Looks like the NFL has received -- and destroyed -- all the material they ordered New England to turn over, so this story is officially put to rest. I'm getting a Farenheit 451 vision with Goodell throwing a bunch of tapes and documents into a giant pyre.

The Chargers' problem is that their offense hasn't gotten on track yet and it is completely reliant on two guys (Tomlinson and Gates); they have no threats in the receiving corps. Their defense is also reliant on just one component (the front seven) as their secondary is average at best.

Baltimore (7.5) New England (15.5) Detroit (6.5) Indianapolis N.Y. Jets (3.5) Kansas City (2.5) (4.5) San Diego Pittsburgh (9.5) St. Louis Cincinnati Cleveland Denver (3.5) (4.5) Carolina Washington (4.5) Dallas New Orleans (4.5) BAL - 28 points.

Watching this with a 101 fever made it even better. I hope the ratings reflect the awesome this season is going to bring.

I think it was more Vince playing Jack Kevorkian and putting the crippled WCW out of it's misery. ECW, that was a suicide.

Here's a good one. Yes, it's that match. The fun begins at around the 7:30 mark.

...in week 3? In the NFC no less? The Bears defense will carry them to a minimum 4 seed.

The Magic Number Countdown Boston - 9 Cleveland - 9 Anaheim - 6 Yankees (for the WC) - 11 Mets - 11 Cubs - 13 D'Backs - 12 Padres (for the WC) - 13 Looks like Anaheim should clinch sometime this week.

But it's a divisional game and they are always up for divisional games. If it was someone like the Lions (like last year) I'd say there might be a chance, but I doubt it.

This is what I get for clicking "Un-ignore this member". They cut the magic # down in this series, so it wasn't a total loss. Too bad the football game grabbed my attention because this seemed like quite the pitchers duel.
-
Know the scariest thing about all this? Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison aren't even playing yet. When they are added to this mix.....my God.
-
Of course I leave Braylon Edwards on my fantasy bench. But in my defense, how the fuck was I supposed to predict THIS?
-
Wondering what happened to Mike Hargrove since he stepped down from managing in Seattle? Wonder no more! He's now managing the semi-pro team in Kansas that he played for 30 years ago. Why should anyone care? The team has the greatest name ever.
-
I have a pretty decent week overall, but of course the three I get wrong are the three that were different from Michigan's. Shi't.
-
Blowing a lead like that in that fashion with those pitchers is tought to watch regardless of what team it is.
-
Wow, this Yankee defense is just putrid. These guys are just booting and missing plays left and right tonight.
-
I think he had some kind of soreness or tightness or something in his shoulder.
-
J.C. Romero. That name brings me back. He wasn't horrible, but he did walk a lot of guys (15 in 20 IP) EDIT: Oh, God, Eric Gagne is in the game. Buckle up, everyone.

Okajima's been horrible these past few months: a 5.06 ERA in August and a 4.15 this month (and that's before this game). They just can't put the fucking division away already.
