I have to disagree here, I see the point, but I don't think Xander was ever set up to be a "potential teen heart throb" I don't even recall if the WB marketers ever set Nicholas Brendon up as one either. I think David Boreanz was the only guy marketed as such from the WB's promo department and the actual show's staff. Xander stepped up more in S2 and 3 as a good character (though the character doesn't take off untill "The Pack") Steve Was there even any promotion for Angel being a heartthrob by the 4th episode? Any young male actors at that point have the potential to be a heartthrob at the beginning of a show. Dames

Hey Dreamer, I'm not saying that the first season wasn't good, my point is that the stigma of it being a girly show started because of the first few episodes, which is when most people decide whether or not they'll keep on watching. Dames
-
You know, looking back on it, I can definitely see where the stigma could have come from, especially if you watch the first few episodes of season 1. Welcome to the Hellmouth/Harvest. Valley girl comes to a new school and meets new people, including the popular bitch Cordelia, who Buffy tries to befriend immediately...but ends up being friends with the "losers". The Witch: Buffy tries out for the cheerleading squad. Another girl, Amy, just sucks at it and strives to be like her mother. Teacher's Pet: Potential Teenage Heartthrob Xander tries to get it on with an older woman who selected him because he's a virgin. Never Kill A Boy on the First Date: Buffy goes head over heels over a boy at school and tries to go on a few dates with him, unsuccesfully. Things didn't start picking up til "The Pack" IMO, but I'm sure you guys get my drift. Dames

JLH in a movie = Dames spending money. That is all. Dames

Yeah, but so what? Said and White died because Idzig needed a pep talk? Dames

Some of you may care, some of you may not, but I'm simply letting you guys know that my Diatribe, or my review if you will, will be posted later on this week, most likely Tuesday. The reason for the delay is because now that I have work in the morning, I can't stay up like I used to do to finish in the same night. I can do TNA because it's a 2 hour show, but I don't get enough sleep after that as it is. I've got about 1/4 of it done, but I took a break to watch the Oz Series Finale. Either way, expect it sometime Tuesday night. Dames

Yuna's sigs irritate me. I wish she would just stick with one...preferably with no slash and decently sized. Dames

What can I say....it's true, it's true, I did say that. Then he calmed down and I didn't mind him so much....probably because Angle won the title. He's getting up there in terms of annoyance again though, but I wouldn't say that I have any personal animosity towards him. I just don't like the fact that there are tons of people who avoid the WWE folder specifically because of him. If I didn't try to run this place as fairly as possible, he probably would have been gone by now. Dames

I think she just comforted him. The support from everyone in Em City just didn't have that same feeling since it had happened once before. Oh, that reminds me....nothing happened with Idzig! He got his death sentence overturned and then he screamed NO...and then nothing happened! Dames

Hey...I watched Time of Your Life when JLH got her own spinoff and that's when I got into Jennifer Garner. Dames

"This page is not available" HAHAHAHAHAHA, indeed. Dames

In the episode named "Angel" in the first season, Darla tries to kill Buffy with John Woo like double gun action, but Angel stakes her from behind. In that same episode, she finds out that Angel is a vampire and Buffy believes that Angel bit Joyce when it was in fact Darla. Ring a bell now? Dames
-
Steve, how did you get into it? Did you get hooked from the beginning? Dames

I might as well answer my own question... I got into it in '98. I don't remember what I was doing that night, but I remember going channel surfing and seeing Eliza Dushku for the first time. Of course, being the guy that I am I said to myself "Hot girl. Must watch", so I did. I didn't even realize it was Buffy til a few minutes later. Once I realized the storyline rather quickly (rogue slayer), I marked out for the end of the episode when Faith joined Mayor Wilkins and I watched ever since. Yes, the first ep I ever saw was "Consequences". What's funny about that is that Eliza Dushku introduced me to Buffy, which in turn made me want to see I Know What You Did Last Summer...and that's when I saw Jennifer Love Hewitt for the first time. Love at first sight I tell ya. Shiet, I even ended up getting into Party of Five cuz of her. Now THAT is some girly shit. Dames

In all honesty, this was the first folder on my list of those to go...but there was enough support behind it to convince me to keep it. If that has changed, that's different though... Dames

MK 4, and SF 3 are the first two that pop into my head. Dames

I did like Robson's conclusion and I was VERY pleased with the fact that they cleared up everything between Hoyt and Cleutier. I knew that he couldn't have just disappeared like that. Father Ray finding the body was just sad... Timmy Kirk's mom...damn. I had a Mrs. Voorhies type vibe from her from the start. I guess the one thing that bothers me the most about it is Alvarez's storyline. After Morales was being carted off in the coffin, Alvarez looked at McManus and told him that he didn't want to end up like Morales...leaving Oz in a body bag. I figured it would go either one of two ways...he's paroled or he's killed. Instead, you don't really know what happens to him, except he starts taking D-Tabs. That guy selling them really creeped me out. Sad to see Herrera go out like such a chump. Dames

and No Said either! WTF!? They didn't have any guest narrators for the last two eps... Dames
-
Personally, I was disappointed. They left with too many unopened angles, such as what happens to Alravez, Beecher and O'Reilly. Schillinger's death was done well, but that was probably the only thing I liked about the ending. Dames

Hey Robfather...Rob from Marquesas was probably my favorite Survivor player of all time. I'm glad to see you've got good taste. I agree with you 100% on Johanna. Dames
