Liked the parallel endings between this week & last - this week ended w/ Tony/Christopher's cold, expressionless embrace; last week ended w/ Bobby/his daughter's cold, expressionless embrace (on Bobby's part, at least).

If that's the case, I don't see why they didn't make a big push to get Carr. What's Trent Green have left in the tank, another few seasons? Unless they're taking a QB w/ their 1st pick in the draft.

The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition
Spaceman Spiff replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
So, nobody likes the blondes, huh? All because they're somehow "dirty players" for using the Yield. All that plotting & planning, and they still come in 2nd on the leg. (Warning: winners & the team going out next week are discussed in the following.) Also, surprised to see no penalties from last week's show. E/D and C/M took taxis during the roadblocks when the clue said "proceed on foot" (which D/O and BQ's did). I guess the producers felt time penalties wouldn't really effect the upcoming leg. -
Harry Potter gimmick? Because he doesn't have "the look."
-
Both team members were in the ring for too long.

And you just know Victorino is going to be blamed and benched for another couple of games, like he was last week when he was caught stealing third. Well, stealing 3rd was his fault (unless he was given the sign to steal, which I don't think he was), and a terrible decision at that. I don't know how Victorino can get blamed for this one.
-
See? Double play, inning over.
-
HORRIBLE decision to send Victorino there. The Phillies 3rd base coach is terrible. They need to fire him tonight.
-
Also, it appeared that Creed had just finished taking a leak before he announced his finding of the inflatable castle. Sure looked like he just finished zipping himself back up.
-
You know that's not the 1st time he's played that role, right?
-
Yep, from the Akroyd/Curtin bit on SNL.

*Stanley stares at his car* *episode ends* Fantastic.

Revised flashback listings: (a few surprises when compared to the previous listing)

Duh - you'd be towing your car on a raft as you swim. Plus, it'd give you a place to catch some z's when you get tired.

It's pretty fucked up that Hawaii is a state
Spaceman Spiff replied to Hoff's topic in No Holds Barred
You so crazy, Marvin. Japan would've JUMPED at the chance to control Hawaii during WWII, since it'd make it extremely easy to launch attacks on the US west coast. Japan attacked Midway in order to have a forward Pacific base with which to launch attacks (and control the Pacific Ocean), and we (successfully) defended the islands in order to prevent that. Hawaii is closer than Midway. -
Sayid: "You look just like your mother." Unless Sayid was just playing mindgames w/ her in order to get her to release him? Probably, but I still think Alex is her daughter in either scenario. But let's go w/ your theory (Alex is not Rousseau's daughter, and wasn't born on the island) - does that make Ben a "miracle baby"? And maybe his cancer is the island trying to "correct course" (cf. Desmond's flashback) by ridding the world of a person who should never have been born? Hmm.
-
Holy crap, that's actually real directions from Google Maps (try it!).
-
As pointed out over in the DVDVR Lost thread, Rousseau's kid was also born on the island, so it makes sense that *something* happened after that point which fucks with pregnancies. Ben being born on the island may not be as significant as I thought.
-
So, the island "kills" pregnant women. But, Ben claims he was born on the island. Furthermore, the island seems to have curative powers. But Ben's cancer wasn't cured.
-
Juliette is SO going to turn on Ben.

HBK/Orton actually put me to sleep (FOR REALS, YO) on Monday. I woke up midway into the Cutting Edge segment.
-
Cena also has the best theme music out of those 4.

Hopefully Birchill got better, because he was DREADFUL when he was working the pirate gimmick. Which was odd, since he looked good when he was teaming w/ Regal.
