Well you've got two guys who are good at popping the crowd, so as long as they keep it short and use it as an angle moreso than an actual match, it shouldn't be too shit.
-
I was thinking something along similar lines but it looks like we'll get Chavo vs Eddie and WGTT vs Bashams at Survivor Series, so that takes them out of the running for the elimination match.

Is there any official word on those contracts - to run with your example....C.M. Punk signs a one year contract with TNA. Now, in his current position with the company, I think it'd be fair to say that he's lower midcard. Let's say that he kicks off a feud with Raven in three months time (shut up, 1inch ) that catapults him to the top of the card. He strikes an afinity with the fans and is, all of a sudden, a main event talent with the company. So, for the remainder of his contract, he gets paid the same money as when he started. I'm just as murky on the WWE contracts - aren't their wrestlers paid X amount with Y extra coming from merchandise and Z from PPV bonuses ? With said PPV bonuses varying depending on your place on the card ? Is there any provision for merchandise money in a TNA contract ? Apologies to all, this should probably be over in the NWATNA folder.

You're always going to have people moaning, and I'm not disputing that the WWE is on a major downtrend at the moment but it always irks me that I see a lot of nebulous reports credited to 1wrestling ('WWE wrestlers aren't happy') but never anything in connection to TNA (even when the Observer and Torch (yeah, yeah, I know carry reports that certain wrestlers on their roster aren't happy.) 1wrestling used to have a great pattern, hell, they might still follow it : Step 1. Raw airs Step 2. Something happens which outrages IWC Step 3. 1wrestling reports that WWE management are very, very happy with the way the event which so-outraged smarks went down. Step 4. Smackdown airs Step 5. See step 2 Just a personal gripe really.

I don't visit 1wrestling at all myself so, out of interest, do they ever publish similar articles about NWATNA ?

It's a long shot, but maybe Shane will return from his recent hiatus and not look like a tub of shit.

Nikko was being sarcastic in his opening paragraph.
-
No, he's done.

It's a rare WWE program that has to last six months, hell till the PPV split, you only had to get 4 shows worth out of most feuds. yeah... the brand split makes it harder to book fueds because you now have more time. but on the other hand you get to see what works and what doesn't before you risk putting it on ppv. not like vince cares or anything. Well my point was more that you were discounting angles out of hand on the basis that they couldn't stretch to six months when clearly the don't need to be. Even in the advent of the split, the WWE appear to be opting for a four week on/four week off holding pattern. So you have Brand A spinning it's wheels while Brand B builds towards its PPV that month, with Brand A's major feuds only kicking in after Brand B's PPV.

WARRIOR ANNOUNCES RETURN TO WRESTLING
eirejmcmahon replied to The Thread Killer's topic in TNA Wrestling
They lose money every week and are beholden to the Panda folks for their existence. No deal has been signed with EA for a video game. I know Hart 'announced' that Hogan has signed for the company, but I still wouldn't take it as read that he has till I hear the actual details of any contract he's meant to have signed. Panda do seem committed in the long term, so I reckon they'll support the company through to at least June of next year. The only possible disaster I see on the horizon would be the total failure of the Bound For Glory special souring the Panda guys on the company, and I don't think we'll even see that special pre-Wreslemania. -
WARRIOR ANNOUNCES RETURN TO WRESTLING

Funny to think about but there's no way that the bods at NWATNA are stupid enough to bring in Warrior. -
Oh sweet Jesus...the only thing better than Earthquake would be Brutus!
-
I don't know why, but your post gave me a laugh.
-
God, I hope it's Earthquake.
-
Agreed. Shunting AJ off to the X-division and away from the title doesn't do him any favours mind. I think it's fair to say that he was a lame-duck champ.
-
They're not going to get Hogan till post Mania, if at all. Hope I'm wrong, but doubt I am.
-
I wouldn't. Just a personal preference thing but Hogan doesn't entertain me in the slightest.
-
I can't imagine what benefit anyone associated with 1wrestling would have from propigating this kind of story. Having said that, I hope it's on the money - I'd rather have Hogan fucking around with Jeff than taking up time at Mania.

Till Vince McMahon signs him back. -
I disagree with a lot of what you say but I'm with you on this.

Setback or Blessing in Disguise??

If they want to hold if before the summer, they're going to need to find a new headline act - isn't the Macho Man available ? -
Setback or Blessing in Disguise??

Whoa, that figure's a lot higher than anything I've heard - where'd you get it from ? -
I'd say chances are good that he will - it's the logical thing to do now.

Setback or Blessing in Disguise??

It certainly makes things interesting, right now I don't think that Hogan will be appearing for TNA till some point after Wrestlemania, which is obviously something of a setback for them.
