I know it's been awhile since I've seen Downhome's pic, but I don't remember him looking like Dr. Phil. Oh and I'm 26, which makes me older than him also, but what does that matter?

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
LaParkaYourCar replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
It is. It comes off really asshole-ish. Almost like a big "fuck you" from the wb to all the save angel campaigns and stuff. This is why WB must die. I'm not sure what to watch next year. Alias is ok, but I was never very into it. Smallville is fine, but it constantly gets moved around here in Canada so it's tough to watch it. Maybe I'll start watching 24. That stinks because next season of Smallville is shaping up to be quite good after tonight's finale. If it weren't for Smallville I'd give up on the WB, but I still want to watch Smallville. However, I'm still pissed at the way the WB just cancelled Angel on short notice and then tried to act like they really cared about the show. -

I just rewatched the "thank you" from the WB and at the end it says "from your friends at the WB"......that's just cold...damn cold. -
Oh I see what you're saying, but that could still happen. Especially if Jor-El really wants him to be a conqueror. Eventually Clark will chose to be a hero instead.
-
But didn't Clark choose to go into the opening? I'm pretty sure he chose to when his father was being choked. Sure that was a forced compliance in a way, but he still chose to even though Johnathan said not to.
-
I think that's the point. Jor-El got his way and now things are all messed up. However, I don't really like how they've made Jor-El a villain type character. Where did that come from? Wasn't Jor-El supposed to be good?

I read the second set of spoilers that said Gunn's death wasn't actually going to happen. I'm glad, because I think it would have been too much death with both Lindsey and Wes dying. -
So back to my earlier question. What do ya'll think Clark's "rebirth" will mean exactly? New powers?

Illyria saying "Wes is dead...I grieve for him and I cannot control it. I want more violence!" had me marking out! -

My only wish is that they made the Connor/Angel scenes a little more emotional. It was the moment that Connor finally showed some respect for his father and yet it didn't have the emotion it could have had. Oh and I loved the scene with Angel and Lindsey. Angel: I want you Lindsey.........I need to find a way to rephrase that. Lindsey: Yeah! -

Spike takes it. He doesn't have as much to suffer for. Spike chose to get his soul. Angel always going to be the guy working towards something he can never achieve. That's kind of what the shows about: Angel can't win, because there's no way to leiminate the evil, but he can fight the good fight and have the small victories. Where did Lindsay learn to fight so well. Oh, I loved this episode. Tied everything together so well. So fucking beautiful. So sad at times. Lindsey seems like the kind of guy that would learn to fight in his time away. I think everyone dying, or presumably dying, is the best way to go out. Better yet leaving it up to the viewer to decide whether they died like some tale of old with no end is the best way. -

Well I'll still have Smallville to fill my Wednesday night TV watching (unless they move it again), but it will still feel incomplete without Angel. -
I'm not sure how Chloe would have survived seeing as the minute she walked in the door the house blew up and it looked like the explosion started in the doorway. All in all this was the best Smallville episode ever, but it was overshadowed by the Angel finale afterwards in my mind. It was hard for me to dwell on how great the Smallville episode was while watching the end of one of my favorite TV shows.

Technically it happened so suddenly that there's no way Buffy and the New Slayers would make it unless Angel called them, but such a move would be very noticable to the Senior Partners. Buffy and 1000's of Slayers all coming to LA would be very obvious. -

The thing is...if they did show the battle, how would they end it? Angel signed away his chance at the Shanshu. I think leaving it up to us to believe whether they lived or died makes it feel like we were listening to an old legend being told where they ended the story with..."it was never known whether they lived or died that day, but the battle was quite a sight" or something like that. -
So what new powers will Clark have next season now that he's being "Reborn"?? Flying maybe?

Oh yeah the fact that Angel knew Lindsey wasn't coming back kind of implied it too I guess. I just rewatched the end. I didn't notice the giant demon in back before. He towered over everyone. -

I figure there are lots of demons hanging out in both Sunnydale and LA from the things that have been said over the course of Buffy and Angel. Just not all of them get involved. Some probably keep a low profile. Especially when people like Buffy and Angel are around. -

James Marsters will probably just spend more time on his Band and maybe do some stage acting and a few appearances in movies here and there. David Boreanaz will probably just do occasional work. Charisma Carpenter already has a TV show lined up. Alexis Denisof I could see doing some TV Drama down the line or something. Maybe join one of the Law and Order shows. I don't know why, but I could see him doing that. Kind of like Kate did. J. August Richards, Amy Acker, and Andy Hallet (sp?) might get other work, but who knows.
