Prediction #2 - Tomko gets to destroy Hurricane to establish himself as a tough guy. -
Here's the commentary from his site:

It's a tough gimmick to tweak. I'm not sure how you could make it similar to the original, but different enough to not get sued. And you know Vince would be watching it closely, just itching to sue WCW if it was too close to the original. Any interest would have been around the height of the nWo angle. I'm not saying Taker was wrong to do that. In fact, he *should* have done it. At the height of the WCW/WWF "war", he could have made big bucks playing 1 side against the other, and would have been stupid not to do so. I was just pointing out that it's very unlikely that Taker turned down a lot more money from WCW just to stay in the WWF, so to play the loyalty card is really overstating it.

I liked it the first time I saw it...when it was called "Big". (For the record, I did not see "13 Going on 30").
-
You mean you didn't catch that Ozzy Osbourne/Gladys Knight tour back in the late '80s?
-
At least that team is actually playing for something in December, unlike a certain other team that will remain unmentioned

I've always believed your argument. The only reason WCW would have been interested in him would be to have him continue w/ the Undertaker gimmick, or at least the name. Sure, he did well w/ the "Bikertaker" gimmick these last few years, but at the time WCW would have been interested in him, "regular wrestler" Mark Callous (sp?) would have been a serious gamble on their part, especially for the money Taker would have been asking. There's reports that Taker told Vince WCW was seriously interested in him, but the general feeling on that was that Taker was just blowing smoke up Vince's ass to get more money. If WCW was interested, they would have offered him less than he would have wanted (because he couldn't bring the gimmick). Taker turns it down, and thus can look loyal to Vince. I would find it hard to believe, however, that if WCW offered him more than Vince did/could that he would have stayed w/ WWF. As for another title run, I'd say no. He's got the WM win streak, and he has Vince in his pocket. What more else should we give the guy? The only way I'd give him another title run would be if he agreed to job it to someone at WM, and then retire.

Sure enough, a bullshit goalie interference call. Good thing it didn't cost the Flyers. Belfour basically nudged Brashear w/ his shoulder, then flopped onto the ice. Although, not as bad as the one CuJo pulled during a Flyers/Leafs series from ~5 years ago, where LeClair was a few feet outside the crease, and CuJo skated up to bump into a stationary LeClair, and then fell down, getting the call.

Hey, I don't want to defend HHH, but a guy who used to poke *Roseanne Barr* shouldn't be throwing around jabs at someone else's choices in sexual partners.
-
Geez, 1 game and Pat Quinn is already whining about Philly bumping around Belfour (which they didn't do at all in game 1). It'll be interesting to see if any goalie interference calls get made in game 2.

1 thing I can't believe they got away with - on the "Suck-O-Matic", there was a setting to neuter your pet(s). On the control panel, for that setting, it was: "(pic of dog) (minus sign) (pic of 2 balls)".

Wasn't the cartoon called "The Fatheads"? Great episode. Another favorite was the almost-Star Wars parody, where Mr. Bighead was golfing w/ his boss.

How, indeed. -
Wouldn't that be a suicide?

Myers hasn't shown any head hunting tendencies in the past. There's a chance he wanted to pitch inside, and it legit. got away from him, although coming directly after the HR does make it look bad. If he wanted to hit him, he would have hit him, and I highly doubt he'd be aiming for Gonzalez's gourd.
-
He probably has to be in the ring. He probably blew all of the money from his hey-day on nose candy and prostitutes. Didn't Flair mention in 1 of these interviews that they were having him wrestle more than he'd like (or something to that effect)?
-
Myers lost his grip Saw the pitch on TV. It wasn't that close, and the Marlins guy overreacted in getting out of the way.
-
I saw a crappy clip online of Myers' pitch, and it didn't look like it came *that* close to hitting him. Hopefully, I'll get to see the video on TV when I get home to get a better idea of how close it actually was.

Furthermore, Pierre had a situation earlier in the game where the ball got under the padding, and he pulled it out & play continued. Granted, it didn't get "stuck" as much as Polanco's hit, it still got lodged under the padding.

Funny as Marino/Clayton have the third most touchdowns ever behind Rice/Young and Rice/Montana. While Duper & Clayton were OK, that was more a case of Marino (and the offensive philosophy) making them look a hell of a lot better than they were. Dan Marino has thrown that many TDs to Clayton because he had literally no one else to throw the ball at. Of course, later on, he would be backed up by the blistering speed, pounding strength, and steadfast hands of Bernie Parmalee. Straight from UPS to the NFL.

I think the last sighting of Rey was on Velocity a few weeks ago, during the cruiser 4-way match. Which reminds me, didn't Nunzio get a shot at the cruiser title for picking up the win? And wasn't the reasoning behind that to mix more guys into the cruiser title scene? Instead, we have no Nunzio/Chavo match, and Los Chavos mixing it up w/ Cena the last couple weeks.
