The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
The Dames replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Yeah...Giles and Angel didn't interact too much after he killed Jenny in S2. And I've only seen the Beast's demise...but I've never seen Apocalypse Nowish or Spin The Bottle...aka the beginning of Season 4. Dames -
The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
The Dames replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I lent it a friend of mine who never saw Buffy or Angel and didn't want to give it back. He finally did and I let him borrow Buffy Season 1 since I told him that eventually WAY down the road, Mal & Zoe end up on Buffy and Angel... I realized how badly I fucked up once I was lost about the whole Connor thing... I didn't realize until I watched Season 3 that the prophecy that the Father Will Kill The Son...was FALSE. Since I never saw it, I thought that was actually fulfilled in Home when Angel apparently slashed Connor's throat. Man, I was marking out. Season 5 (Origin in particular) makes SO much more sense now. Dames Dames -
I agree with you Zsasz. Great match which is marred by the finish. Unfortunately, despite being the main event on WWE's #2 show of the year, the build up, story and payoff for Angle/Austin was VERY weak which hurt the match's heat a bit, I'd say. Dames

Rebuttal: I don't deny that HHH loves professional wrestling, but if truly loved the business, he wouldn't have put himself in the top spot at the expense of others, which have caused a decrease in revenue, ratings, profits and overall morale for the business he "loves". Dames

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
The Dames replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
My guess is to part of the reason why this thread hasn't been closed yet is partially because I still haven't seen everything yet. I bought Firefly, loved it. Have all the Buffy's, know it as much as you guys do. I missed the last half of Season 3 of Angel when it ran on TV and didn't get back into it until Faith came back on Angel Season 4. I got Angel Season 3 for my birthday, which I LOVED...and I FINALLY got to see everything with Holtz and Connor and Wesley...Which I NEVER SAW... And I can't wait to see the beginning of 4 now even though I know how it all turns out. Can't wait til the DVD arrives. Dames -

If they are SERIOUS about getting Orton over with the crowd as a heel...this is what they should do. He should LOSE tonight's title match to Benoit, giving him the title back. Orton would be CRUSHED since the announcers and wrestlers would call his victory a fluke. Triple H could still be the leader of Evolution, going after the World Title and such. His consolation for Orton is to tell him that regardless of how long his title reign was, it was at SummerSlam and THAT's the match that's remembered, that's the match thats on the video stores, that's the match that goes on the annual highlight reels. Keeping Orton in his place... Orton would then be on a MISSION to win the World Title back...but was actually most concerned with how long his title reign would be. He ends up winning the World Title and holds it til Wrestlemania (making a BIG DEAL about his first title defense, which is an automatic draw with an over champion), where Triple H goes for the shot. Triple H tries to tell him that he doesn't want to hurt him, so Orton should just make it easy on him in their match. Orton is of course appalled and tells him that he doesn't have to listen to him. He won the World Title defeating a man that he couldn't (Benoit), he was the youngest champion, Triple H was how old? They wouldn't come to blows, but eventually Flair brings them together and agrees to a stipulation match. The winner of the match is not only the World Champion, but the leader of Evolution and the loser is kicked out. Dames

Orton as the vengeful babyface could work. Girls already like him and his finisher is cool to bring the young crowd that like to emulate moves in. His tough matches and the fact that he IS champion is enough to earn the respect of the tough men. Orton and Edge team up to take on Flair & Batista. Play up the fact that Flair & Batista were 2 Time Tag Champs. The match is GREAT as Orton is just taking a beating from Evolution, with him trying to get the hot tag to Edge ...he makes the tag....and Edge joins Evolution for another beatdown. Edge, the man that took his Intercontinetal Title, took his place in Evolution... Dames

Fuck it, you know what. I've had so much fun watching Raw, talking about this tonight... I mean, even the title of the thread says it ALL. It's going Classic tonight. Dames

....You know who's booking this angle. I don't care WHAT you say, I don't care WHAT you think of the guy, Triple H deserves credit for putting this angle together. He's got to be booking his own angles at this point and he's always been an NWA fan, admitting that he watches classic matches all the time. Maybe Triple H in control isn't THAT bad... Dames

You NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, make the HEEL the guy chasing the title going into Mania. Mania should be about good triumphing over evil, PERIOD. It's TWO MEGA over guys at that point. People would WANT to see this match with my plan. If you stack up the rest of the card, that would be a great, great match. Evolution is a coolish group and they're getting more cheers than boos, so a stip like that would draw the crowd in. Dames I understand that, Dames and if you were talking about ANY OTHER PPV I'd be like HOT DAMN, DAMES YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. But... it's WrestleMania. Sometimes you got to take a chance. I am CONFIDENT that a storyline as rich as that one...would draw in fans if it was promoted right. You have to have a STRONG undercard though and that can be done with this roster. Dames

That was the BEST executed Angle I've seen in YEARS. I don't know about you...but I was into it. They really had a good story there with Triple H acting as the mentor... *Thumbs down* Awesome. Godfather like. Dames

BEST RKO EVER! He better ALWAYS do it that way from now on. It will be the next Stunner. Dames

That promo was fucking AWESOME. Triple H actually looked like he was now in Flair's position for a second there and put over Orton more than he's ever done for anyone else EVER on the mic. Fucking awesome. Dames

Speaking of the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, during the recent brawl, did you catch the awesome side headlock by A-Rod? Varitek tried to counter with a Ric Flair-esque shin buster, but A-Rod shifted his weight and the Falls Count Anywhere On the Field Match ended up near the dugout! Dames
