Once upon a time... Smackdown > RAW
Spaceman Spiff replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
While part of the problem may have been the Bashams having no heat, the other part was they didn't involve them in any feuds. The had a quick feud w/ Eddy & Chavo, but it was only a backdrop to Eddy & Chavo splitting up to feud. After that, the Bashams didn't have 1 single feud. Maybe if they put them in a feud w/ a couple teams, they could have garnered some heat. Sure, they didn't exactly help themselves, but it's not like creative gave them any feuds to work with. -

I dunno, it depends on what you're looking for. As I said, I usually look for cover songs, as well as setlists w/ my favorite songs. Check here for setlists & reviews. I personally like all/most of the ones that I have (there's a couple I thought looked good that didn't live up [Columbus 8/21/00 for one]). Mansfield (7/11/03) is highly recommended (acoustic set, as well as full concert - they played every song they used on the tour up to that date). EDIT: actually, it took all 3 Mansfield shows to perform all the songs from the tour, not just the last show.

Older than anyone else who's posted in this thread so far. But not the oldest member of the board.

I think the spoiler tags were custom made by areacode212. When the board got upgraded, the spoiler tags were no longer compatible (I guess).

But Jabba isn't mentioned by name. He makes it clear that he owes *someone* big time, but it's never mentioned whom he owes.
-
Wow, there's a bunch of people who don't have any tattoo's that I figured *would* have at least 1 by now.
-
If you ignore the inserted Jabba scene from the SE, then Han hanging on Jabba's wall in Jedi is the only other connection between Han & Jabba. It's never mentioned again between the Greedo scene and ROTJ. Since the scene *was* in the original movie, changing it to Greedo shooting 1st doesn't fit with the Han character. That's why I consider it a big change.

Or, maybe because it's the *only* Raw thread? A bunch of views are probably people refreshing the thread every few minutes.

I mostly shoot for concerts where they do cover songs, or bust out a lot of my personal faves, or get tremendous reviews. If I'm going to pop in a PJ cd, more often than not it'll be live stuff.

Bobby Hennan's wwe return ?? This is promising....
Spaceman Spiff replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Sadly, his voice is gone. There's no way he can carry a show on commentary. I have no idea where they could put him (new "ECW" commentator! ) -
Don't give me this "just discovered" bullshit. You're a card-carrying member, bucko.

Once upon a time... Smackdown > RAW
Spaceman Spiff replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
For me, it was the couple weeks from WM to the re-draft. Up to that point, I found pretty much every SD more enjoyable than Raw (except for a few shows here & there). After the draft, SD lost it. I hate Bradshaw, the Dudleyz (all 3), and I'm not particularly fond of RVD - since the redraft, all of those guys got prominant spots on SD. Combine that w/ Rikishi/S2H holding the tag belts, TWGTT being split up leaving Haas doing nothing, no Brock, no Angle (except for GM) - SD has just been flat. -
Because Christopher is probably going to stick around. The squash by Kane was probably a "you bashed us, now don't get out of line now that we've brought you back" message. I could live w/ Kanyon getting squashed by Kane if it meant he'd be used as a midcarder.
-
At the risk of sounding arrogant, I pitched the basic premise for this idea to Dr. Tom last week, except I suggested the RAW thread be deleted once the show was over since it was such a vast wasteland of nothing and a huge drain on the bandwidth of the place. I would hardly call this idea being put to use any type of abuse of power. Anyone who says so is just being anti-establishment for the sake of it. ::bashes Bruiser over the head w/ the credit:: There's your credit, bitch
-
JR: "Hey, Kanyon, creative's got nothing for you to do, so we're letting you go. And, by the way, don't get upset when we rehire Lawler's kid in a few months."
-
::takes credit for this idea:: OK show. --ME was good, but nothing special. Not sure why HBK ends up pinning Orton, though. Flair has turned into quite the workhorse since injuring his neck. --Brian Christopher? Screw that. Kanyon gets released because "creative doesn't have anything for him to do", yet Lawler's kid gets hired a few months after that? Bah. Besides that, Kane/Christopher was awful. If they want to continue pushing Kane as a heel, they may want to consider stopping the post-match pyro, as it is only serving to get him face pops. --Lita/Trish - better than usual effort from Lita, but still pretty bad. Suicide dive from Lita? Bad idea, especially since she landed pretty much full force on Trish's face. --Eugene? Bah. --Helms gets a win! --Tajiri/Coach for Backlash? Yikes. Suggestion - pin this thread.

WWE wont let OVW wrestler fight TNA wrestler
Spaceman Spiff replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd venture that Abyss is more well known to the wrestling community (or, at least moreso than Colon). Plus, TNA can hype up "TNA star took on WWE superstar" without specifically naming Colon. I'm not saying it makes sense, I'm just trying to look at it from the WWE's perspective. -
Re: the OAO Raw & SD threads - maybe have a mod lock these threads once the show is over (or maybe no later than 5 minutes after). Then, someone can start a "OAO Raw (or SD) Analysis" (maybe a mod can only do this?) thread for further discussion on the show, to contain an overall discussion of the show, or more in-depth discussion on the main angles/storylines/happenings. That way people don't have to trudge through 25 pages to discuss the show.

^^^ Agree. They maybe should have done a few episodes with the massage parlor open for business, and show Kim getting more & more involved ("you should do this", "I'm a businessman, listen to me", "did you learn that in jail?", stuff like that that would get under Tony B.'s skin), finally causing Tony B. to snap.
