Until Mial gets back to us with a response as to his source, we'll act as if this could be about Jeff Hardy. LoTC, yes, for Dupree, that would be a nice feud, post-Cena, pre-Guerrero. Marvin has satellite TV, and gets the SD feed to the local affiliates on Wed. night. He's already watched SD for this week.

Why should he care about TNA's welfare? Yeah, didn't you watch the Monday Night Wars DVD? Vince's philosophy is to "take care of his own, not hurt the other guy."

Pearl Jam was $35 when I saw them last year. $58 for DMB? I expected them to be lower.

Y'know, you can put a bunch of ratings all in 1 post... -
Raven - you need to hook up w/ Anglesault. He'll fill you in on Cena.

Interesting list of music business casualities
Spaceman Spiff replied to Placebo Effect's topic in Music
I don't think they've decided yet. The main options seem to be: 1) sell the albums themselves, similar to how they did the bootlegs from the last tour 2) still release albums through Epic on a per-album basis 3) start their own label (I highly doubt they'd do this) If I was a betting man, I'd pick #1. -
$35 for a name band at a big venue is pretty much the lowest ticket price (as far as I can tell, anyway).

You are a beautiful human being. You bring sunshine to this board. You are a ray of light on a cloudy day. -

Well, I think Gino's in the clear...

I think thats because they want to put Jindrak over in his first program on Smackdown and that simply should not happen to Rey with the amount of popularity that guy has. So you feed sympathetic face Spike to him and hopefully Jindrak'll get some much needed heat out of the deal. Contrast that to the Dupree/Cena situation were Rene will probably loose in his first storyline, but has tons of cheap heat that won't go anywhere. A loss for Jindrak at such a juncture will sink the guy again. If it's a Spike/Jindrak feud, then I'm OK with it. I just don't see this as being any more than a 1 shot deal, but I could be wrong. And The Bull = Stamboli.

What's up w/ Spike wrestling every week on SD? Why not use Rey in his spot (dissed by Long, beats the bigger man, gets beat down by the new Playa's Club member) rather than sticking him on Velocity? I'd think Jindrak would have gotten more heat by beating down Rey than Spike. Looking forward to Chavo/Knoble, even if it is short. Dudz vs. Rikishi/S2H? Sounds like a channel surfing opportunity. And it looks like the Booker/Taker program may be starting. Great way to build up Book as a top-flight heel and the next challenger for Eddy - have him job to Taker.
-
Axl/Kurt could have been an interesting fight. Didn't Kurt wrestle in high school? "Kurt Cobain kicks Axl Rose's Ass" would have been a great headline.
-
I would pay money to see that.

You make it sound like PJ broke up, Ed kicked around doing an acoustic tour, then got the band back together. Ed did acoustic stuff primarily for benefits. And, I think it's pretty clear they're not interested in selling millions of records. They're primarily catering to their core fans. I think "fading out" was a calculated move, to distance themselves from casual "wooo, play Evenflow!" fans. I didn't say anywhere that they broke up. All I said was that they faded out, then Vedder decided to do acoustic stuff all of the time, then they released a new record. And why should they care about "casual fans" that want them to play Evenflow? Is playing your most popular song such a bad thing nowadays? If you go to an Iron Maiden concert, do they not play Number of the Beast so "casual fans" won't show up? That's why I said "you make it sound like". I never said you said they broke up. And Ed didn't do acoustic stuff all the time. He did benefits here & there, at which he did acoustic stuff (mostly covers of other songs). 3 or 4 benefits over a course of 2 years doesn't constitute "all the time" to me. And there's nothing wrong w/ playing their most popular songs. They still do "Alive", "Evenflow", "Jeremy", etc. in concert. I was trying to make the point that they're trying to distance themselves from the typical drunken frat guys who only know stuff from Ten.

Tina on WU = HOT~! Rest of show = NOT SO HOT~! Also, no Scott Stevens is going to hurt the Devils. I wouldn't be so quick to pick them over the Flyers.

The OAO Raw Thread - April 5, 2004
Spaceman Spiff replied to DerangedHermit's topic in The WWE Folder
Since nobody mentioned it, Orton did a horrible job of reacting after the Foley promo. It looked like he had a spot of indigestion, as opposed to being scared shitless, which is what I assume they were trying to go for. -
Oh, man, I think I figured out who stole my bike...
