Damn you... I had that one coming, didn't I? Back on the subject of the NBA playoffs, the I think the Spurs will take the Mavs in a hard-fought, high-scoring 7 game series, which will be lots of fun to watch. (If it is high-scoring and hard-fought) And the Nets will take the Pistons in 5 or 6, if they don't get swept.

In basketball maybe... but they aren't in football.
-
On a slightly related note... Carmelo Anthony signs with Nike
-
I shall fix that. On the subject of Fall Brawl 1998, wasn't that the PPV in which the British Bulldog was seriously injured on that trap door thing in the middle of one of the two rings?
-
Yes, it was. I remember downloading it like the week after, that match ruled all and is easily one of the best, if not THE best match the WWE has put on this year. I also gotta give some love to the Angle's match against Austin at Unforgiven 2001, while probably not as good as their Summerslam match, that match still ruled.

I'm surprised that this picture wasn't pointed out... And when fans bring signs to your events bashing your company, something is seriously wrong.

Credit - ESPN.com Derrick Mason, a sure-handed receiver for the Titans, broke his right hand Sunday while teeing off. ''It's just one of those freak things that happened,'' Mason told The Tennessean on Monday. ''I hit the ball the wrong way and kind of twisted my hand. I might as well rest it now and get back at it at the end of June.'' Mason told the newspaper he was using a driver off the tee when he hit behind the ball and into the ground. The hand started to swell immediately, he told the paper. ''I knew I had done something wrong, I just didn't know what." The injury occured while Mason was taking part in a big charity weekend for the Titans. More than 25 players played in the coach Jeff Fisher's softball game on Friday. The celebrity hoops game was Saturday, with the golf event on Sunday. An X-ray on the hand Monday revealed the third bone in the hand is fractured, according to the newspaper. Mason was in uniform Monday and caught balls with his left hand in one-on-one drills in minicamp, but sat out team drills, The Tennessean reported. Fisher told the paper Mason won't be able to catch "for a few weeks." Mason hopes to be back for the June minicamp. Mason is coming off a terrific 2002 season that included 79 receptions and five touchdowns. ''I've been telling people I was rescuing my dog or something and I slipped and fell,'' Mason joked to the paper. ''I could see getting hurt in other sports, but not that one. Hey, things happen. It was just bad luck.'' Former PGA Tour pro Bob Wolcott, who also played in the charity golf tourney, said it's unusual to break a bone on a golf swing, but not unheard of. ''Derrick is a good athlete, so you have to imagine he is going to wield a club at 100 mph and all of a sudden you hit the ground, it doesn't move,'' Wolcott told The Tennessean. ''You're putting all that energy into something, and it is just like a brick or a piece of wood. Something has to take the shock, and what took the shock was his [hand].'' ''As coaches, we can't keep them from doing everything but you can encourage them to make the right decisions and be careful," Fisher told the paper. "In Derrick's case, it was just a freak incident.'' -------

Credit again goes to ESPN.com for this article. COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The family of Texas A&M football player Brandon Fails has sued the school, claiming his death last year could have been prevented if he had received proper treatment after knee surgery. Fails, 18, of Euless died Nov. 25 after collapsing in his dorm room. The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office said the freshman defensive lineman died of a blood clot in his lung and the cause was accidental. Brazos County Justice of the Peace Margaret Meece, who signed the death certificate, cited natural causes. The wrongful death suit, filed Monday in state district court in Brazos County by Charles and Valerie Fails, names the university and a number of officials, including doctors, members of the athletic department management team and the athletic training staff. University spokesman Lane Stephenson said Tuesday the university does not comment on pending litigation. The petition claims the defendants were negligent in the treatment and care of Fails while he recovered from a knee injury suffered during football practice. It is unclear where the clot originated. Fails, who was 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee weeks before his death. After the surgery, Fails suffered from breathing difficulties and chest pains, according to the lawsuit. The suit claims Fails was wrongly diagnosed and treated for a pulmonary infection when he suffered a pulmonary embolism following arthroscopy. University spokesman Lane Stephenson said Tuesday the school does not comment on pending litigation.

Like Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson is also an NBA veteran. Unless you look at that sort of thing differently. It probably is, and damn it, it's entertaining stuff.

Austin/Angle in 2001 I believe was the last time.

Kevin Nash vs Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match? That's a joke, right?
-
Yeah, I know... And I bought it at Hollywood Video for way less several years ago, I don't remember how much it was. Anyone who pays that much for that PPV is nuts.
-
Would you pay $65.99 for this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=41664

Check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=41664 Would anyone pay $50 for that?

Where do you get games for these things?
-
I realize that. I try and take care of my games, controllers, etc as best I can so they last longer and won't need to be replaced very often. A video-game-anger related question, who here has taken a game out from the system and broken it into pieces?
-
I haven't broken any controllers before. Sure, some have stopped working, but I didn't act like a dumbass and throw them across the room, or anything like that. Reason I never try to break my controllers, the damn things are expensive nowadays, or at least they were at one point.
-
I just love that excuse, all 3045940954 times I fucking hear it during the football season. (Ok, not that exact number, but you get the point) Anyone think the Mavs will put way the Kings for good in the next game? Ditto for the Spurs?
-
I was thinking more along the lines of 21, but 20 seems about right. Don't they begin Big East play (in football) in 2003?
-
I'm a bit surprised he'd even consider that after the crap he pulled.
-
It's about fucking time. That game should've been Super Mario Advance 2, or 3, or something like that. When is this game due out?

Credit - ESPN.com MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday he plans to protest Alabama's decision to hire Mike Shula at the state Capitol next week. Shula was hired as football coach Thursday over Green Bay assistant Sylvester Croom. Jackson said in a telephone interview from Chicago that he wants to draw attention to the selection of Shula, who is white, over Croom, who is black. Croom was an All-American at Alabama and spent 10 years as an assistant coach with the Crimson Tide. Shula, son of NFL coach Don Shula, has spent 15 years as an NFL assistant, including the past three with the Miami Dolphins. He played at Alabama but has no experience as a head coach or on a college staff. "They chose culture and legacy over excellence and it's insulting," Jackson said. A message left with Alabama athletic director Mal Moore seeking comment was not immediately returned. Jackson said his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition was organizing a rally at the state Capitol for Wednesday night to address the coaching situation and other issues related to racial inequality in Alabama. "This issue is just suggestive that the culture of racial exclusion ... is still prevalent in Alabama," he said. "It's not just in football coaches, it's in bank lending, mortgage lending, the criminal justice system." Jackson said the decision to hire Shula showed that the state has not progressed far enough beyond its segregationist past. He compared the university's decision to hire Shula to Gov. George C. Wallace's "stand in the schoolhouse door" on June 11, 1963, when Wallace sought to prevent two blacks from enrolling at Alabama. "Wallace ... blocked the doors many years ago," Jackson said. "Now you got athletic departments closing the doors." Alabama president Robert Witt and Moore told Jackson before they hired Shula that they were considering minority candidates for the job. Croom was interviewed along with Shula and Carolina Panthers coach Richard Williamson, who is white.

lol - That Artest bit was kinda funny... However, with the Wizards starting over again, this just means that I no longer have to watch the Wizards every so often on TNT, ABC, ESPN, etc, during the regular season.
