This same argument cropped up right after the incident happened, so I made a point to watch the footage pretty closely when they showed replays. It was pretty clear that Show had already let go of Rey before Rey made contact w/ the post. So, if you're being pushed as a monster, you can be as reckless as you want? That's ridiculous. What's one of the 1st things wrestlers learn? Always protect your opponent, especially when you've got him in the air. And I'm not saying he had to hold onto Rey until he made contact w/ the floor. Hold on just long enough so the stretcher is in a position to fall back-first, then let go. As it was, Rey pitched over so he was heading down head/face first with virtually no way to protect himself.

Last I heard, Mack & Grenier were injured.

Show should have enough sense to realize throwing Rey into a ring post without providing any guidance would be a potentially bad idea, especially since Rey was strapped down and couldn't adequately protect himself. WAs it an ill-conceived spot? Yes. But Show still should have used common sense in the execution.
-
Show absolutely could have protected Rey with that spot. Show let go of the stretcher by the time it hit the post, leaving Rey to fall unguided to the floor. Show should have held on long enough to guide it down back-first before he let go.

I know I had a good laugh when I saw that.

WWE Notes: Steiner, Triple H/HBK, Rumble
Spaceman Spiff replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I was there, and in the upper level. A lot of the people in my section were just sitting around for the last half of the match, not really doing much of anything. You liked it - great. Personally, I just found it extermely boring after the table bump. -

The 1st half was good (up until HBK going through the table). After that point it was all punches and lying around. I'm all for drama in a match, but it was just boring. -

To be fair, they kept the crowd enthralled the entire time, and with a finish that match would have been the favorite of the night for the Philly crowd. I can't speak for the whole crowd, but myself & the people around me were getting quite bored w/ the match as it drug mercilessly on. -
He's the dude right next to Kane's right elbow (next to the guy in the Texas jersey).

You, uh, may want to skip SD this week...

Tawny Kitaen, if you were looking for the correct spelling...

Really. All these people are saying "he'll be rested, refreshed, he'll come back and bust his ass, he'll be much better than when he left." No way. What's that quote? "Matt loves being a wrestler, while Jeff loves the idea of being a wrestler." He'll come back & jump off stuff, run through all his spots, and wrestle the same exact way, and more than likely look the same. I'd be quite happy if Jeff never surfaced on WWE TV again.

Just noticed this: go to "My Controls", then look on the left under "Personal Profile". There's a link to "change personal photo". There's a button at the bottom of your posts (in with the email, AIM, etc. buttons) for "mini profile" ( ), which is where the pic would show up. Is this disabled? I tried to put a pic in there (not of me), and it wouldn't let me. Is there a particular reason it is turned off? I'm sure it won't be a big deal, I was just wondering.

Do you listen to Michael George? Probably not. George Michael, on the other hand...

WDI has this capability, too. ::hint hint hint::

Your point is...? Vince isn't a wrestler. After Angle, Brock has the highes number among the active wrestling roster on SD. He's the most over heel on SD, and is arguably the most over heel on either roster (again, only counting active wrestlers). Nobody is drawing big buy-rates, so to single out Brock is ridiculous. Who would you stick in as the top heel on SD if you were to take out Brock?
-
From the posted article (take it for what it's worth):
-
I *DO* care if he comes back - they'll plop him in the CW Division and make him the #1 guy, which would suck. Here's an idea - instead of bringing back Jeff because the CW Division "needs star power", build up the guys you currently have under contract. The division is dead because you use the guys as rag dolls for the big guys, and give the title matches 3 minutes on PPV's.

It's more than that. Lesnar embarrassed him on national TV, & disrepected him. Would Austin do the same if he were in that spot? "Oh, well, I proved I could beat him, so I'll just switch brands to go after a guy I haven't interacted with for 2 years, and go after his title just for the challenge of it." No, Austin would be gunning for Brock, to regain his honor, to teach Brock respect, and to take his title. He's only on Raw because HHH used up all the top level faces, so he needed someone that could make him look good while simultaneously not being able to overshadow him (or HBK), which is why Cena (the other guy rumored to be a possibility to switch) wasn't chosen. Benoit will get a token title run, maybe a few months, before HHH grabs the belt back, shoving Benoit down to the midcard just like everyone else before him (except HBK). Also, SD looks pretty good. Knoble/Rey get 9+ minutes? I'm *SO* there.

Battle Royal is for the NWO title shot.

Velocity: FBI (Palumbo/Stamboli) vs. Mike Kruel & John Walker Akio vs. Funaki Shannon Moore vs. Ultimo Sakoda vs. Scotty 2 Hotty Lot of cruisers in action this week, between Velocity & SD.

I'm guessing those were winter of 99-end of WCW. And NEVER mention Evan Karagias again. UGh, so terrible. A.J. Styles? When was this? I think AJ only appeared once or twice. I think he teamed w/ Air Paris, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, tonight's episode was a trip. I was actually laughing out loud at points. Brad's drunken message from jail = GOLD~! Poor Jac, the only sober guy in the house. And damn, Frankie is one frisky bird when she's drunk.

Well, BBCW said eliminate Nunzio & Kidman early since they are the least liked/least CW-like. Funaki doesn't do anything remotely "cruiser" save for a tornado DDT every now & then.
-
I'd be diggin that match. Just lose Kidman & Nunzio quick in eliminations for being the least liked/CW style. And Funaki wrestles like a cruiser?
