The highlight was a video package....and the other company do them just fine, bring the wrestling TNA!!
-
I've been disappointed with the wrestling content of Impact since moving to Spike - the one thing TNA can offer over WWE is top class in-ring action yet we're barely getting any of that on the weekly shows.
-
Surprised at this - thought the arrival of Christian and the fact that it was a post-PPV show would boost the ratings.
-
It was an ill-conceived panic move.
-
Heh. Like the Rhino title 'run' you mean ?
-
Sorry bout that, it's been such a topic of conversation around here that I forgot the episode hadn't aired yet - my bad. Could a mod change the subject line maybe ? edited to add : I see bps and redjed have voted

Jericho would be better for TNA but personally I want to see Benoit tear it up with the obvious choices.

Just don't make him JJ's lapdog.

Vince/WWE vs. Wrestling New Sites/Net Fans
eirejmcmahon replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Well if Scherer says it, it must be true! -
I still think it's a wee bit too early for this kind of talk, they've been on for a month and the rating dropped last weekend - putting them head to head with Raw right now would be suicide - unless, as someone said up above, Spike have a realistic view of what TNA could pull in that spot.
-
It's funny that Austin seems to know less about his storyline than those watching the show and reading the dirtsheets - everyone here KNEW that JR wasn't getting his job back soon for various reasons (Vince hates him), so it was pretty obvious that Austin wouldn't be winning the match.
-
Sounds like they just need to nogiate a new contract so doubt he's going far but, used properly, he could be a big asset to TNA.
-
BFG - I reckon you nailed it with the post of two you made on the OAO thread but would like to see you go into a little more detail.
-
Haven't watched a WWE PPV in over a year so just looking at BFG in isolation, I thought it was an alright show but fell far short of what it needed to be in terms of being TNA's marque event. Personally I think putting the belt on Rhyno is dumb, surprised at the lengths some normally level headed people are going to in order to justify it. I've no sympathy for them with regards to Nash having to pull out - he should never have been in that position in the first place.
-
... Fucktards.
-
I didn't, thanks for the heads up.
-
TNA is pulling nearly a 1/3 of what Smackdown is managing!
-
"They've a 1/4 of your audience and they've been on television for all of five minutes, old man" There's no way that shit on Raw did well last night.
-
I hope someone at Spike is faxing Vince these figures with a comparison to Velocity's weaker numbers.
-
Not really enjoying the shows but that's good news for them, like TNABaddboi I thought they'd fall down around the .5 mark.
-
Granted Mike's a contrary sort but here he's kind of in the right - the argument that TNA pulled a 1.3 and are set for Monday night head-to-head with Raw is more than a little silly.
-
I think you're getting just a little carried away there - if in, say, two months TNA is doing similar or better numbers...then maybe.
-
Good start - Spike need to put down the crack pipe if they were seriously entertaining the notion that they'd pull in a 1. They put a lot of advertising muscle behind it mind, so maybe they weren't wrong in expecting something a little higher. As someone said, next week's rating will be more interesting, personally I don't think they put on a strong enough show first time out but we'll see what the bulk of the audience thought soon enough.
-
That's not an unfair point, the reality is they probably should've been aiming for somewhere between the two extremes. Their debut show just looks do disappintingly blah, though hopefully it'll look better than it reads as this will be their big chance to make an impression with the viewers drawn by the ad campaign. Bps and I used to have some great back and forths back when TNA started off with those awful weekly PPVs, I'm dying for TNA to do well on Spike as I can't stand the current WWE product.

Warrior absolutely shreds WWE in Byte This reponse

I want an arena packed to the rafters chanting "little puffy man" at HHH.
