You're right, there would have been legal action. But even if he had won the case, it wouldn't have removed the embedded image out of the heads of wrestling fans around the world as their World Title was thrown down on Nitro by their former World Champion. It would have been an embarrassment to everyone in the company and potentially a fatal blow in the feud. All the legal settlements in the world wouldn't make the WWF look cool again if that happened and Vince wasn't taking the chance. But once again...I still don't think Bret would have done it. All I'm stating is that the threat of legal action was something that Eric wasn't worried about and Vince knew he couldn't allow it to happen. Dames

The first time I saw him outside of WCW was at the ECWA Super 8 in 2000. He reminded me of Benoit from the tights to his moveset and mannerisms. Its good to hear that he's doing well in ROH. Dames

There was zero chance of Bret showing up on Nitro, and less than a zero chance of him showing up with the WWF Title belt. To do so would have opened up Bret and Eric to legal action that Vince would have won, and neither Bret nor Eric were going to do that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HTQ, I agree with you 100% when it comes to Bret not showing up on Nitro with the belt. I believe that it's because he has too much character to do that. However, while it could have resulted in legal action by Vince and the WWF, it would be a case that would take months, possibly years to settle and Vince was in BIG trouble at that time. It had been done to Vince once already by Medusa and he wasn't going to risk the humiliation of his world title. I would say that legal action had almost nothing to do with his decision. If anything, what Vince did was a legit breach of Bret's contract and that would have been a large legal issue as well. But either way, I still don't think Bret would have done it. Dames <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vince's ego > Common sense. He wouldn't have been able to resist the chance to stick it to Eric or Bret, but moreso Eric. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly...and what's worse to Vince's ego? Having his top star and World Champion possibly taking his belt to the competition and practically put the last nail in their coffin or winning a lawsuit a year or two from now that no fans would hear about except for on the internet and in a few newspaper clippings when he could possibly be bankrupt by then. People forget how successful WCW was before they self destructed. Vince was scared of going bankrupt and being embarrassed. He didn't care about getting a check years down the road. Think about it, the lawsuit for the Scott Hall/Nash debut in 96 didn't get settled until 99, when WWF was back on top and I'm almost positive that it was thrown out. The lawsuit was the least of his problems. Dames

I would agree, UYI. Shawn is still a great worker, but in his prime, he was on his way to being one of the greatest of all time. Even Flair himself says so. Dames

I thought you were one of the admins in this board, or well where can I find one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am...but at no point did you ever tell me what you wanted it changed to, not even in your PM. Dames

One of the mods or admins have to do it. Dames

I'm pretty sure that Shamrock was the one that popularized tapping out into the pro wrestling culture when he was pushed as the Most Dangerous Man. The first time I remember anyone actually tapping out to the Sharpshooter was when Bret Hart put it on Scott Hall in WCW in his intro at Starrcade if I'm not mistaken. Prior to that, everyone just verbally submitted and the tap out was pretty much an anklelock exclusive for a bit. Dames

Okay, why? Que? I'm just morbidly curious. I second that..."Que"? Dames

Last night sure felt like a season finale to me. 90 Minutes...all the shit that went down and it's NOT OVER. Any thoughts about where Aceveda's storyline is going to go now? I thought for a moment he was going to kill the hooker... Dames

Like I said, the money that was donated is still going to be used in order to upgrade the server to make sure that we don't have outages like we used to on high volume days, like Monday's and on PPV days. The donations are appreciated and don't worry, the money isn't disappearing into anyone's pockets. Dames

The TSMAdmin account's password should be a well kept secret between the 4 Admins. That's how we ended up in the "suspension" mess the other night. To be honest with you, I'd be more than fine if that account didn't exist at all. We need someone to be held acccountable, not just a place holder name. Dames

I can't give you any real answers right now because I'll be honest with you, I have none. I'd prefer to keep everything relatively quiet until things are settled, but all I can say is stay tuned.... Dames

Now I know what it's like to get a hold of me lately.... I really need to speak with you as soon as possible. I saw that you took the Super Admin powers from me as well as a few others and it really has upset quite a few people. I want to speak with you about straightening things out, especially when it comes to the server and the domain name. Give me a call on my phone when you get this. 860-997-3310. Dames

FYI, I just recently renewed the domain name for the next 2 years and you can use it for the forums if the main site is decided upon to be dropped. Dames

Holy !#$!@# that was awesome. Discuss. Dames

Or maybe just a couple of hours. CronoT, just so that you're aware, I did get your PM and I was all set to respond to it...until I saw this thread, so I might as well do it here then. Arguing about your post count, seriously, come on man...it's the most trivial of the trivial things ON this board, I can't even take a complaint like that seriously. It's not like you're the first person to have their post count altered either... As far as Kotz and Ill go, they haven't done anything remotely bad enough to you or to anyone else to receive some sort of reprimand for it. You were suspended for 48 hours...ok. I can understand feeling slighted for that, but it's not like you were banned outright. In the past, suspensions weren't even in place, so just realize that no one here HATES you or has it out for you or anything like that and just enjoy the board. Oh and by the way...your thread/joke that started this all...terribly unfunny. Dames

Ok, so let's see what this episode really told us... The numbers are etched on the hatch that Locke & Boone found. The French woman heard the numbers as a distress signal and shipwrecked onto the island. The "sickness" came and she murdered all of them. Hurley was possibly in a mental institution in the past and got the numbers from a friend, obviously mentally ill, spouting off the numbers repeatedly. This friend was in the Navy... The numbers brought bad luck to everyone around him....which is why the plane went down. But it seems like all of their paths led to the island... So, what do the numbers mean? I think the hatch leads to some sort of an island expermination center, which is what gave the rest of them "the sickness". It may be what crept into Boone's mind...making him see things. The other people on the island, whispering...probably created the monster. Dames

Little by little, JBL will win you all over with his promos. Dames

JBL and Cena were so awesome, everyone's overlooked Coach's hilarious cameo. Dames

I was converted about November or so. The promos are gems. Dames

....Did you forget that Batista technically already is a heel? *'Tista spinebusters a PUPPY* Dames

That was a billion times of awesome. I'm more excited for this fight more than anything on Raw next week....and that's saying something considering the Batista turn is scheduled for Monday. Dames

I would venture to say that he's got about 50 million dollars MAX. He's probably the only person in the wrestling industry right now (with the exception of the Rock after his next few movie checks) who can probably start his own promotion by himself, but why would he want to spend money when he can appear on everyone else's shows and make so much more? And seeing how this is Hulk Hogan that we're talking about here, it's not a promotion that would EVER work anyway. That's why he'll never do it. Dames

Actually guys, I'm an insurance agent now as you know. The state of Missouri claimed that I didn't pay my resident income tax for 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003 even though I've never lived, worked or been there before. I wasn't the only agent who received this notice and shortly after had their license suspended. It's a red tape deal and we're dealing with it and it's a very simple process. It sounds like the same problem with their licenses, so this really isn't anything to worry about. It's an error of the state of Missouri's part. Dames
