That'd be a brave move - their timeslot is far from ideal, hoping that they get a second chance to woo viewers may be overly optimistic. I honestly thought (and hoped) that TNA were going to embarrass the fuck out of the WWE by putting on a blow away debut that'd make the Homecoming gig look like shit, but now.... Maybe that was always too much to hope for but TNA have the crew to put on a stunning hour of television and I'm at a loss as to why they didn't decide to do so right out of the gate.

THe OAO Last Raw on Spike TV Thread (09.26.05)
eirejmcmahon replied to BHK's topic in The WWE Folder
Um....he's talking about the WWE's deal with Spike. -
He's older than my dad and has bitch tits, it was more embarrassing than anything. Nobody else wants to see old men hobbling around the ring, trying to remember not to piss themselves in the name of 'entertainment'.
-
Steph's surname is Leveque now, which may have been the point he was making.
-
WHATINTHEFUCK?</Trailer Park Boys> Still, anything's better than watching Old Man Taker shooting magical lightning bolts at cheques.
-
Yeah, you can't fault Spike, they're really throwing their weight behind TNA.
-
But most of the talent in question hasn't been given the chance to perform at the Main Event level in a national promotion. JJ has and, well, he was a total disaster.

Could you imagine the look on Vince's face if Raw got beat by a TNA rerun!

TNA Meeting with Spike about Promoting Impact
eirejmcmahon replied to TNABaddboi's topic in TNA Wrestling
Yeah, it's 13 weeks -
How can wrestling fans not get behind TNA when presented with this shit ? Orton gets a LUCKY win on the back of a SHIT run-in by his dad and then OLD MAN Taker wrangles a rematch where he beats two men on the bollocks reasoning that he's not pinning the younger guy so it's A ok. Dear Undertaker, You're a fucked up old man who's on the road 95% of the year. Your wife is fucking around behind your back and no matter how many rigged matches you 'win' you're still a burned out fool who thinks he's a zombie!

The JJ snipe was funny but it loses a lot when you look at the quality of the show its made on.
-
Apparently TNA only have a 13 week contract with Spike and are expected to deliver a set rating (matching Velocity before growing) over that period.
-
I can't stop laughing at this. So dumb.
-
I'll believe this when the PPV airs and Raven isn't on it, for all their faults TNA aren't DUMB enough to put their belt on someone they don't have locked down to a solid contract.
-
Quoted for comedy.
-
You'd probably get away with it performing for four men and a dog in some barn out in Hickville but as soon as you hit television or PPV....
-
I don't think TNA need any of these bozos.
-
If Matt had come out when his music played at the wedding then I would've bought Vengence...now ? It feels like that ship has sailed.
-
Any word on the kind of money Spike are looking for ?
-
It's not like ONS sufffered from their absence anyway.
-
AJ gets another rubbish reign and they blow Raven's first title win on a poorly promoted show with no television on which to follow it up. One step forward, two more back.
-
Sandman's Entrance. As someone with little to no experience of ECW, the emotion behind it blew me away.
-
As I've said, I think they'll be lucky to get that - if TNA are negotiating with FSN at the mo, they're doing so from a position of weakness.
-
They seem fairly confident that they'll end up back on tele - while they technically survived airing only on PPV, they were losing huge barrels of money - surely anyone investing in the company would see the loss of TV as a huge step back and a sign that maybe they've been backing the wrong horse. Someone does appear to have buggered up big time - they've known for months when their FSN deal was set to expire and yet they still conspired to be off-air two weeks before one of PPV events.
-
So was WGN looking for TNA to pay for the slot a brand new development or has that been the case from day one ?!? FSN are in a very strong position now and TNA could end up having to spend more just to get back on their original (rubbish) timeslot.
